so ive gotten a damaged flat-screen tv, 32 inches, that ive decided to turn into a gaming table. i want to make an acrylic cover for the screen, etched in 1-inch squares for use with maps and minis, but im not quite settled on how i want to actually build the table itself. i'd like it to seat a max of 6 people (i dont want a huge party to run, im not terribly experienced at DMing yet) so it still fits in my house. does anyone know of any cool plans or videos of building something like this?
We play at a table like this. How we do it is as your mentioning. Some plexi-glass or real glass to cover the TV and Roll20 to project from a tablet or Chromebook ( I would pick up a ChromeBit for this, they're perfect it's a full Chromebook computer ). We don't have anything etched in as all the maps have it and when we want to play something like Zombicide it just doesn't work. All and all it's a great setup.
ive got a high end thinkpad/wacom tablet pc that i use to run dnd beyond and my notes, it has about a bajillion hookups for whatever screen i end up going with. thanks for the tip on the "no etching" idea
