I'm a relatively new DM with a relatively long history of being artistic, so I have bought SO. MANY. MINIS. ... just to paint them and also because why not? However, on my trip to the local game store today I realized that I had no idea which color orange paint I had at home. I immediately found myself an app to track my paints, but then thought "wait... did I buy this mini already?" and started wondering how I could keep track of my collection. Spent some time today googling and found a few sites like miniscollector.com but they focus on pre-painted minis. I own far too many of those as well, but I want to track the ones I've gotten that were not painted already too.
Anyone know of an app or site that I'm missing that can track this stuff? I'd love to be able to type in "Tiefling Warlock" and see the variants, and add the ones I own to a collection, plus be able to mark whether or not I painted them already. Maybe even add a snapshot of it so I can show it off or keep track of what Dragonborn colors I have already, for example.

Using an app to track your collection would not save any time (and it'd never stay updated). Better to keep your miniatures organized by type (as you'll want to do that anyway to use them for games) and not be concerned about impulse purchases.
As for miniature research: I use keyword searches (narrowed by the 'miniature' category) on sales sites like Troll&Toad, CoolStuffInc and MiniatureMarket.
Not for tracking minis and miniature painting supplies, but I use multiple google spreadsheets for tracking stuff. They are highly customizable, accessible on nearly any mobile device, and shareable.
I don't keep track of my minis. They are in a combination of three boxes and a several baggies only loosely sorted by racial or expected encounter types (so like all "orc-like" things in one bag, all "lizard-people" in another, "things that could be cultists" in another, all the large sized or bigger minis in another bag, etc.)
Every time I need to dig out some minis it's basically an adventure unto itself.

Hello everyone,
I'm a relatively new DM with a relatively long history of being artistic, so I have bought SO. MANY. MINIS. ... just to paint them and also because why not? Any help is much appreciated! :)
