I'm interested in seeing folks post their home-created map. Any map you personally created for your game that you'd like to share with the community. We can all go out to Pinterest or Google----but here we can share our most cherished personally owned works for others to enjoy as well. Lets keep them coming!
Happy Independence Day weekend fellow 5e D&D folks!
I'd like to share this map I created with you. Use it for inspiration or for your home game as-is. I'd love to hear back from you if you use it! From my table to yours: FREE!
Here is a higher resolution image of the area where the combat encounter is most likely to happen:
Here is a maptool file with the map (with vision blocking set and populated with NPCs with full 5e stats and macros), as well as a larger map of the city.
How would I format any of these maps to be printed and still have a 1" square for miniature use?
Think layman here. I understand some geek speak but go to deep and I will be asking for a comprehend languages spell.
You wouldn't really be able to. What you need is for a person to post some extremely high resolution versions of these maps that you could then take to a local printing company and have them print off in a large sheet using one of their industrial printers. It wouldn't cost much at all. Less than $5-10, depending on the company. But the deal breaker is getting hi-res maps. Without those, you'll just get pixelated mush when you size them up to real 1 inch squares.

Here's the first floor of a map I used recently in a campaign I run. It was an old asylum that had been shut off for two hundred years and the inmates and staff had been corrupted by an ancient evil. The whole place was a very horror themed environment with background sounds of maniacal laughter, chains rattling, whispered voices, demon growls, etc.

I played that campaign. It was a stressful and creepy mess. (I don't handle horror well!) But damn was it fun. And creepy.

Actually there is a way. For example, I started linking to my high resolution downloads. Its easy to add a grid in Photoshop, or Maptool, or other such tool.
If you find a map that has a 1" grid but its skewed, it is also possible to resize the grid using GIMP or Photoshop. Let me know if there's a specific one you're looking for. I'm happy to help.
Here's one I made for the macro view of my homebrew campaign. Most of the micro maps are things I modify from existing maps, so I don't think it'd be right to post them. Especially since I don't have any of the numerous artists originals.

Here is a small hideout that i made testing Campaign Cartographer.
I have aptly named it "Small wizards hideout".
I'm not stupid. I'm just unlucky when I'm thinking.
what did you use to make this?

I'm just getting started, and these maps have been helpful so far. Thanks y'all.
Glad you're getting value from this thread. I'll post a few more to keep this going.
Here's another I made original, just for sharing---entering into public domain for your use any way you wish....
This one has no grid--designed primarily for VTT... http://www.deviantart.com/download/665755780/inquisitorsruins_by_paxveritas-db0dgg4.png?token=bcfdcc5f9d78007829b1fa023f589e6c67de8049&ts=1502228646

Alright. I seriously like this thread.
Now a question to any who might help me.
