...the possibility to send/link another players character...
This kind of folds into my idea that I had on the last page about DM's being able to see everyone's Character Sheet online. Maybe from that same Grouping Feature the DM could share a character sheet for the exact reason you mentioned? As long as all the players are cool with it I don't see an issue. I'd personally like to have the option even if I never used it.
I'm assuming the sheet will take up multiple pages, tabs, or screens. If I'm right, can we separate the stuff thusly:
Combat page: AC, HP, saves, initiative bonus, weapon and armor details, combat abilities listed, prepared combat spells listed. Since we're working on a digital platform, it should be possible to digitally manage space so that all of these fit.
Social/Exploration page: name, appearance, equipment (without listing damage and other combat details), skills, non combat traits, features, abilities and other prepared spells.
Companion page: animal companion, mounts, donkeys, dogs, possible summoning conjurations, and even wildshapes, since they fit the format. So, maybe call it the companion form page.
Spell preparation page: list all possible spells to select those to prepare each day.
Character building page: list all the choices made for the build, from ability score selection or rolling, to race and subrace choices, to every choice made when you level up.
Possessions page: list all equipment, currency, and magic items, but also stuff not carried (this would work well towards the campaign management phase, but also determines the load on the mount). What items are worn where (sometimes we have to pick which magic item to put in a certain slot). Maybe even options for different loadouts.
Notes page.
Typing a long post and seeing someone else posted most of you wanted to post. :^)

I'd like to have an area to track consumable items; arrows, rations, water, etc. As well as an easy to see section for class specific resources like ki, sorcery points, and uses of bardic inspiration.
One of the things I really enjoyed with the 4th ed creator was the ability to rearrange, add, and entirely remove sections of the sheet that you just didn't use. Would be neat to see that return.

I like the idea of putting all the character building/leveling background information on its own separate page. But this list seems pretty good and I would also like it to look like that. Back in my 3.5 days, I used to buy the character sheet books. It would be pages of information just for one character. They were helpful and I feel like I protected that character more because I put so much work into creating him. I feel like this is the kind of template I am hoping to see with DDB.

Arbitrary user-defined attributes. Give us a way to set our own homebrewed stats. One of my campaigns used Corruption points to keep track of demonic influence, for instance.
In the D&D DM guide book, there's information on 2 variant rules stats, honor and sanity. If the character sheets are made online, could these be added please?
This would be amazing in my Curse of Strahd games.
This may not be the right place, but would it be possible for someone to share permissions on a character sheet, so the DM can have access to view/download key information on the character? When I run games I have a tracking sheet that lists everyone's AC, Passive Perception, Languages (so I know if they understand things they overhear), etc. I'd love to be able to track things (especially things that change like HP) in real time.
I can think of a few large things that I would like to see:
It would be heavenly if character sheets had two versions. A live version and a set version. The set version displays your stats, equipment, etc. when you are fully recuperated, whereas the live version will show any buffs/debuffs, HP changes, loss of use of any abilities (because they've been used already), and both the DM and PC could change it (DM for reasons like HP changes, PC for things like equipment adding or ability usage). Both of the games I DM would greatly benefit from something like this because all thee PCs and I have a computer in front of them and instead of having to constantly and manually change things they could just watch it happen in front of them, which in turn makes gameplay moves faster.
A chat system directly from DM to PC. Whenever and NPC says something that not all players can understand (or in other circumstances i.e. a character wants to make a choice and not tell the whole party) then instead of whispering in ears or passing notes, they could just chat via this system and not run the risk of anything being overheard or read over the shoulder.
Have the ability for PCs or DMs to hyperlink their own things into the pages. Say a halfling druid has a ring of protection, the DM/PC could hyperlink the item in their equipment list to the item in the items list, and have it open up in a way similar to the spell tab I was talking about above.
Also I know this one has already been talked about/debated upon, but I'd just like to get my two cents in edgewise. As far as spells (or maybe a shapeshift page, etc.) go It would be most convenient if there was an onscreen tab that would open up, similar to the research tab on google docs, to show the info/stats for whatever you are doing.

Do not expect people to be smart, but do not allow them to be stupid. If there is one thing I have learned it is this.
I would hope at least when we see the characters sheets is a spell list for spells you can know vs. ones you currently have prepared, along with details if you click on them
I know you've been here all along and all, but could you quit hacking my turrets... it's making my hard work not pay off...hahaha

Take this one step further - When doing an action that consumes materials/ammo/etc. have that consumable be reduced automatically in the character sheet. For example, when I make an attack with my longbow, my arrow count drops one arrow. Depending on the level of realism/complexity, you could opt to have spells check your inventory for spell components before casting to see if you actually have them on hand. If you do, it casts - if not, the spell is grayed out until you purchase them again. This type of checks and balance system for inventory/consumables helps take some of the tedious management off the player yet keeps them aware that their characters live in a world where everything isn't limitless - if you want to play that way. Same applies for the money system - buy an item, money reduces automatically. You could even build a color coding system in or, at the very least, a notification system that warns you when you are running low on an item: green - got it, yellow - running low, red - you really need to buy more now, gray - can't use it until replenished.
This might go without saying but maybe an easy way to share your character sheets. I always like taking a look at the other characters I'm with without talking for an hour though that can be fun too. Also maybe some way to make a regular item enchanted without replacing g it completly.
Not sure if this has been suggested already or is already part of the development plan (I'm at work and can't read through all the posts), but what would be awesome is for the page to be modular, so you can pull sections, widget-like, to customize your sheet. That way if you're playing druid (as mentioned above), you can pull in a Wildshape widget, but if you're playing fighter, you can leave out the spell sections, etc, for expediency's sake. You could pull in sub-class sections, etc. There are quite a few web-based page builders like this. Not sure what the logistics are. Anyway, a suggestion.
I'd also like to see direct links on magic items to the DMG descriptions. I'm forever forgetting how many dice my Javelin of Lightning does. :)
Thanks! Can't wait!

It would be great if you could simply mouse over items and it just pulls up an explanation of the items, so you don't have to open a new page when you're playing a game. Also an easy way for players to reference rules while on their character sheet would be great. There are so many actions in combat that my players never take simply because they forget that they are options they have.
An added thing I would like as a DM would be the ability to send items directly to characters sheets. This way if they get a reward from an adventure it's not on them to notate it, and the whole process would be simplified. I have had sometimes where there has been a long gap between sessions and people have simply forgotten to notate an item and it isn't remembered for several sessions.
Instead of saying, "Here's the character sheet you asked for." why not give us the ability to customize our own character sheet? Maybe this could be an opportunity to say, "Okay, here's your standard character sheet. Here's a list of check boxes for different things the community has asked for. What do you want your Character sheet to look like?"
In my mind I'm imagining a page that shows you an image of the character sheet and on one side or the other is that list of check boxes. Then when you select one of those check boxes you can see how it alters the character sheet.
For example, if you're playing a ranged character, you could select a munitions check box and it would give you a small labeled box on the character sheet set aside for munition tracking. Playing in a dungeon crawl and the DM has told the players to track food rations? Check box, boom, it's on the character sheet in a designated area. Maybe to make it easier instead of having a check box for munitions and rations etc... You could just have a check box on the customization page that says "add resource" with a drop down for however many things you would like to track. Then the character sheet would allow you to type in the name of the thing you're tracking a la form fillable PDF style. Then the player while playing could type in the number that they want to track with up and down buttons to increase or decrease the number of that item being tracked as needed.
To reiterate, this idea is for a customizable character sheet. I just used resource tracking as an example way to customize it, but ideally you should be able to choose if your traits, ideals, bonds, flaws are on the front page or on a different page. Currency tracking on the first page or a different page, does your DM even bother with Electrum, do you want your saving throws grouped up or next to the respective ability score, skills grouped up or next to their respective ability score, proficiency die or bonus, DM inspiration tracking or no, Hero Points or no, Honor ability or Sanity ability; both or only one or the other, etc...
Some of this has been mentioned, but here are my thoughts.
DM having access to all their players character sheets (even just a summary or "Stat Block" style).
If there is an optional rule, there needs to be a check box to allow us to easily use that rule during creation. (hero points, Madness, whatever...)
Integrated random generators for things like Name, race, height, weight, sex, ability scores etc.. are great to have as well.
When a new Unearthed Arcana comes out, pushing them through to the character builder as "Experimental" or "play-test build" options (again a simple check box) would be a great way to get the community using the updated materials and allowing for quicker feedback all in the Beyond app.
A direct link to a player token images database so a player can easily select an image to represent their character until they can find/draw a custom one, would also help players visualize the character for more immersive role-playing.

Hopefully the home brew section will have an "art" section for other types of submissions besides maps and such.

The option to have a DM's toolkit with the option to have access to my player's characters would be a damn godsend! I make note card representations of all my player's characters. It would be nice for us to exchange information that way as well. Maybe be able to slide them a DM note to their character? That would be amazing. Also, if a creature hits them I could maybe deduct it myself via the app/site. If we're all connected to our server, or whatever, then I think that would make it interesting. Take the pencils and erasers out of the game, it will be sad but super exciting and easier for all of us to manage. Maybe make the flow of the game better as well.

We are a group of elderly gentlemen and almost every week life gets in the way for some players.
Then somebody else play that character along with his own.
We havent seen the character builder yet, but the possibility to send/link another players character would be nice/is a must for us.
I'm not stupid. I'm just unlucky when I'm thinking.
