A search for movement types would be nice to have as well. If you're designing an aquatic campaign, knowing which creatures have a swim speed is useful. Likewise, if you're searching for creatures to populate the Elemental Plane of Air, filtering out all those who don't have a fly speed will cut your search time down significantly.

I don't understand why we don't have a more global search for monsters. The above examples might be better solved by adding aquatic and avian environments, but you're never going to be able to foresee every search need. At present, unless your search need is satisfied by the field options currently present, the only search field searches monster names. Please just add a global search.
I think it would be nice to either have an expanded description of the monsters senses or a clickable link or hover text, to better help new DM's understand what some of those senses entail . IE. Blindsight 60ft on the adult black dragon. A new dm may not know what blindsight or darkvision entails and to have to get another book out to cross reference, which makes this tool less of a one stop shop for someone not as familiar with some mechanics, IE new players.
... I was wondering if it is possible (or will be possible) to create personal, customized monster lists. I am running a campaign that has orcs, hobgoblins, and fiends working together. For my upcoming session, I have Orcs, Hobgoblins, Hobgoblin War Chiefs, Dire Wolves, Imps, and Spined Devils in one battle. Is there some way I can select specific monsters and have only those monsters on a personal list? I think it would be incredibly helpful to have some sort of function to that effect.
Seconded. As a DM, one of my most frustrating chores using hardback books is having to flip back and forth. (For example, I just had a fight with multiple devils and a hell hound and things slowed down as I was forced to go back and forth.) Being able to place a few stat blocks, perhaps in condensed form, on one scrollable page would greatly aid play.
I'm unfortunately too lazy to read through all the posts, but I think so far all I can add is, when you do release the app or improve, I'd like to see something like the Kobold fight club. Something that a DM can use to build encounters against monsters.
I have seen a couple of threads wishing for clickable spells in the monster descriptions. Or pop up boxes with the spell info. The same for other relevant information that is needed to run the monster without searching in multiple places. Special abilities, magic items. This would be great, and it seems this mega-thread is the right place to ask for it.
or as a mouseover hover, would be really cool. That same code could be re-used all over the site, including on the forums.
I'm thinking like the way sites like wowhead work, where you can put the name of the spell inside square brackets and it becomes a mouseover link.
This! A mouseover hover summarizing the spell would be extremely helpful. That way if I, say, am looking at the flameskull I don't have to switch to Spells to look up fireball, etc.
Definitely something I'd like as well. Especially handy for casting NPC's like mage. I would almost prefer clickable links/popups so I dont have to keep my mouse in one place to read the info.

It's totally possible to make it do both - best of both worlds! A hyperlink to the actual spell/item in the database and a tooltip when the link is hovered over. :)
It's possible to do some really fancy advanced stuff also, like having a small icon next to the link text, indicating whether it's a monster, item, spell etc and maybe more!
Forgive me if this has been posted before, but i feel like there is a missed opportunity for the monster list. I think it would be helpful if one was able to click on the creatures attack actions/saving throws/ability checks and have some kind of dice rolling/random number generator built into the monster list.

(Sorry devs)
This same feature could be applied to things like the special senses the monsters posses as well, or condition they inflict, fixing the issues I had mentioned earlier and being an even greater aid to new players and DM's still learning the ropes.

Quoting because this is he single most important improvement my table has pointed out as critical

As I've been told, you'll prolly be seeing this improvement added next week. And you'll be able to do it in forum posts as well.
Totally agree with tagging monsters for monster lists and such.
I do enjoy the simplicity of the info, but the idea of taking a creature, tagging it, modifying it, adding it to an encounter list, then printing it for reference sounds like a dream come true. Maybe even adding printable "token" piece. Not sure if this is meant to be free tools or paid, but if a paid premium service to get access to tokens and such would be an interesting idea.
So From what I've seen of the monster list so far it looks and works great! Just a couple of suggestions for features which I think would be really cool:
1) A "go to random monster" button (not really that useful just interesting to me) - or possibly even a full random encounter generator (far more useful but possibly quite heavy on the development side?).
2) Custom tags - obviously not visible to everyone it would be great to be able to add our own private tags to various monsters (i.e. sort by monsters your party has fought before, monsters residing in certain country in your campaign etc. I know this could all be recorded on paper somewhere but would be far more useful/quicker here).
3) It's already been said but a link to spells from a monster page would be invaluable.
I don't like that I have type the entire correct monster name. If I'm looking for a blue dragon wyrmling in combat I would like to be able to just type blue for example and scroll down.

I just typed blue and hit enter, scrolled down, and there it was.

My 5e Houserule Considerations. Please comment freely.

Old grognard
Is anyone else have issues with the CR filter? I set the filter but doesn't actually sort. Wanted to see if it's just on my end or a larger issue.
NVM, definitely user error which I quickly found out.

Enjoying this so far, thank you.
Lots of good stuff here that we're discussing a great deal internally. Thanks for the feedback, it's helping!

I failed my investigation check no Beholders listed yet. Also was checking a few of the monsters and didn't see any lair actions.
