The staff has been toiling away the couple past weekends to get this done faster, so a weekend release wouldn't surprise me. That said, I hope they have time for rest and some fun as well!
I'll assume behaving myself involves counting to 20, so I'll get on that posthaste.

Just to clarify, skizzerz - This is an update to the quote thread we're talking about. Not the ever anticipated reveal of phase 2.

Yes... and if we are in luck the thread update will be giving us the release date of phase 2! (That's what I am hoping for anyway *crosses fingers*)

If there's an update on Phase 2, it most likely won't be coming from us mods. Sorry!
Whilst not a developer quote, I'll see if I can squeeze it in somewhere in the Tooltips section so we have a stickied reference somewhere for now. Good call.
D&D Beyond offers the ability to link certain aspects on the forum in mouse-over triggered tooltips, such as magic items, monsters or combat actions - examples being Adult Black Dragon and dash. To create tooltips in this way as these, use the appropriate [tag][/tag] around the desired subject.
Example: [ magicitem]sunblade[/ magicitem] (Without spaces within the [ ] brackets.)
Use the following within the [ ][/ ] bracket system:
action - an action taken in combat - e.g. dodge, search and ready
the end goal for adding in tool-tips is to have custom plugins for the editor where you can select an item/spell/monster/etc. and it will auto insert the tag and name for you. Definitely on our list.

Not homebrew at this moment, no. It's a feature that has been discussed, but if it is implemented it would probably be more of a number assigned to a homebrew creation rather than a named tag.

That's not a problem. However, it would be nice if we could overlay a display name instead of a number of our choosing ie
[homebrewMagicItem]412344,Lockbox-of-Guarding[/homebrewMagicItem] and it appears as Lockbox-of-Guarding
Also, I'd want to be able to use both the ones I create and haven't published to the world and the ones that are published for all to use.

I'd really like that, including in official content, because I'm (overly) concerned about grammar and it annoys me to no end to say something like "you can have a couple of [Bag of Holding]".

Over the weekend? O.o
I'll assume Monday and be pleasantly surprised if it happens earlier. :p

A dwarf with a canoe on his back? What could go wrong?
Nnggh. Go on, twist the knife!
Oh well, I like this thread, so those are welcome news in either case.
Will it include the suggestion for the forum tags from here?

You can ask Hartless nicely to type up a list, I'm sure I missed one or two of them anyway.

Nice!
Especially for new arrivals at the forums.
But... where are the tags?! O.o
I have now added the tags at the top of the Tooltips/Linking section!
I may eventually re-purpose that section given its lack of content, but not before there is a new, separate resource for finding tooltip information.

Awesome! Thanks!
Also, I think you can make examples of the entire tag without spaces if you use the "insert code block" tool in the editor (the last one).
Let me try:
Edit: It works! :)
Also, your examples made me realise that Demon Armor's page doesn't show any aberrant paragraph tags, but its tooltip does.
I had issues with code blocks before, but it may have been human error. I'll have a play around with the formatting.
Good catch on the Demon's Armor. Those crazy '<p>'s are on the loose again!
