My first time on the site, and when testing the character builder, I can grappler is the only feat available on the drop down list. Is this something I'm doing wrong? I'm using chrome browser on an android tablet if that matters.
Thanks for any help.
EDIT: Sorry I seem to have posted this in the wrong section.
Grappler is the only feat provided for free by Wizards of the Coast as part of the D&D 5th edition SRD. Other feats will need to be unlocked from the marketplace before you can use them on D&D Beyond.
While I think Curse/DDB staff deserve to be supported for their work by purchasing content here, if you really can't see your way clear to pay purchase the feat(s) you want, you do have the option of homebrewing them with the tools here.
Big question is ... How clearly is it noted on the front page that's the only one you can select?
Where on the front page do you think it should go? The front page doesn't provide any specifics on free vs. paid content. (Unless you mean a different front page that I do; I'm referring to dndbeyond.com)
The fact that limited items are free is front and center in the Faq, and there is a link to the faq at the bottom of the page.
That said, I do think it would be helpful if there was an explanation of the limits to free material on the page where one first signs up.
I'm thinking not so much when they sign up as when they go to create a character; if they try to select something in the paid content, then provide a link to it or an explanation. I could go on and on regarding the bugs still present up here, but I'll save that for another post. Different issues from here.
In the character builder, under races, it says "Looking for something not in the list below? Unlock all official options in the Marketplace." Selecting Bard college? "Looking for something not in the list below? Unlock all official options in the Marketplace." Adding spells? "Looking for something not in the list below? Unlock all official options in the Marketplace." Selecting background? "Looking for something not in the list below? Unlock all official options in the Marketplace."
I guess the only spots that do not say that is Ability Score increase when Feats are selected, and Magic Items, which when going to their listing pages it is obvious you need to purchase them.
I read something about turning content sharing on and off again if you’re getting it from someone else in a campaign. Whoever is hosting will have to do that

None of the other feats are free. If you feel obliged to blame someone for that, blame Wizards of the Coast; they're the ones responsible.

Hi there Shieldbunny,
take a look at the Pricing and Purchase FAQ which should help.

D&D Beyond can be used for free and contains information from the following "free to use" sources published by Wizards of the Coast: D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, and Elemental Evil Companion.
Content from other sources, such as the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, or Monster Manual, will need to be purchased from the Marketplace or accessed via another user sharing content with you via their Master Tier Subscription.
