When I view my character sheets, the portrait turns into a black square/circle. No idea why, just started happening recently after working fine for most of last month. Anyone else have this issue?
Yeah, I've been seeing it as well. It seems to happen randomly - different images are black each time, and usually not all of them. The portrait remains black when I go into the sheet, or if I go into the "Manage Sheet" page.
I resized my portrait and it worked. So I suggest you make your pictures smaller about 140x140 ish cause someone didn't include the resizer in the last update.
I had this problem using chrome and clearing the sites cookies and such worked for me. Go to settings, Privacy and Security, Cookies and other site data, scroll down to "See all cookies and site data", search for beyond and delete.
Hi folks. Following the cookie/cache clearing advice, I found some of the images returned. The next morning, lo-and-behold, all of the images were back. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I noticed this on some of my character sheets starting last week. Great job firing all those IT people. Really gives me a cool feeling re my Master Tier yearly subscription fee. Thanks, WotC.
I switched to Firefox from Chrome for D&D Beyond and this problem magically went away. Something in the code just fails to load images in chrome sometimes. It happens in sourcebooks displaying adventure maps or handouts too.
I did something similar, as I had originally signed up using Edge. Seeing your comment gave me an idea, so I booted up D&D Beyond using Edge and whoop-de-doo, problem is gone!
Clearly the issue is something to do with Chrome, just not sure what exactly is causing the issue, nor am I able to determine an effective solution.

I switched to Firefox at home (thanks for that idea) and Edge at work and it solved things for me, clearly a Chrome issue.

Couple of posts about this -
Mostly appears to be a cache issue. Clear the cache and all of that.
Because if you link your character (for others) - I've been able to see their avatar and even link to it. So it's there.

Cleared my browser cache, nothing changed.
Try clearing the site's cookies as well. The dndbeyond.com Ratings cookie seems to be the main offender.

Reminder for myself. Work together or fail apart. Talk with each other when necessary. Describe how, where, if, your character moved.

Clearing Cache and Cookies does not fix the problem, we found out. Any other solutions?
This is still an ongoing issue, weird how no one's addressed it yet.
Still happening in 2023.
No fixes, dndbeyond doesnt care
happening to me for the first time in years of D&D Beyond as of 11/4/24
This is the first time it has happened to me too, on November 4, 2024.
