It is not DDB's goal to meet that expectation to attract those customers, unless attracting those customers is worth the effort put into attracting them. If it's literally 20 of you asking for it, that's not worth their while. They can focus on something 100 people asked for. The idea that someone is entitled to a change just because they asked for it is an egotistical fallacy.
I'll chip in and say I do want them to actually add full backwards compatibility as promised.
Backwards compability means anything that wasn't included in the PHB revision is still legal and accessible, and are valid choices by the PHBs own description: "But the book contains many new or redesigned elements, and the versions of things in this book replace versions from older books." - The book does not invalidate all of the existing options from Xanathar's and Tasha's, on the contrary. It specifically says it only updates the PHB. This is not a new edition. It is a revision, hence why DNDBeyond doesn't even list a lot of XGtE and TCoE options as Legacy: Because they are not.
You're also making an assumption of how many people want X over Y. I can promise you, we are a lot more than 20 people asking for the full backwards compatibility with al older books that wasn't updated/redesigned.
You're stuck on the number "20" instead of the economic concept I am attempting to explain to you. The actual number of you is irrelevant to this scenario, EXCEPT in regard to the potential acquisition/retention of customers it presents in relation to other items they can work on. There could be 1 million of you who want that. But if there 100 billion who want something else more, it makes more sense for them to serve the 100 billion before getting to the million. The payoff for the one million is insignificant compared to the 100 billion.
The real issue here, is we don't have any of those numbers. However, I do know Hasbro loves money, so if they thought there was significant money/acquisition/retention in doing what you are asking, there would be a distinct push to do that thing as soon as possible. You are free to believe different. I am not arguing the point with you any longer.
The issue isn't the number itself, it is that you assume those you disagree with is an insignificant minority. You could just as well be that minority.
BUG (noticed 2024-10-01) : Two-Weapon Fighting style no longer an option in the drop down menu for Ranger's 2nd-level feature. It was there (I had added it to my character), but somehow disappeared in recent days. It no longer shows up on the digital character sheet either.
I tried creating another ranger, and option still missing.
Other BUG / ISSUE: Chosen Ability score improvement (Dexterity) not adding up when choosing the 2024 Speedy or 2024 Skulker feats. Character should be showing DEX 19, not 17, which she had at level 1 before the ASI.
I'm using a homebrew version of the 2014 Firbolg (no species ASI) with my 2024 Ranger, and a homebrew Hermit 2014 background (with no tied ASI), if that matters for some reason. Don't know why it should have any interaction with ASIs from leveling up...
Are you honestly going to look at the new classes, see that some of the Tasha's features are baked in standard but not all, and say "oh, that must be an accident, they couldn't possibly have chosen not to use those features"?
The intent is clear by the design. Anyone who argues otherwise is just looking to argue, not actually paying attention to the game.
This is a very dishonest way to argue. Several subclasses are also missing, and the book itself quite clearly just says it only replaces older elements, it does not say that several options are gone.
What’s new in the 2024 Version?
This is the 2024 version of the fifth edition Player’s Handbook. If you’ve read the 2014 version, much of this book will feel familiar, since the fundamental rules of the game are the same. But the book contains many new or redesigned elements, and the versions of things in this book replace versions from older books.
The actual answer is that DNDBeyond doesn't support it, yet.
This isn't about DnDBeyond. I'm saying to look at the classes and how they're implemented in the books. As far as subclasses go, you have a couple that were missed (Phantom Rogue, Arcane Archer Fighter) and the rest are third-party held up by some legal issue. Not the same.
The optional features were a part of the 2014 classes. The classes themselves were redesigned, which replaced every feature within.
If you're going to argue that not replacing those specific features means they carry forward, then you have to argue features left out of revised subclasses (Illusionist Wizard's Malleable Illusions comes to mind) also carry forward. It's both or nothing.
This isnt a major bug, likely more a visual glitch, but the Conjuration, Enchantment, Necromancy, and Transmutation Arcane Traditions on the 2014 version of Wizard are tagged as Legacy Content despite not being updated in the 2024 rules. This doesn't seem to be due to the level the subclasses are attained or an artifact of being on the 2014 Wizard, as the Bladesinging, Order of Scribes, and War Magic Arcane Traditions are not tagged as Legacy Content.

Not a bug. Anything from the 2014 PHB that was not updated to 2024 is marked legacy, as is the PHB 2014 itself. This was deliberate and announced.

i wish the great weapon master bug would get fixed and add the PB to your attacks if their idea was just to mainly add it for each attack then i find that lazy
Anyone still waiting on their physical PHB after order was cancelled? I got emailed that said "At least one item from your order #DDB00387750 has been canceled.". Opened a ticket 14 days ago and still haven't heard back.
paladins have a tab down on character creations that olets you pick a fighting stances but nothing shows when click on it just said you are granted a fighting feat.ft.

This is working for me and started working again for a Paladin I made a few weeks ago. It was broken for that PC but now works.
I wonder if this is a browser cache issue now? I just made a paladin and was able to choose a Fighting Style.
I've noticed some spell description/function inconsistencies within the character interface.
For example, the spells Bane and Charm Person show the text 'Targets +1' when shown upcast to 2nd level. But, for the Tasha's Hideous Laughter spell the text shows 'Creatures: You can target one additional creature for each spell slot level about 1', which doesn't explicitly tell you how many additional targets you can have, like the other two spells do.
Please correct any upcast spell like this to show 'Targets +1' or maybe even an 'upto X number of targets'.
Default class spells are not showing up, they should be available and always ready. Channel of divinity options checkbox is not present like with the old book.
Paladin, level 2, missing some level 1 spells in character builder.
Compelled Duel
Thunderous Smite
Wrathful Smite
These are all in the 2014 PHB and I have purchased that on DDB and entitlements are in sync. Logged out/in, cleared cache and cookies. I don't know how to verify now, after the fact, that I selected 2014 Paladin when I first created this character (if that's even a thing). But I can say that the Fighting Style choices offered did not exactly match the printed 2014 PHB that I have (has Archery, missing Dueling and Protection). Have I accidentally created a 2024 Paladin and does that class lack these spells? If so, is this a "start over" situation?
Some of the 'At Will' Warlock Invocations, like Otherworldly Leap or One with Shadows, only affect yourself. The DnDBeyond ui needs to add that qualifier in the text.

The Warlock Invocation "Lessons of the First Ones" is supposed to be repeatable, but cannot be taken more than once

Unarmed fighting doesn't work correctly. It shows 1d6 as the damage die even if no weapon or shield is being held.

When can we expect to be able to use the third party book subclasses on the 2024 classes?

Fix the access to Legacy Warlock invocations!!! And let us add homebrew ones!!!!!
Some of the 'At Will' Warlock Invocations, like Otherworldly Leap or One with Shadows, only affect yourself. The DnDBeyond ui needs to add that qualifier in the text.
After a closer look we recognized that it just concerns my Paladin character.
I‘m curious how long it will take to fix that.
The support emailed me that it has been escalated to the appropriate team…
