Soooo - will the legacy Invocations be implemented or not?
I mean, I'm simply asking - are these things PLANNED to be fixed or not? Because otherwise, I have to figure out how to do it via homebrew.
My Hexblade warlock player is super busy and flat out said if they must go back to paper, they don't have time to deal with it and will stop playing. The other four players don't want to continue the campaign since if they are added the warlock will come back.
We were told that we can Homebrew everything that was not brought in. I cannot find any way to create a homebrew INVOCATION or add it on. I am hoping I missed something, but I tried to copy the Eldritch Adept feat but it looks to be hard coded for only the starter feats. I really don't want to have to do a lot of work to fix something that had been working.
What I want to know is are they being added in. If not, I drop the campaign 9th level and start a new one and have to go back through every class and ban anythign that does not work perfectly or drop my player and try to continue on with it. Just let us know.

Homebrew invocations are not supported.
You can homebrew a feat to replicate the invocation's effects and instead of adding the invocation through the menu in the builder, leave the selection blank and add the feat manually instead.

Or use the invocation that lets you take a feat. (Though AFAIK that's still not repeatable.)

The legacy Invocations belong to 2014 Warlock, so either stay on 2014 rules for that Hexblade or have them pick new Invocations.
While it is not repeatable, you can do it by making additional versions of that feat. There re other things that are done that way. I remember seeing in, I think Class Abilities, Skilled 1, Skilled 2, Skilled 3, etc. While not ideal, not hard to do and only takes a minute to copy and rename.
I wrote my own app similar to D&D Beyond for my Savage Worlds gaming group. While there are a lot of design choices that I made that were better than how they are doing here, I can attest that D&D Beyond has had a LOT of work put into it. The largest design flaw is that so much of it is hard coded. It should have been designed to be more data driven from the start. That way, if something works for one thing, it would work for all of them. Part of me is thinking that perhaps homebrew stuff might have been made to suck on purpose to get people to buy stuff. The problem with that line of thinking is that things come out too slowly and the variety of ideas far exceeds what is published. And besides, sometimes a group might disagree on something that is published and have their own "better" version. So... it should have been designed to just work and not be hard coded.

Alas, it doesn't work for invocations like gift of the first ones

Yes. Just from the user perspective, I can see how much is hard-coded and special-cased. Warlock invocations are functionally indistinguishable from feats, and yet...
My brain so often dips in to the "how would I build it" question, though admittedly, database performance at scale is a complication that probably works against the model of "extremely composable primitives used to build all the things".
Also, now they're already using the original design, fixing it without breaking everything that already exists is a Hard Problem.

Supposedly, the homebrew tools were basically the tools they used to do the data entry. There have been things made possible since that aren't doable in the tools, which I suspect means those are added with raw database commands.
Well, I've never been on here, guess we can't make new posts so here goes? I've bought and own The Players Handbook, Tasha's Caldron of Everything and several others through D&D Beyond. They are in my library on the app and I regularly open them. I'm trying to put a warlock together with D&D Beyond and am unable to add or even searth Witch Bolt or Dissonant Whispers, lvl 1 Spells from the PHB. I also can't add or search Mind Sliver, a cantrip from TCoE. What gives?

Couple things here. First, Dissonant Whispers is not on the Warlock spell list and is generally only available to Bards. That's why you're not able to add it to a Warlock character.
Second, to use Mind Sliver (or any TCoE content) you need to make sure that "Expanded Rules" is checked on the Home tab of the character builder.
Finally, if you only own the 2014 Player's Handbook, make sure you are using the "Legacy" version of the Warlock class. You may need to scroll down to find it on the Class tab.
I'll check into the legacy thing real quick but I am currently looking at the Expanded Spell List for the Great Old Ones in the Warlock Patrons chapter and, yeah Dissonant Whispers in on here in PHB. EDIT: You were right, thx. Once I switched to the legacy class my spell list nearly doubled and they're all on there. SOLVED

Oh, you're right, I forgot about that. Dissonant Whispers should be available if the Great Old One subclass is selected. But again, you will need to make sure you're on the right version of the class and have that subclass selected. The 2024 version does not get a subclass selection until level 3.
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not as this thread is suuuuper long, but the 2024 Monk of Mercy bonuses don't seem to apply to Hand of Harm and Hand of Healing. I don't feel like taking a screenshot, but Unarmed Strike properly shows +3, and Hand of Harm and Hand of Healing show no bonus.
Just wanted to note. On the 2 sorc and 2 druid 2024 only characters i have built, spells are not showing Always Prepared in the Add Spells list, causing me to revisit once i see that i have duplicates.
When trying to level my fighter up to level 3, it does not show any 2024 PHB content as available. I do have access to the 2024 PHB rules and have checked under the licenses tab of the account to ensure the entitlements are updated. Anyone else having this issue?
If I add Metamagic Adept to a 2024 sorcerer, it only gives 2014 descriptions of metamagics.
I can't figure out how to make a homebrew 2024 version of the feat either? If I make a copy of Metamagic Adept it says the feat has no options, and I can't see where the metamagic descriptions are for me to change.
I still havent received a code for my preorder of the new digital playerhandbook 2024, I am living in Europe. Made a support case and after 3 weeks still no reaction., Is this normal? Any experience with support team and suggestions to get their assistance, i really want to get the code to get the digital version too. I did receive the printed version. Thanks for suggestions and sharing experience.

I have a separate issue where I haven’t gotten the preorder email with the bonus codes for the digital dice, etc from the combo preorder bundle and it’s been over 1 month with no answer to my case. It’s not just you and it’s insanely disappointing, and frankly unacceptable for a company this size.

this is one of the con to buying digital content: at some point you can't use it any longer when the company will decide to..

I noticed that too, it says "plus your Wisdom modifier" in the text if you click on it, but it doesn't actually add that in on the die roll button.

Can We please get levels next to each of the subclass features. Having to go into the character builder to confirm what features i have is annoying

The aid spell is autoprepped for clerics, druid and ranger. That probably shouldn't be the case.
