ENABLING CONTENT FOR YOUR CHARACTER
To use content from Uni and the Hunt for the Lost Horn in the character builder, you will need to set the character preferences to include the Expanded Rules source category (see the .gif below).
PREMADE CHARACTERS
Also launching along with this adventure are 6 Premade Characters! They're level 1 versions of the kids from the beloved 1980s Dungeons & Dragons animated series, along with Niko the Cleric, who recently tumbled into the D&D multiverses. You can find each of them below:
You'll note that there are a number of brand new monsters presented in this adventure! The following stat blocks are previews of those that will be found in the 2024 Monster Manual - and are likely to change before it’s full release.
Trying to figure out how Bobby has a 14 in Cha, and 16 in con, and both the great weapons master and an asi for the 4th level feat especially when the pre-made selection are for str increases. This is in regards to the pre-made level 4 version pdf that is available in the adventure.
Also, when I level any of the pre-made characters (having made them from the create new character option, not claiming the character from the above links) up in the app it doesn't show it when I go back into the character description screen after adjusting the level, and won't show anything but basic non-magic items in the manage inventory screen in app even with all character options enabled (works in web view). Also, won't show the items as equipped after equipping and attuning in web view. I have to copy the character to get it to update, which resets weapon mysteries, and ability score increases and won't update those in the character description screen unless I modify an ability that is changed by an asi or feat, then adjust all the things in the character editor (such as removing "copy of" from the name), then go back to the character description screen, refreshing and removing the custom modifier from the adjusted stat.
Is there a way Wizards can add in the credits some love for the original writers of the episode of the series the adventure is based on? I have fond memories of watching the series and the adventure follows “Valley of the Unicorns” very closely. I believe the episode was written by Paul Dini & Karl Geurs. Should they not be mentioned?
Did you turn Expanded Rules to ON? Their magic items are behind that toggle for some reason. Bobby's magic item increases STR to 20 as well. The rest I don't remember how I worked it out though.
Vague memories of going Level 1 -> 4, choose +2/+1 background boost (correct stats were always applied), add feat if they have one for level 4 or ASI instead. Spellcasters needed their spells adding manually too.
Why aren't the premade character sheets available in the adventure? I found them in this forum, but not as a clickable button in the adventure. It would be nice to have that option there so I can quickly put together a session and add the sheets to my campaign for my players to claim. I saw the new Scions of Elemental Evil uses the same sheets, but again, not available to add directly from the adventure.
Hi. I just noticed that something got changed in the last few days. I already created all the characters a while ago and they were all level 1.
(Which would be okay for most of the normal adventures, but not the Uni one where they are supposed to be level 4. But at least the level 4 sheets are still linked in the adventure itself.)
Today I tried to make them new but Presto always starts out as Level 9 and with the weird name of "Wizard 2 - Presto", while every other character is still level 1 and has kept just their name.
Also all of them are created with the ""Expanded Rules" flag disabled (so they don't have their items), but the "2014 Core Rules" enabled, even though these were specifically made for the 2024 rules.
The Energy Bow (added as Energy Longbow and Energy Shortbow in the character builder) shouldn't have the Ammunition property. The bow specifically creates its ammunition as part of the firing motion.
It would also be nice to see versions of this for the Hand Crossbow, Light Crossbow, and Heavy Crossbow.
I'm having the same problem as the others. I got the book because of my Master Tier sub (for the 12 days of Xmas promo) and so the book appears in my digital Marketplace. But I'm unable to access the magic items in the book, e.g., Niko's Mace
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Started playing 1e in the late 70s and stopped in the mid-80s. Started immersing myself into 5e in 2023

Are they (the premade character sheets) supposed to not include their magic items from the cartoon?

Also, I just noticed that Aid isn't always prepared for Niko as is stated in their spell sheet in the level 4 pre-made character sheet.

Is there a way to print the module? Just hitting print made the heading on each page replacing some text

yeah his stats are all messed up. there's no excuse for this to be so broken. i had to manual override his stats but why make DMs do that?
