We’re still playing 2014 I was working on a variant race of mine (think saurials for a quick idea) I tested it out on a character and the ability scores are not applying.
Well, I can tell you that your feat is all jacked up. Tell me, what version of the Barbarian are you using, the “core rules” version or the “legacy” version?
Legacy. Actually, this was all made before the change, I wanted to get back to making the Saurian's breeds (black, blue, green, red, white, and yellow). When I added it to the test character it didn’t affect stats.
But what feat is showing up, psionic ascension? That is an over powered feat that was added for testing. 😅
I’ve removed it in hopes that would fix it but no luck

Yeah, that was the one, but I didn’t just mean “broken” S in overtuned, I also meant it wasn’t functioning correctly.

Saurial is the base race, I put it in the Lizardfolk group, but made the variant (theropods) a variant of Saurial.
Hopefully these will help pinpoint an error and it is not the design or a bug.

What background did you give the character, a 2014 background or a 2024 background?
Also, did you check the tab of the builder with the Ability Scores instead of the one with the species?

Wait, does that mean in a variant everything will need to replace some feature and iirc subraces/subspecies never can replace a feature?
