Is there any plan to add Custom Backgrounds from the new book to the DND Beyond character creator? i don't thin there is any way to create a 2024 background at the moment (even in homebrew) that is also allowing you to choose an ability.
I am pretty sure its added just now
No, not for me.
Yes, I am fully synced.
i just did it on a test character for me, you ahve to manually add the origin feat if you create it through the builder otherwise it is functionally working for me. I can also create a new background outside of builder using the 2024 ones as template and add feats to it.
That's the 2014 background builder. No, it doesn't work. Check your character sheet again. It doesn't actually add the skill proficiencies or tools that you select.
Forcing us to toggle Legacy Content for essentially “duplicate” 2024 magic items is a terrible design decision. I get you’re trying to cut down on database size and complexity, but this is a function hack that will cause confusion and frustration across your entire user base. It also makes the Legacy Content toggle entirely baseless, since we need access to that content to access the majority of magic items. Plus, this further complicates the “let us disable 2024 rules” complaint.
This is an instance of cutting off the nose to simplify the face.
In the 2024 DMG in Chapter 4, the section for treasure hoards the reward for CR 11-16 is wrong. It says 8d8 x 10,000 GP (36,000) but clearly should be 8d8 x 1000 (36,000).
Just noticed that the potion of growth 2024 and 2014 are different, but 2014 was replaced instead of made legacy. Lasting 1d4 hours vs 10 minutes is a big difference for those that use the tools to add to the sheet or looking it up.
The DMG book referenced that DnD Beyond has a campaign journal tracking sheets available to download. Will they be available to everyone? Because I searched here and they were behind a paywall.

If you go to the Free Rules they appear there under "Dungeon Master Contents"

That's the 2014 dungeon master's guide. The 2024 DMG doesn't have treasure hoards based on CR, presumably because that's going to be in the monster manual.
The item "Wand of Enemy Detection" shows up in both the "Implements—Common" table and the "Implements—Rare" tables in the new DMG. Is the roll result for "Implements—Common" for 95-97 a mistake? Was another common magic item supposed to go there?
Enspelled Weapon description in magic item database has the description of Enspelled Staff. If you look at Enspelled Weapon in the source book it has correct description.
Pistol, Semiautomatic does not show up in character sheet. It shows some magical versions, but all of those show up as Ammunition. All the other modern/futuristic firearmsfrom DMG2024 show up fine.
Bomb, Dynamite Stick, Grenades (all), Grenade Launcher, Gunpowder only show Legacy version.
The chart in the Mobs Results table in the Mob section appears to have the results backward. It shows that the higher you roll the LESS monsters succeed. If this were correct it would mean that if a Mob of monsters roll a 20 then zero out of 5 of them would succeed. It's got to be a misprint.
I bought both physical and digital 2024 core books. I've found items in the DMG that link to the market place to purchase "old" books. good thing I have the physical copy.
examples
Bead of refreshments-On D&DB it's wants me to buy Xanathar's guide
Candle of the deep On D&DB it's wants me to buy Xanathar's guide
Cloak of billowing On D&DB it's wants me to buy Xanathar's guide

This is what happens when they try to "simplify" things by not making a new version or overwriting the old version if the item is "essentially the same". This was a horrible choice by the DDB devs.

Greyhawk Map on DnD Beyond is missing Cities
The version we get in the physical book has a map that includes more details; most importantly the cities.
Could we please get a high rez digital version of that map posted for DMs?
Thank you.

The updated versions of Elven Chain aren't available/don't show up.

2024 Wind Fan, is still attaching the Legacy version 2014 of the Gust of wind spell instead of the 2024 version.

Seems like the Mace of Smiting and Mace of Disruption descriptions are swapped.

This has been fixed. Thank you!
I've played every edition since 1980.
I’m old. 😂
In the Dungeons section of chapter 3 there is a mangled sentence:
"Because of their origins and purposes, dungeons have a range of think about its distinctive qualities."

Rings of Resistance for 2024 do not require attunement, however, on the character sheet they do.
