Hi, I pre-ordered the digital edition of DMG 2024 on 30 Oct from the market place and was able to access the digital book on the same day (Master subscription). However, I have yet to receive any of the pre-order bonuses (12 frames, 5 backdrops, and 4 sets of digital dice for your character sheet) that was advertised. My entitlements are synced.
Is this supposed to be normal? This is my first pre-order from the marketplace, so I am not sure how or when the pre-order bonuses are distributed.
I've opened a support ticket for the DMG physical version and have requested a replacement. As it turns out, books and rain do not work well together. The book is damaged and ruined.
If I could offer some feedback to Hasbro, please do consider improved protection for paper products before shipping them into the wild. Rain water went right through the box and was absorbed by the book and the internal map. Products shipped to me (even from private sellers over eBay) get some sort of insert or sleave protection as a curtesy. Your books arrive with very little protection from impacts and virtually no protection from moisture.
I'm certain a bean counter ($$) would tell me plastic was not used due to avoiding negative impact to the environment. Assuming this is a legitimate concern at the company, it is a fair one. Eco-friendly packaging alternatives do exist if Hasbro as a corporation are willing to invest in them.
Thanks for the help and for my moment of complaining into the void.
The 2024 DMG can't be downloaded in the Android app. I can access it just fine on the website, but it's not an available option in my "library" in the app. It should be "shared with me" like the 2024 PHB is through my wife's Master tier subscription.
Downloaded for me but I own the book.
Yeah, my wife, the literal owner of the book, is able to download it. And I'm able to download the 2014 DMG since its "shared with me." Just not the 2024 DMG.
I don’t know if you’ve managed to fix this for yourself or not yet, but if you haven’t or for anyone else googling for the same issue finds this as is how I did…
I have had the same issue and just fixed it by logging into my account on the website and updating my entitlements in my account settings. Suddenly the app went from telling me I needed to purchase the book to it being ‘shared with me’.
I pre-ordered the DMG 2024 physical and digital bundle through Wizards of the Coasts European partner site (dndstore.wizards.com), months ago. While the new PHB shipped a week in before being released, two days after release the new DMG has not shipped yet. I opened a support ticket but it is taking them a very long time to answer.
My players all have the book already through various other sources - this is getting annoying. Is anyone else in Europe having the same problem?
Multiple items on the random items list (https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/dmg-2024/random-magic-items) say "This content is part of the Dungeon Master's Guide (2024)" or "This content is part of the Xanathar's Guide to Everything" when you hover them, and go to the book shopping page when you click on them. Even though these items do exist on the DMG2024 and can be seen there.
These items are also not useable on the character sheets.
It's been almost 2 weeks since someone else reported this here
I'm having the same issue. Is there still no update? It's disgraceful that I can't use any items in a book I purchased. Last time I buy anything off the site.
The item "Wand of Enemy Detection" shows up in both the "Implements—Common" table and the "Implements—Rare" tables in the new DMG. Is the roll result for "Implements—Common" for 95-97 a mistake? Was another common magic item supposed to go there?
The folks have responded after a few days about my damaged DMG. A replacement is being sent at no cost. Thanks to the DDB team for getting this squared away.
The 2024 DMG version of Veteran's Cane appears with a lock and a message that it is part of the digital pack. This is while I am viewing the digital copy that I purchased, logged in with my master tier subscription, with my entitlements data synced.
It is saying the number needed to roll to hit. Not the number that the monsters rolled. So if the target is 20, only one out of ten strike. If the target to hit is 1, everyone strikes. I do think the number needed to hit for advantage and disadvantage are swapped though.
Firstly Dread Helm from DMG doesn't seem to exist on the site, only the old Xanathar's which I didn't buy. Secondly Armor of Invulnerability give the wrong resistances on the character sheet. Instead of individually listing resistances to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing it uses the combined form with "from nonmagical attacks" often used by 2014 content. Such a thing does not exist in the 2024 version.
Has Anything about the actual poster map being added been said.
I would like to have all the city locations on a digital map.
Nope. I know there are likely more important bugs to fix but it sure would be nice to know if it will ever be made available or if we’ll just have to wait to buy a digital copy directly from Mike Schley.
Noticed a bug, whle browsing the Armaments tables, the Veteran's cane entry was locked and lead me to the DMG purchase page despite the fact that I own the DMG and was browsing a table in the DMG. I can access the entry directly in the DMG, just not from the table.
Some magic items that definitely have artwork in the book (even something as ubiquitous as a Potion of Healing) are missing artwork online. Can someone do a sweep of all of the items without artwork and add the artwork in? I'd especially egregious on items like Eyes of the Eagle that have art for the *legacy* version but then got that art removed in the update somehow.
I have played D&D since I was 12 years old (1981). I buy all WotC D&D products, both electronic here and hard copy books. I buy electronic copies here of 3rd party products, just to be supportive (although I only use WotC published materials in my games). I am a Master Tier subscriber.
With the completely unacceptable failed launches of these two 2024 books, especially here on D&D Beyond, I have never been less interested in the game I love - including the move from outstanding 3.5e to utter garbage 4e. Get you frikkin' act together, WotC! FAST, or you'll lose my hard-earned money.

I see it still as a DM option. Do you mean for a player, or for a DM to create them?

Hey me again. Now that I have the physical version of the book, I can confirm this is a D&D Beyond issue.
In the physical DMG, the Wand of Enemy Detection does not show up in the Implements - Common table.
Physical DMG (Page 329):
D&D Beyond DMG (here):
Clothes of Mending from the 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide do not seem to be available on character sheets.

Sorry, I didn't see the notification.
I meant using 2014, we can create a Custom Background on DNDB and get like, the background feature etc.
Will a 2024 version of that be implemented (hopefully so), with like, origin feat, etc?

D&D Beyond Magic Item search does not recognize my purchase of the DMG, and links me to the purchasing page instead of allowing me to see the item.

Have you inserted the redeem code you got when you purchased?
