Wizards of the Coast canceled my dndbeyond.com pre-order for the physical DM's guide claiming something wrong with my payment method. They did not contact me, did not ask me to fix it, just canceled it. I used the same payment method as was used to make all my dndbeyond.com purchases and is still valid. This is entirely unacceptable. This is the epitome of poor customer service and WOTC showing little interest in supporting the people who love this game and this community. WOTC needs to fix this and not treat any of their loyal (I'm 40+ years playing D&D) D&D customers/fans this way....ever.
I had the same thing happen, recieved an email this morning saying it was cancelled due to a payment issue. BUT I also still show a pending payment on my CC I used so maybe they double billed? and fixed it? No idea..
There was a bug that caused them to automatically cancel orders. They said they'd fix it... it's possible that it was automatically sorted. Bearing in mind there's also an issue with the (incredibly badly set out) order interface that means a lot of people accidentally said they wanted all the books to come at once when the MM releases in February, and they could easily still have your order placed.
I would normally say contact customer support to confirm the status. However, that's a dumpster fire at the moment and they're taking so long to respond that tickets are being marked as "resolved" despite zero contact after a month or longer, so I'm not sure that will help. Try anyway, I guess?

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
I received the same notice this morning, though my DMG shipped yesterday and should arrive next week the 7th. I have sent in a support ticked, but hopefully they will respond here as well.
Mine is slightly different. I have a pending charge for the DMG but I paid for it months ago when I bought the bundle of the PHB, DMG, and MM for the deal they were offering. I got notice that my DMG was ready to ship and then I got a notice of cancellation and noticed that my credit card had been charged and should not have been. Could we get an official reply to what is happening from D&D Beyond or WotC?
I received the same emails this morning that my DMG and DM Screen were cancelled and I saw a double charge on my credit card as well with one of those charges being removed as if it was done in error. I ordered this along with additional content back in July and assumed I paid for everything up front. I don’t see any shipping notifications for my books but hopefully it’ll get taken care of.
Same story here - originally charged for the preorder back in the summer. Shipping notification yesterday (FedEx shows it coming today). Yet, I get the emails about payment failed and item cancelled. Third time something like this has happened to me with them.
I can't belive this is happening again! Didn't they figure this out with the Players Handbook?! It just seems so ameteurish for a company as large as Hasbro/WOTC. I don't think there's been a much dysfunction since the days of TSR.
I’ve still got my digital access and tracking says the book is on the way, so I’ll just double check the card charges tonight. Given that all the actual goods and services appear to be on track, I’d guess there was a billing hiccup and fixing it automatically “cancelled” what would have been duplicate charges.
Similar story here. Got notification that it was about to be shipped yesterday. Then, this morning, emails that payment didn't go through and that the order was canceled. Fed Ex shows that it's still on the way and arriving at the end of the week. I didn't have a master sub, so I didn't get early access to the DMG and it's not showing up as a purchasable option in DnDBeyond, so I'm cautiously optimistic that I will also have access to that when it become available to the public.
I ordered all three physical + digital in the bundle, and already received my PHB way back when I should have (a day early, in fact). I am quite confident they charged me for the entire amount back then, though.
Just FYI - Double-checked. My order page only shows my one pre-order for the DM's guide. It's fully paid, it's shipped, and no canceled orders are shown. I see a "pending" charge for roughly $39 on my credit card from yesterday - which would be a double-charge if it doesn't get canceled out (since I paid for the books already). I'm thinking that's the "mistake" (and cause of the emails) and it will get corrected - but I'll have to wait and see how the transactions update over the next couple days.

Also have the same thing and I see WOTC double charging me on my credit card statement. I'll wait to send out a support ticket.
Same here. WotC or DnD Beyond can reach out to me with a solution once the issue is identified.
Just got bit by this as well. My physical copy was set to ship, and then suddenly it's gone...

I received the same emails this morning. 🤬

I got these emails the day after getting the email that my order already shipped, so I'm just gonna ignore it.

My only worry is that the order number is the same between my bundled order and the one that was canceled.
