If I understand your issue correctly, selecting "V", for example, will show you all spells that include a Verbal component, regardless of whether they include other components as well.
Exclusion filters have been mentioned before, but in this case, I suspect it would be particularly easy - clicking a component twice making it red, the search ignoring those spells featuring the component.
It would work easily with multiple component combinations, too. Purple V, Red S, blank M, would show all spells that do have Verbal and do not have Somatic, whether or not they have Material components.

Currently the filters work as @Onyx mentioned, If you select M, it shows you any spell that has a Material component (and doesn't exclude those with V and S). I know staff had mentioned discussing this internally, so keep your fingers crossed.

I tried sorting spells by verbal , somatic or material component only and it will not separate them. Am I doing something wrong?
