There may be an issue with your compendium page being cached? Could you try going to the main compendium page and then hitting Ctrl-F5 to force a refresh, then try clicking on equipment chapter again?
Can you let us know what browser you are using? As Stormknight mentioned, it may be a cached page as the previous compendium landing had different links but currently I see all the chapters navigating to the correct location.
Clicking on the chapter 5 section in the compendium brings you to this link https://www.dndbeyond.com/compendium/rules/basic-rules#Equipment which is just the chapter select screen. I can't access chapter 5 at all.

Yes, very odd. Clicking that link you gave also takes me to https://www.dndbeyond.com/compendium/rules/basic-rules#Equipment
I tried Ctrl-F5, but no change.

I'm using chrome.
I went into history and cleared my browser cache and that fixed it.
