I'm trying to get the artificer class but I don't want to jump the gun if I can use product keys and they apply a discount or something.
I know you guys do discounts, like, every other day, but I was wondering if you do cash off instead of percentage off.
If, theoretically, your total is $0 because of a deal, coupon, or whatever else, will you still need to put location and payment method stuff in? I don't really want to go through all of that complicated stuff if I'm not paying anything.

Hi, somebody had the username "Kanon" so I had to put "Beyond" after it. Whoever had that username has made a powerful enemy. My Dandwiki account can be found at the link provided. I work on a big ol' campaign setting called Broadbarrel. You should check it out. Peace be with you, punk!
D&D Beyond has in the past done both absolute discounts (X dollars off) as well as relative discounts (X percent off) with the latter being much more common. However, there are no such codes of either type currently active right now; if there are any active codes, you'll usually see announcements all over social media plus a blue banner when you load the site.
As for your third point, there won't be a situation where you have a $0 cart as there's a heuristic $1.99 minimum transaction all purchases regardless of codes and discounts. As such, you will always have a minimum transaction to put through.
Also, it's important to note that even a $0 transaction would have to go through with location and payment methods on most sites as it serves as a means to authenticate and update entitlements on your account. You're not downloading a file that can be saved locally, you're adding a license to your account that must be verifiable each time you access the content, regardless of its current price.
In terms of "product keys" I take you mean the "redeem a key" feature on the Marketplace tab. On very rare occasions, a physical/boxed product will include a key for content on DDB. Examples are the Essentials Kit and some of Beadle and Grimm's luxury adventure box sets; in both cases the key unlocked the adventure included in the boxed set. I think it's highly unlikely that an "product key" will be released for the artificer. It doesn't look like Beadle and Grimm's Gold Eberron box included a key, and in any event their Eberron box is $250, so not worth if just for a product key even if it had included one.
When you add items to your basket and check out, you'll see an option to purchase the items as gifts. Selecting this option will generate products keys for the items instead of adding them to your account. You can then give these codes to other people who can redeem them against their accounts.
I wish that all D&D books came with a “key” that unlocks all of the content in that book. I have SO many physical books, but almost zero online content.

This article says you can purchase Product Keys and gift them like a gift card, but I cannot find where you actually purchase this.
