I thought PHB was part of basic content on this app. I already own the books. I halve to rebuy them all? I didn't mind paying for Xanthars since I didnt own that book.

The Basic Rules were in existence long before DDB: they were a free PDF WOTC made available so folks could experience the basics of DnD without buying the books. Later, WOTC released the SRD (System Reference Document), essentially an expanded version of the Basic Rules, for use with their Open Gaming License, or OGL, which let third parties create content for DnD. DDB uses the term Basic Rules to refer to both of these documents. That is what is available for free. For everything else, DDB has to pay licensing fees to WOTC.
You can also homebrew what you need, or, if you don't have the time to do so, purchase only the individual events you need. Any individual purchases made drop the price of the whole " book," if you decide to buy everything later.
Ive just purchased XGtE, and on my Android device at least ( I havent checked this on my hone pc yet), when I tap the 'Rivals' section or anything in the Downtime Activities chapter I just get sent back to the main table of contents.
Also, when I tap 'Racial Feats', the intro paragraph to the section loads, but there is no feat list shown.
Ok so I understand why stuff from PHB isn't showing. But the oath spells and expanded spell list from hexblade spells aren't showing. The spell list misses armor of agathys, and wrathful smite. I haven't checked the higher levels yet. These are supposed to be options on the spell list based on subclass from Xanathars but aren't showing. The Paladin spells command, hold person, and spiritual weapon are.
Yes, but they are added by the Xanthar subclass, so shouldn't it work?
Huh... that's a really good point. One of the justifications for not allowing non-SRD spells in homebrew subclasses was that it might break the system if those resources weren't owned by the account using the homebrew subclass. Hartless... bad boy, BAD!

No, they are used by a subclass in XGtE, however they are still classified as being from the PHB. XGtE doesn't reprint the spells in the spells section.
Divine Fury, the level 3 ability of the "Path of the Zealot" subclass to Barbarian, has an ability that lets you permanently choose a type of bonus damage you can deal. It is stated that the damage must be set at subclass selection.
Can this be something that can be selected from a drop down menu on the character creation page? The only two choices needed are "Necrotic Damage" and "Radiant Damage". Thanks! :D
Good call - that's added now.
Hiya! Sorry to be a trouble, but I'm unable to see these drop downs on the Barbarian character for my current campaign. Was this added or is it in the works? No worries either way; just checking. :-)
Hello,
Just checking in. I'm unable to find the Dropdown menus for the Divine Fury skill of Zealot Barbarians. Has it been added? Or is it pending?
A character with the dragon hide feat is suppossed to be proficient with the retractable claws the feat grsnts right? It doesn’t seem to add the proficiency bonus to the attack bonus.
Toll the Dead is an action that causes damage. It would be used in combat to inflict damage, and so should be an attack.
As an example, Guiding Bolt (which is used via the "Cast a Spell" action rather than the "Attack" action (see PHB p192)) populates into the Attack field. This is appropriate.
True, one does not need make an attack roll, but I note that the Attack field lists "HIT / DC" as a column, suggesting an awareness that there are plenty of spells that would be used in combat that do not require an attack roll.

If you wish, you can click on Customize, then 'Display as an Attack'.
But since it does not require an attack roll, it won't populate automatically in the Attack section.

Done! Thanks, that was very helpful!
For future updates, it would make sense if this was a default on spells and cantrips that cause damage. But this workaround is super-easy.

Considering how many spells deal damage, this would start to make the Attacks section harder to read if everything populate. As Filcat stated, only actions that have an attack (and thus an attack roll) populate in this section. You have an entire Spell section for spells.
I made a monk, and I got to level 3 and chose Way Of The Four Elements as my Monastic Tradition, and noticed that DnD Beyond allows you to choose two Elemental Disciplines of your choice at 3rd level, when in the description of Disciple Of The Elements on the website and the Player's Handbook it says that "you know the Elemental Attunement discipline and one other elemental discipline of your choice", not two of your choice.

Both Armor of Agathys and Wrathful Smite are PHB spells, not SRD spells, unlike the latter ones you mention.

Thanks for the update, but did this UI change? You can no longer add an additional bonus? All I see is a "fixed value" option

Toll the Dead is available as a cantrip, but does not populate into my cleric's Attack options.
Toll the Dead is not an attack.
