There is a toggle in the character settings, allowing you to turn Legacy Content on and off. Another that allows you to decide whether or not to use the expanded rules (Tasha's, et cetera, I assume).
There needs to be a similar toggle for the 2024 core rules. Would be even better if a campaign could be toggled to allow/disallow 2024 rules, as well as individual characters, but that's not super necessary.
I would say a toggle for all 2024+ content, but books may come out in the future that people may want to purchase and use with 5e (not 5.24e) characters.
Please stop shoving the 2024 rules down our throats. It only makes us less likely to continue with DDB, and certainly less likely to buy more content post 2024 to use with new campaigns, if we can't even filter out the core 2024 content from legacy characters/games.
Their choices have made my entire group refuse to use dnd beyond,
So that's 7 yearly subscriptions lost
All of other are just looking at other games now, if we have to go back to paper just to have control over our own characters we are simply just going to learn dc20 and draw steel instead
As mentioned above, my group will all cancel subscriptions when due for renewal in April. The system is unusable for 5e now, or at best needlessly complicated. I've bought this content in physical and digital form, it is beyond frustrating that I can't simply select the things I've paid for and now be forced into a default of your new ruleset. What's strange is, we were more than likely going to make the switch at some point, but we're mid campaign, you're actively making us not want to spend money on your IP. All in all, very weirdly implemented update.
Agreed. If people prefer using 5e, make a toggle to turn off 2024 content since it looks close enough like 5e but absolutely breaks the game if one person creates a class in 2024 by mistake.
Many long time users i feel are in the same boat, all books and content made for 5e are much harder to utilize and it will drive people away from using the platform in general.

To note: It's unlikely we ever get a book again that's meant to be compatible with the 2014 classes.
