A lot of us know nothing about streaming. For example I use Discord for audio with my players. Can twitch replace this? I’d like a newbie guide so it’s easy for groups to make decisions on how to get into this in a useful way. Maybe not streaming to the world but how does it work for small groups if at all? Especially, for those that are playing remotely from one another.
This community may leverage twitch a lot more.

Am I the only one who can't see the overlay on the streams ? I tried the announcement stream on twitch from my Mac's Chrome, Safari and Firefox and I never see anything. Do overlays need to be enabled somehow ?

Extensions currently only work on a live stream. We hope this is something that changes down the line however :)
------------
We released a quick few updates today.
- Fixed the issues where the config would error if you removed the player that gave you access to that campaign. - Fixed the issue where if you re-order characters, it could look like their health changed. - Updated the styles in the character select, to make it clear which state means a character is selected.
If you are already using the extension, these changes will auto update.
First of all, fantastic extension - excellent work making it a reality!
We at High Rollers absolutely love it, and it looks like people have already given feedback regarding customisation of placement and being able to rearrange the layout of characters to better integrate it into our stream graphics.
In particular, much like C-Team, we've got a box bottom right which would be perfect to have a stat block, and then rearrange the portraits so that they can be positioned under each player.
Either way, it's clearly very complicated and restricted by extension limits - but I'm looking forward to new features!
Upon taking a long rest, current HP does not refresh on the overlay, although taking a damage and healing does force a refresh. There wasn't a bug thread, sorry.

Hey Cybrwulf,
This is a good place to report things as well :) was this something you were able to reproduce a few times?
Tested on my end, and the overlay updates correctly, which is making me thinking there might be another issues with messages not sending.
- You can now change the order you want your players to show up in the extension by dragging them in place on the configuration page. - The player details tooltip will now also update while the tooltip is still open (instead of just after it is closed).
I have had this issue a few days ago also(HP has not updated after long rest).
Few questions to help us narrow this down:
When you took the long rest. Did everyone in the party also take the long rest at the same time?
If so, did some peoples HP update?
I did not have this issue during games player this weekend, but as I remember when it happened, it was two players has updated properly and two did not. I'm using only my account for whole group, so I'm not aware of any difference that could cause this issue.
Just an observation. I've noticed that the extension does not show on mobile browsers or the twitch android app (it does show up in android chrome if you set it to show in desktop mode). The overlay also does not show up if you cast to a chromecast. I am going to start streaming my D&D sessions here on Twitch (moving from Facebook live), and I want the extension to be seen by everyone. Will this be remedied soon? Thank you.

So this has a few parts. Twitch currently does not support extensions in their various apps (such as ps4/xbox ..ect).
They do support mobile extensions, but they work a tad bit different and require making a new UI just for mobile. It is something we are watching feedback for to elevate it on the roadmap, but currently is not on our short term roadmap.
I don't know if this is late. I hope this feature is panning out well.
That said, what I'd really like is some way to have this information...somewhere else, like screenshare on Discord or what-have-you, without having to broadcast to Twitch first. Could this be displayed on the campaign-level site (where you can see all the characters in the campaign), or can/will something like it be part of the upcoming encounter builder?
If you want to see the plugin in action, I run a fun little D&D stream on Twitch that uses it. We're streaming tonight around 8pm CST, then again on Sunday at 2pm CST.
I'm a big fan of the plugin. It's a great tool that helps viewers get a more in depth look at characters equipment, backstories, ability scores, etc. Just so much more content to provide viewers that helps with engagement.
I'd love this overlay just on DnD Beyond pages for now as DM. It feels dumb to have to stream to the web while sitting at a table with people but it's a great dashboard to track the party

I completely agree. Having a 'DM Dashboard' that allows you quick character management would be wonderful. Right now this twitch integration does some parts of this better than the site itself.

Good luck and thanks for the ongoing sponsorship!

I was thinking of trying out this overlay on a stream are there any shows on Twitch that I can watch to get an idea of how this looks in action?

Thank you, I'll have to check it out. Sorry i missed this, was out of town and off line for a few days.
