How do you edit the legendary actions section? It's greyed out, and doesn't appear editable at all. The screenshots from the example also seems to suggest the same 'greyed out' condition. I noticed that the example has no pre-populated text; however, the current default template inserts default text -- which would be fine, if you could edit it, but I can't see how you can. I confess it triggers my OCD when I see this text appearing in my homebrew monsters, particularly when they have no legendary actions to speak of.
You need to toggle on the Legendary Creature box, down where you put the info about Armor Class and Passive Perception.
So I'm creating a monster with spell casting, the form gives me cantrips and 1st-level spell slots but I want to add other slots, and don't know how to do so that it aligns with the other spells rather than being a new ability line. Does anyone know how to do that?

I may not be as cool as I think I am, but I'm much cooler than you think I am.
I would love to be able to great weapons that has bonuses against specific enemies. fx goblin slayer weapon which might be a +1 against anything else but goblins its a +3. right now the systems can't handle this which is frustrating for people. If a great a item that has +3 against something spefic it ads it to the normal stuff it so people add the bonus to everything they hit which is wrong. then we have the other side if I don't add it and just write it people forget to add the bonus.
Hey everyone, I previously posted this and we're only just getting round to playing the next session where I will be able to use this. I've had a few issues in entering it though.
For Cloak mode I've entered it as a base armour shield and in modifiers I've included a +4 AC (I know this will only apply to ranged attacks)
For Carapace mode I've entered it as a shield also, with a +1 AC.and my bonus speed to 10.
However, when I select either one on DnD beyond character sheet, both are increasing my AC by +2 and my movement speed isnt being added. Can anyone advise? I've clearly done something wrong, but cannot for the life of me work out what.
Hi! Totally new to this. But I noticed something in the Homebrew Subclasses. I'm trying to add a spell list to a subclass, and Grasping Vine is not available. Shocking Grasp and Maximillian's Earthen Grasp are there, but Grasping Vine is not popping up. Not sure what to do.

Hey, does someone have a explanation for how to do the "at higher level section"? I need to know how to do it for Cantrips and regular spells
I don’t know off hand, but if I needed to find out, I would try using an existing spell that can be upcast as a template and see how they did it there.
Sorry if this has been discussed before, or elsewhere, but I've read every post in this thread.
I'm trying to create a subclass (based on one from Mordenkainen's Codex of Allies) and I'm having trouble. For starters, I'm trying to add a feature where you can pick two (2) from a list of 6 proficiencies, or a tool. Is there a "Chose a proficiency" modifier type? It just gives me ALL the abilities, and allows me to select a tool proficiency in the builder.
Same with another Feature - ability to add a language from a list of 3. It just gives me all of them, and it doesn't show up as selectable in the builder.
And, a feature that allows the character to select one of 4 resistances that lasts a day, and reset after a long rest.
All that shows up in the Builder for those 3 features is a box that says " - Choose an Option - "

I've noticed this too.. Certain classes (features/feats/etc) that require you to pick specific things unlock that SPECIFIC modifier once purchased. For example, you can do modifier - Proficiency>'blood hunter skills'.. and this will allow the specific skills that the blood hunter can learn to be shown.. but for other subclasses, say Kensei, or tiger totem barbarian.. These aren't in the homebrew builder AT ALL, at least not until you purchase the respective subclass/feats/etc... and once you do, go again into modifier, Proficiency> and you'll now see 'kensei skills' ''x skills', etc.
They need to allow you to add submodifiers which will work around that but then again, they allow homebrew as it is, they don't want to give away everything for free :)
I really like someone else's homebrew, and want to just reword some of the intro for my own campaign - it won't be published. I can't find an option anywhere to be able to base a this adapted race on someone else's homebrew ? Will I need to create it from scratch?
Or potentially quality control (copies of copies of copies start getting weird) and avoid flooding the site with dozens of similar-but-not-exactly the same entries.

Ignore. Figured it out. Is Legendary checkbox. Enabled, delete. disable.

Where do I find a list or compendium of all of the BB codes and snippet codes?

So I'm trying to add a class feature from a level one class to a subclass... how would I do that?
When you add a feature you select at which level it is available.
Can you give more details?

When adding speed in a subclass, what's the difference between Innate speed and Speed?
I would like to add speed similar to a monk

Yes. You currently can't copy another homebrew. I assume it's about rights and respect.
