That worked thank you. I do have another question though. Can people leave likes or comment on your homebrew monsters?
Best Regards.
At the moment there is no commenting capability on published homebrew. This is something that has been requested, so it may be available in the future.
Having a problem creating a Shadar-kai, I can't seem to get the cantrips to be selectable in character creation:
"Cantrip. You know one of the following cantrips of your choice: chill touch, spare the dying, or thaumaturgy. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it."
I create a new racial trait, add the three spells in the spells section but it never asks or add them as a option when I try to use the race to create a character. Is there some button I'm missing or something? I want to create a bunch of the previous unearthed arcana stuff and publish it to homebrew, but I cannot figure this out!
I want to make a feat that provides proficiency in a skill, or expertise if the character already is proficient in that skill. How would I go about doing that?

Off memory, you need to use the options category under the trait to force a selection.
I have a homebrew race submitted that has 2 variants. The main race needs a small edit where I forgot a DC for one of the abilities. However, it seems creating a new version requires I make the variants all over again. Is there currently no way to simply assign the one's I already made? Or do I need to remake and resubmit the variants?
Quick question regarding Homebrew items, would it be possible to add a "Create Base Item" rather than "magical" so players could add new types of weapons?

Do not kill. Do not ****. Do not steal. These are principles which every person of every faith can embrace.
I couldn't find a place that seemed relevant for submitting Homebrew feedback, so I thought I'd add it here. Please let me know if there is a better place for it.
Two Three Four simple things that I've noticed in the process of Homebrew creation that make it a bit clunky:
If I click the Create New Version button, it would be great if the Version Number field could auto-populate with the previous version tag so that I can adjust it accordingly and not have to go back to the previous screen to know what version I was at. It would also be great to see some recommended versioning standards, but that might just be the software developer in me hoping everyone uses Semantic Versioning.
When creating a new version, it would be great to be able to provide a changelog of sorts where the creator can explain what changed so that anyone who has picked up the published content can know what is different now. It would also help remind the creator why they created a new version when they look back at things in the future. I have to imagine some sort of diff and changelog setup would make the moderation and review process of already-published content easier, too.
Related to this, I'm not sure if people who add Homebrew to their collection get some sort of notice when there is a new version, but that would be quite useful for both the Homebrew user and the Homebrew creator.
Show the version number on the Homebrew content's listing page. Even if it is just down at the bottom near my username, not knowing which version's page I am looking at leads to confusion.
I think the Adds column in the Homebrew Creations list is broken for new versions. It looks like it takes the new Adds value (which should be 1 as you are the only person with this version) and then applies that to the Adds value for the old version (which could be anything greater than or equal to 1) and incorrectly calculates a new total based on the content with the same name and not the content with the same name and version number.
EDIT: Out of curiosity, has a situation where the Hombrew creator deletes their account been planned for? It seems that you can't delete individual published content, which will be good for those who consume Homebrew content, but what if a creator decides to call it quits? Similar things have happened in various other user-created content systems (from JavaScript packages to Skyrim mods) and it can cause some challenges for content consumers and for any other content creators who happen to build on top of that content.
It's probably somewhere but can you make a new item and make it a finesse or light weapon? I see where items like moonblades can add the finesse property but how do you make that change so it's reflected on the character sheet? Thanks!
Just noticed something while testing out a Homebrew Background that I created:
If your Background has a Variant (with or without a Variant Feature), it doesn't seem to show anything about the Variant in the Character Creator or Character Sheet.
The Details Page for the Background correctly displays the Variant Information, but it appears that is the only place anyone would ever see it.
EDIT: Upon further testing with non-Homebrew Backgrounds this appears to be an issue with Variant Backgrounds in general.
Is this the expected behavior? If so, why allow Variants at all?
EDIT 2: Also, it would be nice to be able to automatically opt out of keeping old versions of your own Homebrew added to your Collection. While publishing some typo fixes and general cleanup, I ended up with 4 different versions of the same Background in the Character Creator's dropdown.
I must be overlooking something. But I can't figure out how to add a racial bonus to an ability score. Any help??
Add a racial trait (usually named Ability Score Increase) and save it, then add a modifier to it for each ability score you want to give a bonus to. Each modifier is of type "Bonus" and then subtype "X Score" where X is the ability, and set the "Fixed Value" to the amount of increase.
It's probably somewhere but can you make a new item and make it a finesse or light weapon? I see where items like moonblades can add the finesse property but how do you make that change so it's reflected on the character sheet? Thanks!
Unfortunately I don't think you can do this. You'd have to use a "base weapon" that already has the properties you want.
Is there a way to add bonus hitpoint / temporary hitpoints from a homebrew magic item? I'm trying to do create a homebrew item and other modifiers show but HP/THP do not.
Question on magic items; is there a way to add a class-specific bonus when creating an item? For example, if I choose to start with a Rod of the Pact Keeper and modify, the built-in modifiers for it, the bonuses are specifically called out as for Warlock; there's a "Bonus: Warlock Spell Attacks" and "Bonus: Warlock Spell Save DC". If I start from scratch, I just see a generic "Spell Attacks" option, but not ones for individual classes; the dropdown for Modifier Sub-Type just has a generic "Spell Save DC", and not "Warlock Spell Save DC" or "Bard Spell Save DC".
I'm trying to create a lute for a bard that should give a +1 to Bard Spell Attacks and Bard Spell Save DC, and I can't find a way to filter it just on that class. It's a multiclass character (Bard/Warlock) with a Wand of the War Mage, and those bonuses are correctly calculated for the Warlock attacks (the character has no attack Bard spells, so it doesn't matter on that side). However, when I create a new item and add the lute, I can't filter it to just Bard spells, which means there's an additional +1 getting added in to the To Hit rolls for Eldritch Blast and friends. The bonsues
I figured this has probably been discussed at some point, but I searched the forums and didn't find a reference for it. Am I missing something obvious? Is there a way to do this, or is it one of those down-the-road features?

Thanks for the answer. I hope that there are plans in the future to do this. Doesn't seem that hard and I think would be used a lot.
Some feedback (but maybe I didn't look very good, so, sorry if it has an easy answer).
- Our DM allows us with every ability score improvement (1th, 4th, 8th, and so on) to also take an additional feat. Currently I am solving this with overwriting my ability scores, but when I do, other bonus from items or conditions aren't calculated anymore. Any help?
- I couldn't find how to add proficiency in tools, only the reference in the description of the tools. I learned tinkering as a skill on my wizard/paladin, how can I let it appear in the skill list?
- Our DM let me choose a spell per level to which my wizard is immune to, but I can only select certain damage types to be immune to (cold, fire, ...). Any help?
- I saw on the forums that there is no possibility to adapt the number of spell slots or number of spells prepared by a wizard. Is this still true? Any ideas to bypass it?
EDIT: Another issue found: I tried to creat a homebrew spell. Initial damage on 1th level is 2d8, with 1d6 for each higher level. It doesn't show on the players spell screen when you try to cast it on a higher level (you know, whilst clicking on the + button)

Why is there no homebrew for Subclasses? They are one of the most interesting things to homebrew... Or am I missing something?
The ability to homebrew subclasses is currently being developed. :)
