This has a fully customizable dark mode for the site and instructions on how to use it. You can also find links earlier in this thread but this has better instructions.
A lot of sites have a night mode or dark mode, featuring dark backgrounds with white text. It's quite popular, and I'd love to see this site with one. I use D&D Beyond almost every day, so it would be a cool accessibility feature. Easy on the eyes, and pretty easy to implement.
the fact this is 3 years old and has this many likes makes me feel like they don’t even read these. The white back drops are so bright it makes it unpleasant to use in a dark game room.
We do have a dark mode now! You can toggle an Underdark mode on your character sheet. Furthermore, you can change the background of your sheet to several different dark shades.

I think you're misunderstanding the request. The interest is in a dark theme for the entire website (not only character sheets).

I saw the light/dark mode but didn't know what it meant. (I'm new to gaming with online tools.) So an info pop-up explaining what it does would be helpful.

Compromise where you can. Where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, "No. You move."
The company I work for, which produces a much more complicated, much more expansive piece of software using a web-based interface that had been built bits and pieces at a time over more than a decade managed to do it in about 6 months.
Yes, we make more money that WotC does. But we also had many, many more things to work on and maintain, improve or add at the same time, whereas WotC has to do little more than maintenance on this site: it's not as if they're continually adding new features and functionality, much less those that require deep, complex integrations with other systems, reams of custom code to support legacy industrial and manufacturing equipment, security issues, and on and on and on.
The only real excuse is that they just haven't bothered to try.
I've been struggling with the background for a bit now. Like everyone, with most of my browser sessions in dark mode, I now have disadvantage on any site with a bright background. I've found it helpful to enable underdark mode on all of my character sheets and I then adjust the theme and background color to dull the radiant appearance a bit. I'm still like a vampire on a lot of other DNDB pages, but for those of you that spend most of your time in your character sheet, this may help a bit.
To enable underdark mode:
Click on your character portrait
Click on CHANGE SHEET APPEARANCE
Toggle underdark mode
The other settings for themes and backdrops are there as well.

There is an Underdark Mode now in your character sheets. Check it out.
To add, there are high contrast backgrounds you can choose as well to darken everything.

its okay. i have a plug in that just flips black and white.
I’m really struggling to understand why this is still a problem. Put in a day/night mode! RAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGEEE! Lol
Ah I came to the forums to make a thread requesting a Dark Mode. Kinda sad this one was made 2 years ago and still isn't a Dark Mode.
The pure white is really really hard on my eyes. At least just make the white background grey or something.

There is always the workaround of installing Stylus and the Dark Mode theme (see https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/general-discussion/129340-dark-night-mode-for-dndbeyond-website-and-stylus?comment=1 ) but that does requires the will to install a client-side plugin on your browser. Still, that might suit your need!
But yeah - a native Dark Mode was/is/should be in the work... Thought I haven't heard any news about that in months!!
