Well, I guess I will add my name to the list of subscribers that would find this as an added benefit. Some sort of organization is needed, for characters especially. Can we have a moderator to give us an update on where they see this as a priority in the roadmap please.
I see this is an older thread, but I'd like to bring it back to the forefront. I'm guessing like most DM's I'm creating NPC's for use in my campaign. I would like to be able to organize them. Please integrate this with the campaign feature as well and please, make the option for an NPC to belong to a campaign but not be visible to the campaign players. I made the mistake of creating a homebrew magical item with visibly set to private and it almost derailed my game. Hope this makes sense... still haven't had my coffee.
I love this idea of folders and/or tags. I run three campaigns at home and school and would love to keep the NPCs and baddies separated from my player characters. Going down the list every time is frustrating and slows the game. Just my two cents :)
There's been a lot of activity on this topic. I will say that there most definitely will be changes coming to the my-characters page. The approach we'll be taking is rolling out incremental updates over time, as some of the updates will be coming along with other "features". The first iteration of updates to the page will probably be some simple filtering and sorting. Future iterations will be more complex and user-friendly interface changes. As per our norm, I can't commit to any specific time tables, but we do hear you and there will be updates coming!
I'd love to have the ability to create folders for my Homebrew Creations, and share those folders with others - and to search through other people's folders. Each folder should also have a description associated with it and have other people able to comment on the folder as a whole.
This would allow people to more thoroughly 'curate' homebrew items and to share large sets of high-quality homebrew items easily. As-is, finding high-quality homebrew items can be a slog.
Basically, similar functionality to Steam Workshop mod collections.
This would also be a good first step towards introducing more granular campaign permissions, as giving permissions to use a certain folder would work well.
Really hoping this is going to be a thing one day. As a new user and DM, I'm really hoping that we get folders eventually. The filters are nice, don't get me wrong, but I've very specifically not made many characters yet because I don't want to clutter up the menu. Even better, being able to assign a folder (or multiple) to campaigns would be an extremely useful feature to have.
Not sure if this has been suggested or brought up before but I didn't see a thread on it SO
Character creation is possibly my favorite thing in D&D, and as such I have a LOT of characters. Having the search functionality added to the Characters page was a godsend on the site, and I was wondering if there's been any thought given to the idea of allowing users to create folders to help organize for those of us who are making full use of the unlimited slots from paid subscriptions.
Is there any way to sort your created PC's in the "My Characters" page? I'm my groups DM and I have a subscription account so I can create as many PCs as needed. This includes characters for a few different campaigns, NPCs, and test characters. It would be nice If I could sort them into folders or tag them by campaign for easier access. Are there any plans to implement this feature? Does anyone else think this would be useful?
In the August Developer's update, Badeye said he wants to see organization/folders happen. It wasn't on the "in progress" or "upcoming" lists, though.
If you are using Chrome on a computer (not mobile), the Beyond Help Chrome extension provides a way to do folders/grouping.
A potential workaround for the monsters, etc. is to use tooltips in the DM notes section of a campaign.

Even the Compendium -> Rules stuff is getting too long, if possible we need a dropdown menu or something.

I would liked to as my 2 cents on this. Would love to be able to sort my characters.
Private Campaign, Adventure League, Concepts, Other...
I'll throw in my hat too. Having folders would make my life a lot easier

I am excited this was already brought up and that changes are forthcoming. I look forward to being able to sort my characters!

I mostly want this so I can better organise my collection.
I also want the ability to get a text dump of a homebrew so I can pass it on to other people not in my campaigns without making it public.

This Chrome extension does folders and a lot more: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/beyond-help/aojmegjchfjmkgmihimpplblfalnpdop

This would certainly be useful. I'd very much like to separate my active characters from my NPCs, and test character sheets.
On My Characters page, I have a "CREATE A FOLDER" button in the top right that seems to allow this sort of thing.
The Beyond Help extension for Chrome provides this (and many other) functions to the site.

Interesting, I don't seem to have this.
I would love this, I'll use the extension but sometimes i like to work on characters at the library where i work
