I just want to tell everyone "happy gaming" and actually mean it. Whatever your game is, just have fun with it, it is after all, just a game.
I am a newbie player in Asia, and my English is pretty limited, please don't mind.
I hope the free contents in DDB can be adding to official Basic Rule and compendium in DDB to make it easier to search. Some item like firearms in Equipment List are tagged "Basic Rule", but relative rules are not in Basic Rule that I can't know how firearms work.
Custom traps, I know this sounds like a weird thing to add. But I also like the custom classes, but custom traps would come in handy for a future concept for the custom classes like okay you want to be a trap master and I know that you can custom make weapons and items, but some traps are different like the acid floor, etc.
From what I've been messing with, why is making homebrew items so wildly limited? Why do I need to pick a base weapon to start with if I want to make it from scratch? What if I want to make an assault rifle that does 3d6 or 3d8 or x damage damage instead of 2d8? What if I want a pistol's range to be slightly longer or shorter? Why can't I tweak these properties to show on the character builder? If it is possible to do, why isn't the means to do so more transparent?
A redesigned character sheet which is organized by function rather than source. I want all my abilities together in one place; I don't want to have to go digging into my class features for one thing, my feats for another, and then go to yet another card to mark off expended charges from the stuff I found in the first two.
I gather there is a character sheet redesign in the works, but it's been in the works a long time.
Having not read any of this.. It would be lovely if in the homebrew section it were possible to add the ability to create relative junk items.. as it is im required to call every non-equipment item i add to be a Wondrous Item.. which really shouldn't be the case if i am just incorporating crafting material and reagents... please add a Magic Item Type of "Miscellaneous" or something..
So, here is a weird idea, how about having ALL the information actually appear ON the Character Sheet! If your PC has a Class Feature, have the ENTIRE Class Feature appear on the Sheet! If your PC knows a Spell, have the WHOLE Write-up of the spell on the Character Sheet! Both D&D4E Character Builders did this SO much better! Why can't this do the same? I'm just curious about why this glaring flaw hasn't been fixed yet.

Can you provide an example of a class feature missing? As far as I have been able to tell they show up under the class features drop down, I wasn't aware of anything missing. I know spells are an issue for classes that don't normally cast spells since they don't have a spell section.
Homebrew Monsters/NPCs. Homebrewing an NPC could be a simpler, stripped down version of character creation. Homebrewing a monster could be really easy, too. This could actually be the same function. EDIT: yep, i'm a dolt. Just saw that. But still!
Homebrew DM Roll Tables. This can't be too hard, right? Imagine sharing roll tables! In a blue-sky world, it could even be integrated into the homebrew item directory.
Homebrew Dungeon schematics/maps/designs.
DM TOOLS and functionality!
Adding items to player's inventories (i think this is in the works?)
A dead simple soundboard. Imagine five atmosphere tracks that I could put on a loop. Dungeon sounds/swordplay or combat/tavern/cathedral. You could just use that old DND album on spotify. Just put a few tracks available to loop
Digital DM Screen. I'm paying for the Master Tier, and all the info is available throughout the various books that are shared in my campaign. (Of course I already have the DM screen! I'm just saying, just in case)
If I want to search for a specific rule it's silly even on a compendium search how many modules will jump in the way of the information I want.
I bought books on here so I could search more efficiently from the books then thumbing through pages.
However, if I want to show the optional flanking rules from the DMG to my players I can't just search DMG for flank. and I get Curse of Stradd, and then I get Prince of the Apocolypse and all kinds of other garbage I wasn't looking for.

Hi Chiatroll, your feedback is of high interest and I would love to help by learning more about your experience. Thank you for sharing it!
Search is essential in the D&D Beyond experience, so documenting ways in which we can improve it in the future are of high value. If you have the time, could you share with me additional specific D&D rules you've searched for in the past, where you were unable to quickly get to your goal? Can you walk me through how you would foresee a book specific search to function from the global search bar? ...from the advanced search? Could you share with us if there other ways in which Search can benefit you better or times it has been challenging? Please, feel free to direct message me your feedback if preferred.
I hope to discover better techniques to approach rule related searches and search suggestions in the future to be more efficient for all users.

Hey! I definitely agree with the OP on this. I feel like, as a general rule, that Rules should show up first, especially before segments from adventures. Or better yet: A dropdown by the search to let us pick like... "Rules", "Character Options", "Monsters", "Adventure Content" etc? During my Sunday session we needed to remind ourselves of the rules regarding Shove, but it was around 10th down the page, after a lot of adventure stuff and feats that just made the search really frustrating.

I would like to be able to add the content I've purchased physical copies of. One copy of Volo's Guide, Elemental Evil, etc. should be enough.
One of the main things that I'd really like is for them to integrate the Unearthed Arcana items (playtest) with their data base.

Speaking of what we want.
When is the Xanathar's Guide Invocations going to make it to the main warlock page? We still only have the core book stuff.
DM
@Figaro_Bluebottle: You can already homebrew monsters! :)
@MellieDM I am... a silly person. However, the rest of my suggestions remain!
