Will other books like Explorer's guide to wildemount or the third party content be added to the 2024 character creator? If anyone knows please let me know.
It really depends on what the hold up is. If it's just "getting around to it" or "we need content creators' permission first and that's taking time", then they will.
If on the other hand it's a policy not to, then they won't.
The thing is, we won't know until they get added. My instinct is telling me that they won't, or at least that it will not be for a long while yet. Why? Because here's the bit that's not making sense to me. They've just done a lot of the work getting all the 2014 subclasses to work. Doing the 3rd party at the same time would have made sense, and wouldn't have been much more work. They could even have added them at the same time as adding them to the 2014 classes. They also would have been able to get permission to make them 2024e compatible at the same time as they signed them on for 2014e, so that's not even a valid reason.
Which suggests to me that it's intentional, at least for the moment.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.

Slightly more optimistically I think it is just that they’ve been too busy to get round to it, the release of the PHB has been far from smooth and the moderators on the Ghostfire Gaming discord have said they’re unsure where their upcoming stuff will fall because DDB are basically too focused on that to do anything else . However I’m less optimistic about which 3rd party stuff will be updated. I think Ghostfire Gaming, MCDM, Hit Point Press and Kobold Press are a good bet as they’ve ready announced more upcoming collaborations with them so it makes sense to make all their stuff compatible. However Critical Role I’m less optimistic about because they weren’t in the upcoming 3rd party announcement and with the launch of Daggerheart they may be distancing themselves from D&D

Maybe.

Do we have any positive indication that they're looking to distance themselves from D&D, or just extrapolation from things that didn't happen?
Nothing positive but almost all of the content on their new streaming service has been using one of their two new game systems rather than D&D
