Hey everyone! I’ve been building a new druid character and used AI to generate her portrait. This is the Satyr version, and I’m really excited to share it with you all!
I’m imagining her as a playful, Feywild-inspired character with a deep connection to nature. Does this design capture that mischievous, nature-loving vibe? What do you think of her overall look?
I’d also love to hear your thoughts on her character! How do you think someone like this would fit into an adventuring party? What kind of personality traits, backstory, or role would be fun to explore with her? Should she be more chaotic and trickster-like, or perhaps a protector of nature with a bit of mischief thrown in?
Any ideas or feedback on how I could develop her further, both in terms of appearance and backstory, are super welcome!
Hey, thanks for checking out my post! I’d love to hear your thoughts on her design and personality. Does she feel like a Satyr to you? Any suggestions for her backstory or how she’d fit into a party?
Edit: Also, the more ideas the better! If you know anyone who loves character creation or has experience with Feywild-themed characters, please share this thread with them! Let’s get as many creative minds involved as possible to help shape her story!
Edit Two: Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out my thread! I’ll be back tomorrow to check in on any new ideas or feedback you have. Feel free to leave your thoughts, and I’ll make sure to respond to everyone. Can’t wait to hear what you think about my Satyr druid! I hope I have some fun replies soon!
Hey, thanks so much for the feedback and for the compliment on the pic! I appreciate it!
Backstory: I haven’t fully fleshed it out yet, but I’m thinking of making my Satyr druid someone who’s deeply connected to the Feywild—maybe as a protector of a sacred forest or a guardian of nature who’s had a rough history with outsiders encroaching on their land. I’m still working out the specifics, but I like the idea of them being playful and mischievous, but with a deep love and respect for nature. I’ll definitely keep working on it!
Character Sheet: I don’t have a sheet posted yet, but once I’ve solidified the race and subclass choice, I’ll create one! I’m still debating between Wood Elf and Satyr, so once I’ve nailed that down, I’ll be sure to update with a link.
PC Portrait: I used ChatGPT to create the portrait, so it’s a mix of some prompts I gave it to get the look I wanted. I was going for something that felt Feywild-inspired—a little whimsical but still fitting for a druid.
Looking forward to hearing what you think about the backstory, and I’ll make sure to update the character sheet soon!"**
You've got lots of choices ahead of you that will really impact the mechanics and flavor of your druid, esp. backgrounds (open to all content, legacy, 2024, custom?), ability scores (you might want to lean into CHA b/c of your Satyr ancestry), Warden/Magician, subclass, diety, possibly using a piety system, etc.
Thanks for the thoughtful response! I definitely have a lot of choices ahead of me, and it’s exciting to figure everything out. I’m still considering the background and ability scores—leaning towards something with CHA due to the Satyr’s natural traits, but I’m also curious about which subclasses would work well with that. Would love to hear more about how Warden/Magician might fit with this kind of build, too!
Warden, if you're imagining your Satyr druid using martial weapons (and medium armor), and engaging in melee combat; magician, if not. I'm biased, but the advantage of Warden is that it allows you to cast a ton of druid spells that have short ranges and require you to be within melee range (typically 30 ft), esp. lower level spells like Primal Savegery, Thunderclap, Conjure Woodland Beings, Thunderwave, Conjure Minor Elementals. Conjure Woodland Beings and Conjure Minor Elementals are the most powerful druid spells under 5th level.
Re subclasses, Moon if you want to engage in combat while wildshaping. IMO Land is the best because it gives druid's the largest spell list to choose from, including Fireball, Lightning Bolt, and Stinking Cloud which are not available to the druid base class (Lightning Bolt is available to the Circle of the Sea). That said, the best subclass is the one you'll have the most fun playing.

Do you have a link to your D&D Beyond character sheet? Also, if you want feedback, you need to tell us you about your PC's backstory.
The PC pic is awesome btw. What tool did you use to create it?
