Indeed, the 2.9.1 release will fix it after Roll20 changed their game URL. The update is available on Chrome right now, but it's still pending review (for 2 days now) on Firefox and Edge stores.
hoping someone could help me be a little less confused about how the DDB Encounter Builder can be connected to monster tokens/character sheets on Roll20. I know that Beyond 20 maps/connects using Character names, but my encounter has 3 of the same creature and I can't 'name' them in the encounter like I have in Roll 20 (Knoll 1, Knoll 2, Knoll 3). Help?!
I assume you've named the Tokens in Roll20 as Knoll 1, etc.
If you select the token first, then roll initiative in D&D Beyond then repeat that for each token they'll each show up in the encounter list individually with the value you rolled.
hope that helps

When I use the Encounter builder in DDB, it sends the name of the monster through Beyond 20 to Roll20 along with the results. Is there some way to prevent this from happening, so that the players are not being told what monster they are fighting?

There's an option in roll20 to disable syncing of the combat tracker.
What most people do is to ensure, before they start an encounter that they have the tokens in the map with the appropriate name to match the encounter, and any of the monsters that are hidden will remain hidden in the combat tracker. Any monster that doesn't match an existing token in the map will appear as "Unknown Creature" (it's also configurable in beyond20, check the advanced options) in the combat tracker instead, to avoid spoiling it.
last couple weeks a lot of the sheet buttons at beyond stopped rolling dice in roll20.
like saves. the die icon comes up and adv/disadv hotkeys change the icon, but no dice rolls happens when clicking to roll saves, attacks, dmg, etc.
Instead the equipped item or save side bar description pops open when the normal click to roll sheet element is clicked on. On the sidebar description a "roll20" button is seen for attacks, ,and that can be clicked to roll the attack and dmg all at once. Is this new way of behaving intended, or is this a bug and the sheet element ought to be sending a dice roll to roll20? On saves there is no "roll20" button in the side bar description like with attacks. I just have to /r 1d20 manually at roll20 for saves right now.
My group has had luck with right clicking on the button that pops up the 'advantage/straight roll/disadvantage' menu and selecting the appropriate choice and clicking 'roll'. It's a few extra steps, but it's been porting the rolls into Foundry for us.

Thank you! The last two sessions were such a PITA without the software working properly.

Yeah, lots of changes have been coming in breaking various extensions. They even broke a lot of character sheets and had to do a rollback due to it looking for background feats (in preparation for 2024 I suspect) that didn't exist on older characters. The game log scrolling has been broken for months and it's a 1 line fix. If they are having to fix their own issues they certainly aren't looking to worry about ours though lol.
Thanks for your work into getting this working again week after week.
Thanks @artemisthemp!

In the meantime, if you use Firefox/Edge and can't switch to Chrome temporarily, just make sure you use https://app.roll20.net/editor/ url to access your game instead of the new https://app.roll20.net/editor/?oauth_check=1
Thank you all!! Got it up and running again!!

Keep in mind also that DDB is frequently changing things on their end here right now, which keeps breaking the functionality of Beyond20.
using 2.9.4. and Chrome.

Version 2.9.5 pushed out to the app stores. Keep an eye out for that to go live after approval.
Version 2.9.5 is available on Chrome and it fixes all those issues.
We hope the site won't break the extension again but we've seen a lot of changes in recent weeks.
