The signs of its return are everywhere: strange occurrences, the appearance of twisted creatures from beyond the veil, and a foreboding darkness creeping across the land. Most troubling are the “Marked”—mortals who have inexplicably been touched by this otherworldly force. These individuals bear strange scars, exhibit unpredictable abilities, and experience vivid dreams of a vast, incomprehensible entity writhing beneath the world. They are feared, misunderstood, and hunted by those who see them as harbingers of doom.
The rulers of Aethoria ignore the growing chaos, dismissing the rumors as mere superstition. But as kingdoms fall into chaos and entire cities vanish overnight, it becomes clear that this is no myth. A sect of scholars, the Sentinels of the Veil, have uncovered fragments of a prophecy foretelling the release of the Boundless—and with it, the unraveling of the world itself.
You and your companions have all been Marked, drawn together by fate and the growing sense that your actions may determine the future of the world. Whether you seek to understand your new powers, protect the innocent, or simply survive the coming storm, you will be thrust into a series of events that will reshape the world.
