Enough players have left the game recently that we need to rebuild our numbers. The game can be played with 3 to 10 players fairly easily. You'll be level 3 and joining a new adventuring guild called The Golden Company. It takes place in the Dragonlance setting, and you're helping a newly established (and struggling) rebel base as they prepare to resist the Green Dragon Army.
I'll be honest. Some of those who dropped off did so because I can't post frequently enough. I have to deal with chronic illness, and the meds make me incoherent. When I'm well, I can post every day. But sometimes, the best I can do for a whole week is tell you that I'm still here and will post as soon as I have the brain power to do so. I'd say my posting frequency rounds out to about 4x per week. When I can post, I try to make up for my infrequency by introducing rich storyline, fully realized NPCs (with goals, personalities, ideals, hobbies, etc) and an open-world vibe that lets you define the direction the game takes. I try to be worth the wait, in other words. If that works for you, then please join my game! I think you'll really love it!
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online, Play by Post on DnDBeyond Experience: Any experience level is fine Location/Timezone: irrelevant Schedule: try to check in daily. I understand if you can't, but if you need to go inactive, please let us know whether or not you'll be coming back. Roles sought: Players... 2-4 preferred. No more than 8. Game style: It's set in a desert that is suffering from a particularly bad drought. So, there's definitely a survival aspect to it. But the game includes political intrigue, war, murder mystery, and puzzle solving. There are plenty of opportunities to RP (as PbP is always RP heavy) but there will be plenty of gridded combat as well. Use of the terrain in combat comes with benefits: flanking, high ground, called shots, etc. So combat strategy is a big part of the experience. But so is discovery and foraging. Knowing how to scrounge for resources could turn up a variety of boons, from alchemical ingredients that can be sold to vendors, to magic infused insects that grant limited flight when consumed. Whether you like to fight, forage, or explore, getting involved in the setting really pays off.
Hi there. I love join your pbp game. I love Dragonlance and read many novels from old time. I did run the Shadow of the Dragonqueen in roll20 and had great fun with that. My online game time is very variable (I have kids) so a pbp fits me well. I can post often but never have time for a 4 hours session.
I am from Norway and hope my english will be good enough.

Awesome! And you're just in time. 😊
I'm about to close recruitment now. Follow the build notes and build a level 3 character please. Once you're ready, I'll go ahead and send you the invite link.
thextraxBigman27826 and Larskolstad You're all in if you can get me some character sheets. Once I see your sheet, I'll send you an invite link.
You'll be joining a small adventuring guild called The Golden Company, so be sure to incorporate that into your character sheet.
As far as how you join the party, I have a few suggestions:
You could be an adventuring mercenary who felt the call to join Santekh's struggle, then learned about the Golden Company and is currently offering to lend a hand.
You could be one of the refugees who has been following The Golden Company's local rise to fame and was inspired to take up arms in their cause.
You could be a member of the local tribe, the Hachakee (great for Barbarians, Rangers, and Monks) who was sent as a substitute representative of the tribe. Hachakee tribe members a fluent in Common and Hachakee. They can also roll INT checks to understand and speak Yipyak even if they don't have it as a learned language. They also have Advantage on Diplomacy checks with members of the Santekh council and other Hachakee tribe members.
A quick note on alignment:
Alignment is meaningless in 5E, so I changed the definitions. Alignment has more to do with how you wish to be perceived by new NPCs rather than how you are expected to play your characters. But also, the definition of the axis has changed. Morality has been removed from alignment.
Law to Chaos has to do with your regard to authority. If you are comfortable with taking orders and prefer a structured system, you are Lawful. If you distrust authority structures and can be ungovernable, you are Chaotic. If you believe in the need to have a structured society, but resist legal constructs that violate your own morals and ethics... that's Neutral.
Good to Evil has to do specifically with your compunctions towards killing. If you insist on solving problems without using lethal violence, you are Good Aligned. If you enjoy the thrill of lethal combat and tend to leave no survivors, you are Evil aligned. If you kill when you must, and spare whom you can, that's more Neutral. A good person can have an evil alignment, if they believe that killing is a way to serve the greater good. This is the case for most soldiers, mercenaries, and adventurers. And an evil person can have a good alignment if they believe they can cause more pain and harm by keeping their enemies alive to suffer.
On that note, you don't have to provide an alignment. Providing no alignment means that you'll be perceived as Unaligned. And you will have to earn your reputation through roleplay and action. But having an alignment will attract certain NPCs to you and repel others. Potential allies and quest givers who are looking to hire someone to kill some monsters will be more comfortable speaking with an Evil aligned PC. Those looking to reward titles and privileges within a structured society may prefer offering those benefits to someone who is Lawful aligned.
If you have any questions, please PM me. Otherwise, please post your character sheet here.
