I would also like to find a group in Regina. I farm south of the city, but could come up weekly or whatever for this. Have played before, but not in a long time.
i just found out a guy i work with has a group he plays with. going on 3 years now with a lvl 9 character. he is gonna tell me if they want any new players, so ill let you know what i hear.
My name is Terry and I am looking for a few more committed, experienced players to join a semi-regular D&D 5th Edition game at my home in the North West end of Regina. I am a veteran gamer in my late-40's and I have played D&D in all its incarnations since 1979 (they call us "grognards'). I am an avid collector of D&D, HarnWorld, Tekumel and other fantasy RPG settings. I have amassed more D&D / gaming books than I could possibly use in three or four lifetimes, so I have a great deal of experience and material from which to draw for my games.
I say my group is "semi-regular" because we try to play every second Friday, but it's tough to get everyone in the same room at the same time these days. As you can imagine, it's very frustrating trying to find mature and respectful players looking for a fun but serious game in this city. Our gaming community is very small and somewhat fractured due to the resurgence of boardgames the past 5 years or so.
I have met and hosted a great many players in my time ... players come and players go, but the dice still need to be rolled. As with most social-type games, players leave due to real-life conflicts / family issues, some try the game, but get their fill and move on to other things, some literally move away to other parts of the country, and unfortunately the odd player leaves due to personality conflicts with others or disputes about the game itself. It's sad when players leave - but it happens.
I'll be honest - I'm looking for a particulartype of D&D player ... but I don't mind "new" players as long as they:
- are mature and respectful to both myself and others - provide their own books, dice, materials, etc. - are actually willing to learn about what D&D is and what it isn't - actively contribute to the campaign / gaming experience
Some DM's are reticent to allow new players because the perception is that many of the new crop of "gamers" tend not to understand or embrace the "spirit" of old-school D&D role-playing (which I am desperately trying to bring back to my table).
I'm definitely NOTlooking for any of the following types of players: - Rules Lawyers - "Chaotic Stupid" players - Meta-Gamers - Cheaters - MinMaxers / PowerGamers - Evil Players - Agenda Pushers
If you are unsure of what any of those type of players are, take a few minutes and google them - and you'll understand why they are not generally welcome at most gaming tables.
Currently, I have two regular players and three "semi-casual" players (who make it out when they can), but I am hoping to bolster the ranks with folks that really want/can play on a regular basis.
Anyway- if you are interested in possibly joining my group, or knowing more about me and / or my game ... feel free to send me a PM or you can email me at metal.demon@sasktel.net
I would so be down for another game but I have a weekly game going right now and anther weekly one starting in a month or so. The other guys on this thread might be down
i'm looking for a group in the Regina Area. I'm in my late 40's and have a job. i want to try to play a couple times a month. i have played as long as you and have been a DM for almost as long as I've played. I have played Pathfinder/D&D 3.5/D&D 5e and many other systems. I'm a non smoker.
- Rules Lawyers not here! - "Chaotic Stupid" players Neutral good for me! - Meta-Gamers Nada - Cheaters oh my word! - MinMaxers / PowerGamers This is the worst and I wouldn't dream of it! - Evil Players They can be such a pain! - Agenda Pushers The only thing i push is love and positive attitudes!
if you might be interested, let me know as i'd be keen to join the group!
I am From Regina, Saskatchewan, and am looking for a group to play D&D with. I am a disabled person so getting to and from a game might be a little difficult for me, but if anyone is running a game, I have made some characters for myself on D&D Beyond here that I could play. Please send em a message if you are looking for another player. I have not played in around 15 years, but I do have a good understanding of the game.
So I have been trying to start a game with some friends from work. A few of them are not able to make any commitments because of time constraints. If you and your friend are interested I could then start up the game for those interested. I've been DMing for about 9 months now. If interested message me back :)
Hey everyone, I'm a semi new dnd player who is looking for some people from my area who are my age [I'm 16] who are either willing to play or dm a campaign. I would be willing to try DMing but, like I said, I'm still mostly new to the game.
Thanks,
Ben
