At A Glance:
"Something is killing people in Palebank Village, and if the characters don’t stop it, they might be next. “Frozen Sick” is an adventure that takes place in the continent’s Biting North region—the bleak arctic realms of the Greying Wildlands and Eiselcross."
What: A play-through of the "Frozen Sick" adventure for first level characters. Select a pre-generated character or BYOPC (bring your own PC) if they fit the guidelines below. Encounters will be run in D&D Beyond's Maps. Interactions will be via Discord (text and voice). I have included additional maps for locations not covered in the adventure text.
When: Targeting Saturday, February 15 2025, 5 PM - 10 PM ET (GMT -5). Additional sessions as needed, TBD. If a Session 0 or one-on-one sessions are needed I will schedule them ahead of time.
Where & How: Reply here and I will send you invitations to the campaign and to the Discord server we will be using. You will obviously need a computer, an account here on D&D Beyond, and an account on Discord. A headset with a microphone is highly recommended. Text will be provided for players with hearing difficulties.
Why: I'm an experienced game master looking to gain proficiency with running online games. I love to world-build and I have tons of original content but what use is it if nobody can play it? If I level up, I can start offering original adventures in a unique setting and I can do it in a way that makes it accessible.
Who: You! Players may select any of the pre-generated characters that are available. Other characters are possible with the Dungeon Master's (aka, DM) permission, but must be generated in the D&D Beyond Character Generator using only the Free Rules (2024 edition), The Basic Rules (2014 edition), and/or the Player's Handbook (2014 edition) as sources. You may optionally use one of the playable species from Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse, excluding the Shadar-kai. Ability Scores should be generated with either the Standard Array [ 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 ], or the Point Buy system. The character must be a 1st level character. The DM reserves the right to reject a custom character for any reason.
My Gaming Philosophy: The Four F's -- Friendship, Freedom, Fun, and Fair-Play.
All the TL;DR stuff is down here in the Spoiler tags:
One-Shot Beginner's Adventure
This "short" adventure is intended to be a one-shot. A one-shot adventure is intended to be played in a single session of 4-6 hours, or no more than three sessions of two hours each. This is not intended to be part of a long-term campaign. Moreover, this is intended to be suitable for beginners who are just learning to play, or who are learning how to play online.

The Four F's: My personal gaming philosophy boils down to these four aspects: Friendship, Freedom, Fun, and Fair-Play. All interactions will be friendly. The players should be free to make their own decisions, and if the party decides to run amok I'll try to roll with it. The goal is fun for everyone. I will run a fair game to the best of my ability and expect fair-play from the players too.
Accessibility, Accommodations, and Safety
The DM will make every effort to accommodate any disabilities, personal triggers, or trauma responses if informed, and to be as agnosticly inclusive as possible across a wide spectrum of players. This Official D&D adventure includes themes of prolonged sickness, disease, violence, and death which are unavoidable and the possibility exists that player characters will be exposed to and contract a disease which is fatal unless cured. This adventure as written also implicitly references a same-sex union. If these themes are triggering for you, please consider not playing this adventure or let the DM know ahead of time so that they can be addressed appropriately.
All interactions should try to stick to a "PG-13" mindset and be considerate of other players. The DM reserves the right to decide how to resolve any interpersonal conflicts or safety issues that may arise, including removing a player from the campaign and banning them from the Discord server. The Discord server is configured to filter explicit images and to auto moderate any terms referring to sexual activity. It is not configured to moderate violent or insulting speech because, well, this is about role playing, darn it! However, the DM will moderate the Discord server as they see fit and players should abide by any posted rules on the server as notified.
Tools and Tech
The Game will be played using D&D Beyond sources, the online Maps tool for encounters, and Discord with the Avrae Discord Bot to facilitate gameplay. You must have Discord installed on your computer to play through this adventure with this DM. We will be using both voice and text channels. If you are on the voice channel for this game, a headset with a microphone is recommended. Dice rolls in either the Encounter map or in the text channel using Avrae commands will be honored. Safety Tools may be used and are TBD, but public or private chat with the DM is always allowed if there is an issue. The DM is not responsible for any technical difficulties that may arise.
Hello! I’m brand new to D&D and I’d absolutely love to try playing! I don’t really know how the dice works, or how to make a character sheet though… but I’d love to play! Your campaign sounds interesting! Are you still looking for players? My time-zone is PST, and I’m pretty free a lot of the time! 😄
After doing a headcount, I can take one more player if anyone is interested. If you would like to be on a standby list in case someone drops out, please leave a reply here or send me a private message and I will reach out to you.
