I am not looking for any pay for play groups.
Hello there TTRPG players, DMs, Storytellers, GMs etc! I (he/him) am a 44 year old player that's been planing TTRPGs on and off since I was about 14. It started with FASA's Mechwarrior, moved on to West End Games Star Wars 2nd Edition, then onto 2nd Ed DnD, 3.0/3.5 Edition DnD, Pathfinder 1E, Star Wars D20, a smattering of Shadowrun, 5e 2014 edition and a little bit of Pathfinder 2e.
Thanks to a recent conversation, I figured I'd add this to expand on the kind of game style I'm looking to play. I'm fairly balanced between the main pillars. Combat, Exploration, Role play and story. Unless the story and character calls for it, I tend to stay away from the murder hobo style play, and I'm very much not fond of any kind of PvP within a campaign/party. Sure, Mind control, Domination etc happen, but outside of in game mechanics, I prefer when a party works together than at odds. In the rare times I've experienced PvP, it never ended well. Lastly, while I know some people enjoy the verisimilitude that goes along with the things like inventory management and the like, its sadly not for me. I'll keep track of consumable items, ammo, and the like, and ensuring I don't exceed encumbrance based on my characters stats, but anything further than that unfortunately tends to take me out of the mindset needed for the game.
What I'm hoping to find is a group running either edition. Be it Homebrew or Premade, I'm game for either. Just for clarity, I've already experienced Waterdeep Dragon Heist, Storm Kings Thunder, and Lost Mines of Phendalver. Most of my experiences in DnD tends to be Homebrew campaigns over the many years I've played the various editions.
However, I can count on two hands (barely) how many campaigns I've seen to completion. As with many of us, I've experienced many of the reasons most campaigns fail: scheduling conflicts, friends moving away, players losing interest, player and DM burnout. I'm always game to see a campaign to the end, and will do my best to help make it happen.
As for the type of group I'm looking to find, definitely one with players closer to my age, and life experience. A good natured, laid back player like myself. I know when to be serious, and I know when to laugh at a ridiculous moment happens (and in my experience in DnD, it happens more than we think). I like a good mix of RP, combat and exploration, and I do love a good story and mystery to explore. I also love to help new players learn the game. I also understand that life happens, and I'll do my best to adjust my availability (provided its within the days and times listed above) should the need arise.
I'm more than willing to answer any and all questions potential tables may have. Feel free to reach out, and I wish you all the best in finding groups and enjoying your games!
Hello, Truxartus! My name is Shay, and I am a DM who has been running games from a multitude of genres and titles over a span of 19 years. I started with palladium, moved to DnD 3.5e, then DnD 5e, before working with Middle earth roleplaying, starfinder, Gurps, and recently Cyberpunk. I have a few games with spots for them, so if your interested, hmu at godlike23 on discord, and ill set you up for a review before adding you to the server. Thank you, and I hope to see you soon!

Still looking for a group. And to add some entertainment, figured I'd add a really bad joke:
Why do Paladins prefer chain mail?
Its Holey Armor.

LOL, love the joke. I have a campaign that might work for you. If you are still looking send me a PM or a message on Discord at Khaos88 and we talk.
Updated the post to reflect a bit more detail into the type of game I'm looking for.
As with my last post, another bad DnD Dad joke:
Do you know why adventurers love their healers?
They're the life of the party.
