While I'm happy to see the addition of Gem Dragons to 5e. I think this tome would be incomplete without my favorite type of dragon: Steel Dragons. Can you confirm if the Steel Dragons will be in this volume?

Unfortunately I know the same amount of information you do about the next book! I'm excited to see what might end up in it.
Per the pre-order page: "exclusive character sheet customizations and dragon-inspired digital dice". They'll probably show off the dice a week or two before the book launches.
I'm not sure if I'm going to get the book, but the art looks great!

Well, I don’t know, but ten dragon types will be included in it, and only five of those will be gem, so who knows?

This isn't actually a signature, just something I copy and paste onto the bottom of all my posts. Or is it? Yep, it is. Or is it..? I’m a hobbit, and the master cranial imploder of the "Oops, I Accidently Destroyed Someone's Brain" cult. Extended sig. I'm actually in Limbo, it says I'm in Mechanus because that's where I get my WiFi from. Please don't tell the modrons, they're still angry from the 'Spawning Stone' fiasco. No connection to Dragonslayer8 other than knowing them in real life.
doesn't help much as there's no lore or flavor or anything...but there are steel dragons in 5e already - https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/stalagma-steelshadow (just reskinned though - it'll be interesting to see what they do with steel dragons if they fully flesh them out as each legacy edition treated them with significantly different abilities)
Will this let me play gem dragonborns? Or is that in another book?
It's this one.

I pre-ordered this book and now with the "Birthday Celebration" it's on sale for less than I paid. Is there a way to get credit for it or am i just SOL for being a good subscriber and pre-ordering early?

+1 to this - I'd like to not be punished as an early-adopter. I'm fine with being a 'whale' customer for D&DBeyond to a certain extent, but a partial refund on preorders for the 3 books that aren't out yet but got this 20% birthday discount only now would be only fair to ardent supporters of the site.
Yeah, it's a bit of a bummer. I'm my group's DM so there's sort of an unspoken rule that I purchase all the content—would have loved to save a couple of bucks on these books if I knew about this sale in advance. Would love site credit if possible but I doubt that's something they can do.

This happens to everyone. Todays regret is tomorrows caution. Just be mindful in the future that you should wait closer to release, as there is no advantage on buying it three months to three days early. Just early.
Sorry about your luck, but once you have been using DDB for a while you will know that there is always a sale at some point between pre order and release. I don't pre order anything until a sale or, and this has never happened, i would pre order it a day or 2 before release.

These responses don't make sense. Why should paying customers act okay with this? I'm a huge fan of DNDBeyond, but it's not even remotely unreasonable to feel screwed by being punished for preordering a book I want when DNDB announces it, just because they happen to have a substantial sale going on not-yet-delivered products in between.

I do not think there is anything wrong with how companies do sales. Sales has been going on ever since money has been invented, and anyone can just as easily argue why negative behaviors like impatience and impulsiveness should be rewarded the same as positive behaviors like patience and savviness.
You can always contact customer support to ask if they allow a refund, and then repurchase the pre-order with the discount. Some stores allow you to return a product and then repurchase the product immediately and apply the discount.

It's not unreasonable, but you aren't entitled to a sale price to a product you already purchased here. As a consumer, knowing your rights and limitations is something you should check into before you enter into a purchase. Here on D&D Beyond, all sales are final. It's not that I don't have any empathy or sympathy for them, but I'm also not going to sit here and +1 something that has no true recourse.
You can file a refund request there for your pre-order, but that's on them if they want to process. I can take no stance on what their solution/remedy would be for any particular case.

I’m probably gonna get it. Looks really good and I love dragons.
Normaly they say so 8 days before it's released.
