Creatures section for renaming and adding notes works exactly like it does for equipment in the character sheet. Say you have petDire Wolfor whatever animal or monster, once added as a pet, familiar, mount, etc. you then mouse click on its standard name and a side window springs out and there in that side menu you look for a bold Customizeand click on that and below that a drop down with a blank field appears with Nameon the left of the field. So that field you fill in and whatever you type in will override what its usual name is. I usually keep the of the original name in parathesis so mine usually looks like its name and creature type so this example would be... Spot (Dire Wolf) and both show up as the end result but you can do the custom name however you please. Further down past, that field is size, type, alignment, etc.that you can also easily customize or not as you please. Below those is a blank called notesfiled add whatever as well as misc. catch-all field.
All same, same as equipment where if you want to rename your short sword and call is Pig-Sticker! Hope that is of some help... but from what it sounds like what you want to do is totally doable!
I don't see that this supports the use of the Find Steed or Find Greater Steed spells, as customization will not allow for altering the NPC INT stat as far as I'm aware. Will this be addressed soon?

You can make a homebrewed version of the mount by simply copying it and then upping the Int.
Sorry but I didn't know where else to post this that would make it possible for you guys to find it but I was wondering since there are items that allow for additional beneficial and detrimental properties. Why don't these items have a drop-down tab that allows you to pick from the appropriate list? If you guys haven't thought about this yet I thank this would be a really good addition to the site, and maybe even add an additional creation tab for making our own properties for easy additions.

You posted into a thread about Creatures with a topic about Items.
Then you should have created a new thread in the Feedback forum. Oh well, you'll know for next time.
However, I will advise what you propose may be difficult because Items currently don't support "options" very well and what minor/major properties the artifact grants will vary a lot. While that is all relatively easy, albeit time-consuming, to implement the difficulty lies with the fact that the lists of such properties presented in the DMG are not exhaustive, they're just examples, and DMs may invent their own as the entry encourages ("You can choose such properties from the tables in this section or determine them randomly. You can also invent new beneficial and detrimental properties. These properties typically change each time an artifact appears in the world."). This 'invention' option would be rather difficult to code up. Since DMs are meant to customise the artifacts before presenting them, it seems like they may as well just make the homebrew copy and add the specific properties directly themselves. It achieves the same effect, in the same amount of time, with the same level of user difficulty (for DM-invented properties) without any of the headaches and weeks (potentially [and more likely] months depending on infrastructure and organisation) of coding for the dev team who frankly have a lot more important things to be concerned with.
Great in theory, not so much in practice.
It's a good idea, don't get me wrong, but the impracticality means it's extremely unlikely to ever be put in place. Still, it's good you took the time to offer such a suggestion. Please do continue to make suggestions like this for other things you think would be good to implement. :)

Is this supported in any way for the PDF export?
It would be nice to be able to include pet information there,

Looking forward to using this to help my halfling fighter keep track of his Mastiff mount!

You can already do that. On the character sheet, click “extras” and you can list your mount there.

Right. Just meaning that I just learned about this, so I'm starting to use it now and looking forward to playing with it.
I added both a mount and a familiar to the sheets of my PCs, both easy to figure out. Great feature.

Awesome, can't wait to try it out

Yes Because I couldn't find an item thread that dealt with updates.
