Is there any way to restrict what content is shared, e.g. Which books, races, etc?
Is there any way to hide things from search results? E.g. If I buy an OotA and my girlfriend will be DMing, I don't want necessarily to see it show up in my searches. Or is the only way round that toforgo the Legendary bundle and let her buy that book?
We have thought about building in the capability to allow the campaign members to decide what all content should be cross-shared. Like an opt-out by source ability. However, something like that would not be in before launch.
And if I'm DMing, will I be able to disable any material, including Basic Rules material?

I still think you're missing a trick by not offering a higher priced subscription that includes all core content. I'd gladly pay $10 a month to be able to make characters for my players using any core content. The 4e digital tools had the perfect format.
Agreed.
10$ Subscription that unlocks the core rule books at least. And maybe 2-3 year old other books.
Also in agreement and disappointed that no team members have acknowledged this, even after saying feedback in the pricing announcement was being heard. I would even be happy with $15 a month. This is just exactly the same thing with a more thorough explanation. I think I will just stick to my books.

I'm no admin, but I don't want a flat subscription rate to access all D&D content. I, personally, don’t like that idea for the following reasons:
a) If I ever fall on hard times again and can’t pay my subscription, I lose all my content, no matter how long I’ve been a subscriber. That’s renting and I’d rather buy.
b) I don’t really need all the content. There’s no way I’ll have time to even read, much less run all the adventures in print. If you do, first of all, wow! But I suspect most groups can’t.
c) In the long run, a one-time purchase of only the content I want and can use will be cheaper than a higher subscription fee. If someone wants to buy everything, Curse announced the legendary bundle for an additional 15% off D&D Beyond’s relatively low prices.
Will there be a way for me as a DM to create characters ahead of time in my campaign, then give ownership of the pregenerated characters to players who join ?

All valid reasons. So why not allow both options and allow customers to choose what they like. Probably would attract more customers.

To avoid confusing people with even more options?

Feedback being heard and executing on all points of feedback are entirely different things. We have also acknowledged this topic several times before on these forums.
I assure you, the feedback has been heard, but we are not able to offer this kind of subscription option.
That feels unintuitive. How about a "create character for this campaign" button that auto assigns?
That is how it will work. It should be fairly intuitive. It's hard to use words to describe interface actions - I'm sure all of this will be far simpler once you're able to do it.

We have heard this feedback and will likely include whitelisting sources in the future. It will not be in at launch.
This would be the same as having all the physical books at the table and letting the DM dictate to players what is or isn't allowed - for now, it requires table enforcement.
I feel like the table analogy fits very well for the master subscription. Everyone sharing books around the table rather than one person bringing them all.
Awesome stuff. The ability to allow different members in the group purchase different adventures (for their turn as DM, for example) makes the whole thing even sweeter.
Shared content, like books around a table, just made this even better.
Please pay close attention to how BadEye phrased his answer about the all-content subscription option.
I'm no mind-reader (just a humble teller of tales) but if I were working hard to get some price concessions from my licensing partner and didn't want to throw them under the bus because they've already given in in a major way that affects not just DDB but FG as well... I would explain a hard NO from my business partner just that way.
It isn't that they AREN'T offering it. It isn't that they WON'T offer it. It is that they are not able to offer it.
Just read between the lines for him a little bit.

Let's say I am running a game with 6 players, they could each have up to 2 characters (for a total of 12 characters) in the same campaign? But if someone else joined, someone else's second character would need to be dropped, right?
Yes
And based on what Badeye said, that's two active characters each, right? They could hypothetically have as many characters as they want that are not active in the campaign.
Will there be a way for me as a DM to create characters ahead of time in my campaign, then give ownership of the pregenerated characters to players who join ?

+1 to this idea
+2 to this idea. This tool could be really useful for certain campaign types, or for just having extra characters on standby for unexpected players. As a newer DM, I've been slowly building a repository of generic characters that I can use to have on hand for various reasons, and being able to just duplicate or transfer over those characters would be useful and way more convenient. It would also be good for a blind campaign, or if I wanted to make something with a very specific theme, like D&D-izing the Guardians of the Galaxy, or whatever.
What about combat tracking, encounters/adventure building, campaign settings (pantheons, npcs, locals, maps etc.) are we not 'launching' half a toolset?
Will this stuff cost extra?
What timeline do we have before we start to see these key three components?
without them beyond is expensive reference tool. Don't get me wrong, I like what's being done, but we're still only half way there.
OK, so, here's a question... what time, exactly, will the discount for the first week on the core books end? I will literally be running it down to the wire in order to get the funds in time, like, possibly down to the minute, depending on a few variables outside of my control, so knowing exactly when the discount stops, would be awesome.

Campaign content sharing makes this, well, amazing.
