Tallgrass gives a thanks to Willowwill and sees everyone across the threshold safely, "My friend, please relay to the others. I know many are of mixed opinion of me, but please tell them I have come to help and brought great aid. If they are willing, please tell them to come to The Verdant Grove."
Willowwill gives a grim nod, "You are bold beyond your years. You know that The Lady will also hear." Tallgrass gives a wily smile and a nod and a smile back before proceeding.
Perrin and Caelynn become deeply aware of a sudden thrumming within the earth. The air buzzes with unseen activity and a strange wind blows the trees into wavy motion. In the next hour, the jungle becomes wild and overgrown, but a path remains true. Life runs rampant and plants spring forth a myriad of colors.
As quickly as the living testament to centuries of care grew around you, it recedes. The plants still bear life and trees remain strong, but everything is withdrawn, as though it does not want to be seen. Tallgrass appears more and more troubled by the sight as you move, "This is not right. Where are the animals? Where is the abundance? It used to be that three dozen could walk the path to The Grove and could gather enough food for days."
When the path opened into a clearing, it seems as though you would be walking into Dalenor by now. Instead, a tree, greater than you have seen, stands before you in a clearing. At its base, the trunk is a solid thirty feet thick and twists above the canopy. A hold at the base leads down into the earth and smaller root stems spring forth to wind up the base to the upper stem. You follow Tallgrass into the clearing until he stops in the center. Somewhat unsure, he calls out, "My Lady, it is Tallgrass, Friend of Leaf and Life. I have brought friends who wish to know your presence and admire the work of you and your Lord."
To his surprise, a group of centaur ride from behind the tree. At the center in a coat of mail stands a leader with sword drawn, "You are not welcome here anymore. I exiled you for such blasphemous talk before. Now you have come to die and brought others to the same." With a wave, arrows spring from the bushes around the grove. Two miss Tallgrass, but another finds his calf and a second lands in his shoulder. Tallgrass falls to a knee in agony and manages to slip an axe from his belt. "He has brought desecrators to our land, our home!" The leader calls, "One among them seems to be the very kind that seek to tske our land from us!" The centaur points to Sohyme. A band of 10 outriders emerge from the forest edge, bows and spears drawn.

(I'll give a couple hours for the others to post if they'd like to attack or try to stand ground in the heated exchange here.)
The leader of the centaur raises his sword and a dozen more of his people emerge. They are similarly equipped as the first group with spears and bows. You now face a dozen arrows at various targets and as many spears leveled to charge. "I am Caleandron, Warden of the Verdant Wood, Protector of this land. Your new friend here tried to spread lies to make us think our Lord and Lady were ailing and weak. I stand to show this is not true."
To Kyrthas, "You challenge what you don't understand. This is our land, you are the intruder, the invader. Why should I throw myself away when I would just as soon charge with my people and hang your corpse from the tallest limb for carrion?"
To Sohyme, "You speak of protection, yet you call demons to our home." Turning back to the wounded firbolg, "Tallgrass, before you face judgement from our Lady, see the lot you have fallen in with. Hypocrites, every one of them. A conqueror who seeks to destroy us, a lizardwoman in league with demons, and there," he points and a spear sails to the middle near Gridolpho, "A thief trying to infiltrate the home of your Masters!"

Perception Roll which Vaike has advantage with because of his Cloak of Eyes: 15
Vaike eyes the group of Centaurs and any overt movements, signs, or body movements that indicate that they will resort to violence/let more arrows fly. If he senses anything like that. (I don’t know how you want to handle that, give Vaike advantage in initiative, maybe even a surprise round, etc.)
Softening her gaze towards Caleandron, quieting her magic bridling it again. Taking a few steps forward standing next to the Goliath and firbolg.
"Again accusations are made. Thief, demon calling?"
Looking to the other centaurs and the other eyes that may be watching.
"Is it the way of the forest to banish those who have not committed crimes? I have heard the forest is patient and bending, never breaking but bending. You claim that Tall grass spreads lies. Have you proven without a doubt that what he speaks is false, that I have called demons, or that our friend *points to Gridolpho* has stolen anything? I see a forest that has reached out to us asking for help, and we have answered the call, seeking those that may also aid us. *gesturing to Tallgrass* With a small smirk. "do I really look as frail and weak as the so called lizardmen roaming the forest worshipping false forest dieties?" Taking another step forward, "let us restart and have conversations that may benefit the land. Ask the treants if the water and fields are different. Where is the abundance of the forest gone?"
Sohyme takes one more step forward now ahead of her group, she sits quietly on the ground awaiting attack or words.
”No, Hoofs It is you who don’t understand. Call more of your donkeys if you want. I’ll cut trhough them like leaves and will cut your head and drink on your skull. You are a coward!! You hide behind your warriors and don’t care if they die. I hate the lot like you!! Come!! I’ll put some sense in you with my axe!!”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The various examinations result in nothing short of a steadfast resolve in Caleandron and his centaur. They are largely unmoved by the plea for diplomacy.
"Tallgrass has claimed our Lady is unwell and something has happened to our Lord. I say now that I have seen them thrice in the last week alone with no sign of being ill or out of sorts." Caleandron moves forward with his bodyguards, a pair with spears and a pair with bows, "Nature waxes and wanes. It would be no surprise to see abundance fade somewhat and return to bounty in a later season."
At Kyrthas' provocation, Caleandron turns to Sohyme and Perrin, "Pity, we could've done away with the traitor and possibly negotiated some other arrangement." Turning back to Kyrthas, "The forest stands as one; its strength lies in thousands of trees, not a single branch," he waves a hand and says in Elvish, "Kill the large one." His blade flashes as he charges with the outriders in the clearing. A hailstorm of arrows precedes a flurry of spears.
(Bow Attacks: 12, 24, 19, 21, 22, 12, 11, 23, 11, 18, 19, 22. Damage: 3, 6, 9, 3, 4, 4, 10, 9, 8, 5, 5, 8. 26 damage as 5 arrows find their mark. The critical fail results in an arrow landing in Tallgrass' back. He is in mortal condition, having a very difficult time standing)
(Sword+Pike attacks: 20, 25, 22, 25, 17, 9, 17, 12, 23, 8, 15, 7, 14. Crit for Caleandron's sword does 19 damage. Pikes/Spears do 20, 14, 29, 14, 19, 23, 17, 17, 27 damage due to the charge bonus they receive (181 total))
I will consider the area as a "Cold Conflict" where all combatant are ready to attack. I think there will be a lot of death in this initial engagement. If you have any reactions or Kyrthas would be considered Raging at this point, it may help. Vaike's super-eyes indicate there are more in the woodline. Probably another 10-12.)
Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
Two questions: As Kyrthas will allso charge forward, does that cancel their bonus damage as they doesn’t run as many feet as they need?
I will post Kyrthas turn complete and will wait for the rest to see if they save him from any attack that will reduce the total damage taken ;) With the benefits of raging he takes 104 HP total if nobody helps him and if he cannot deny them from their bonus damage... ;) Not bad. )
Screaming his war vry Kyrthas launches himself towards the centaur leader. Some arrows fly true and impact him in the shoulder, in one leg, in the chest, but he doesn’t flatter and continues his charge, some fast centaurs, members of Caelandron’s guard charge him and cut him with their spears, but that doesn’t stop him either. One of them tries to shove him but the goliath holds the impact and pushes the centaur away from his path!. He finally reaches the centaur leader, and attacks him with his axe, but Caelandron cuts him deep with his sword in the chest. The pain only fuels Kyrtha’s rage and attacks him with renowed energy, even with all the centaurs circling him and cutting him, he was determined to make the centaur fall.
(Move action: moves forward to attack Caelandron, hopefully cancelling the bonus damage from the centaur’s charge.
Attack action: 22 Damage: 15
Attack: 27
Reaction: Stone’s Endurance: 14 to reduce one of the damage received.
The 60' wall appears in the face of the charging centaurs, and extends toward the great tree without touching it. Centaurs caught within are impaled by the thorns and take 41 damage (or half on a Dex 17 save).
Basically trying to damage as many charging centaurs as possible, and block line of sight to many of those who are undamaged. The wall will roughly span the radius of the clearing (not exactly, since first priority is to block the charge).
Also, self-casting Shillelagh (which is a bonus action, and I would just call a "default" 1st round spell)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC: I fear editing and lose the rolls so here are the two damage that hadn’t appeared from the seconds attacks. A Pity that that one that made more damage probably wont hit.
Damage from “first” second attack: 20
Damage from “second” second attack: 19
Damage recap: 207 total. Half damage 104. Minus 12 from Stone’s Endurance: 92. 15 HP healed: Total damage: 77 HP. 23 HP left!! He is still standing!! Probably will fall next round but this one had been pretty awesome!!!
Vike will go to where the bulk of the centaurs are, and cast Fear. All enemies in a 30 foot radius have their greatest fear projected onto Vaike and must make a Wis 15 saving throw. On a failed throw they gain the terrified status, must drop their weapons and attempt to flee. HOWEVER because of Vaike’s conquest aura, all terrified enemies in a 30 foot aura radius cannot move when terrified. (So basically they are immobile and weaponless until they make a successful throw.)
Ok, Caleandron is met partway by Kyrthas' charge, but sinc he has a sword, he has no charge bonus anyway. The other two unfortunately do get the bonus, but good news follows. I'll micro-manage a bit here for tactical advantage and say that Perrin blocked one side of the grove and Vaike feared the other. Caleandron has 4 retainers, 2 of each weapon, so that leaves 10 spears and 10 bows comeming from the other directions. Therefore, the saves will be as follows:
Dex (only affects those charging with spears): 12, 9, 7, 9, 15. Only 1 successfully dodges the wall. Due to it's overwhelming speed, it manages to vault over just as the thorny vines emerge. Since it takes 20' of movement to clear the wall, you have prevented 4 of them from doing any damage at all. Kyrthas is saved from 79 (40 modified) damage, but still takes 16 (modified 8) from the one that roll the nat20.
WIS (affects only spears as the bows are by the woodline out of range, 7 total): 13, 5, 17, 22, 15, 16, 17. 4 of the 7 are resolute and unshaken. The others quell in fear at the retribution coming for them afte their assault on Kyrthas.
Caleandron is split across his torso by Kyrthas' asault. Just need Sohyme's (keep in mind, she's sitting parlaying for peace) and Caelynn's actions.

Ah! iniciative for the next rounds.. 15 )
PbP Character: A few ;)
Initiative: 5

Seeing the Goliath charge, Sohyme sighs rolls backwards towards Tallgrass as an arrow impacts his back.
Pulling her potion from her belt she forces Tallgrass to drink Potion of Healing (Greater)[wouldnt post tooltip) 14 hp.
Coming to a kneeling position, she readies.
Initiative 20
The bleeding is stopped, but the arrows remain as the healing was not enough to fully mend his wounds. At least he can fight. Just need the fearless leader.

A few seconds ago . . .
Sensing impending doom, I summon my blades, putting a bit of mental effort into making them sharper than normal, and start glowing with an angry red light.
Now . . .
Initiative: 18
I charge the nearest centaur, screaming horrific insults in Elvish, and start slashing at their legs.
Another nova round. 11, 30, 17, 15, and 28 to hit. 13, 16, and 21 in case of advantage (such as from Trip Attack).
