The fourth and smallest city of Talamh is Feirm. Although the smallest of the sister cities it is dominated by vast and seemingly endless farmlands. Known as the breadbasket of Talamh, Feirm as well as the surrounding settlements worship Chauntea goddess of agriculture. Hill dwarves, gnomes, humans, and half-elves dominate this area. Our story begins....
News reaches you where you live within Talamh that Legerdemain, the famous coven of chaotic good magic users composed of all types of magic disciplines representing their families or schools of magic from all areas, is looking for new members. You have heard they are recruiting in secret in the port city of Triskele. Each of you hope to be chosen by the coven that is famous amongst ALL underground magic circles as the unwritten heroes of Talamh. Legerdemain research, defend, and preserve magic in Talamh working in parallel but also in secret with the ruling councils of each of large cities: Caorthann, Sul Na Mara, Foraois, and Ferim. Legerdemain prevent chaos from spreading fighting against all manner to evil either be it a magic users or monster! They strive to preserve the balance between the magic and non-magic worlds.
You have spent days, several days for some, traveling to Windstaff a crossroads outside of the city of Feirm where you were told to wait to meet a representative of Legerdemain. It's about midday day when you arrive. You were told the coven member will make themselves known to the party members by means of a symbol of the coven. It is a blustery spring day with some patches of snow still stand in piles around on the ground and stay nestled in the roof tops. The village center as you approach is buzzing with activity. Many things catch your eyes as your enter the crossroads. A man chopping wood outside a tavern with a noisy sign that reads WindStaff Cove creaking in the breeze. A dwarven woman banging on a farming tool across an anvil to the delight of a gaggle of dirty faced children of various races. Lastly, a half-orc strumming a lyre near a central well with a decrepit old woman dressed in rags nearby looking as if she has found a place to rest near the strumming minstrel who is horribly off key. He is still gaining a crowd of onlookers however but you do not immediately see someone you were expecting would stand out as a coven member.
The man speaks quietly to himself as he enters town from the western road, which normally signifies the traveller has headed from Caorthann. He moves along the street taking in everything as he goes with piercing blue eyes that seem a little too intense to anyone meeting his gaze.
He is dressed for travel, mostly in grey and brown, nondescript but well looked after clothing, not rich but not cheaply made. Shoulder length black hair frames a pale face partly covered with a short and well groomed beard, he seems something of a contrast to those who take the time to look, he has the build of a physical man, looking strong and healthy, who moves well but his hands show no signs of every having lifted a tool heavier than a quill.
As he reaches the square he pauses, leaning against his staff, a beautiful piece of wood six feet in length with a reddish tint without carvings or other adornments. A gentle smile plays over his face as he listens to a half orc struggle with his lyre and he stops to listen to the music for a minute. Then his eyes catch sight of the tavern he had been told to look out for. He seems caught in two minds as to whether to go in.
Kiera is bursting with excitement and curiosity as she slips off the back of the wagon and into the city. She has made the long journey from her home on the outskirts of The White Waste. She looks at everything around her, taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells of the city. Doing her best to blend in she is wearing her new travelers outfit. The colors seem to blend in with the scenery. She knew wearing her normal long flowing gowns of sliver and ivory wouldn't work on this adventure.
She is of medium height with an athletic build. She has her long silver white hair in a simple braid down the middle of her back. Her pale white skin and soft gray eyes eagerly take in the town. She is searching for a busy and lively tavern or pub. She should be able to find the answers to her questions there. From years of experience being the daughter of a pub owner, she knows that the town gossip will be there and hopefully she'll learn something about her new adventure.

Plunge Into The Underdark: Teagan (Level 5 Elf Druid)
Legerdemain: A Little Hocus Pocus: Kiera (Level 3 Human Sorcerer)
When the high elf arrives Windstaff, it's without much to-do. She wears a non-descript grey cape that covers her completely and trails along the ground. It's her Mother's, and it's too long for her frame, but it does it's job. She looks Very Heckin' Mysterious (TM). At least for now, until she finds what she's here to find, and enters the life she's always supposed to have and -- Ooh, are those apples?
When Windstaff appears before Lisalyth, it's life-changing.
Everything here is so exciting. Everything here is so... Alive! People doing manual labour (very new, very exciting), children running around playing (very new, very exciting), and music! Real music. Lisalyth doesn't even realize the music is wrong, or bad, or anything but music. It's beautiful to her, and as much as she knows she should be keeping a low profile she can't help but skip over to the Bard.
Mysterious? Maybe not so much. She's still covered and her face hidden, but her voice is a girlish squeak as she joins the sparse group of onlookers surrounding the bard and says: "Excuse me! Excuse me? You're amazing! How did you learn to play like that?!"
Fresh out of the family house and fresh out on the open road, Fastolph was also fresh out of ideas. Well, that was not entirely true. The entire reason why he was travelling and why he warily eyed the buildings around him was the sole thing on his mind.
Fastolph took the first step forward into his new life but to onlookers, it merely looked like yet another weary traveller slumping into the little crossroad town of Windstaff. He supposed he did not look that much out of the ordinary all things considered. Fastolph looked, by all accounts, like a typical Dwarf: a bit taller than he was wide (5 feet which allowed him to look down on most of his peers), a pale skin from not walking in the sun that many times, a bushy beard and mane (both reddish brown), the works. Perhaps the only truly remarkable trait that set him apart from his Dwarven peers were his golden(ish) eyes but even then one would have to take effort to get up close.
As much as people did not pay attention to him, Fastolph did to his surroundings. He pulled his travel cloak a bit tighter around him and decided what to do. It seemed that a fiddling Half-Orc was drawing a crowd. He began walking towards the sound of music but not before muttering an incantation under his breath with an accompanying gesture underneath his cloak to cast Detect Magic. After all, he was supposed to meet with a member of a magic coven so it never hurt to be on the look-out with his sixth sense.
The half-orc bard winks happily at Lisalyth but finishes his horrible song to the boos and hisses of the crowd who then disappears chuckling at the jester of a humanoid.
"Well, I am just singing of the adventure of my fallen berthen dear one," the half-orc bard replies giving you now a heavy sigh before picking up his empty hat and jutting towards you Lisalyth hoping for coin. "It's all just raw talent," he adds holding the hat out to you expectantly.
Fastolph you see a faint aura coming from the half-orc bard as well as emanating from the napping elderly woman snoring loudly beside him, both seem to be illusions.
Keira and Aerlian you're both approaching the Windstaff Cove and notice one another now. You've passed however in the square a well with a horrible sounding half-orc bard and his onlookers.
"Fallen brethren?!" Lisalyth looks up and the hood of the cloak jostles free to show her face to the sun. Blue-toned skin, dark steel-silver hair, and deep blue eyes suddenly visible -- the eyes wide at the half-orc's statement, "That's awful!"
Her eyes then fell to the hat, and her hand met her heart. People were so much kinder than her family had lead her to believe! "For me?" She reached for the hat, graciousness marred by how eager she was.
"Uh no dear one you put coin...uh in the hat for...well because you enjoy my song," the bard explains giving the blue-skinned elf a weirdly concerned look. "Are you quite all right," he then asks his tone curious moving a foot towards the elderly woman napping and giving her a little jostle with the toe of his boot.
She doesn't wake however she snores on as the half-orc bard stares at you very curiously putting the hat back onto his large head.

You were supposed to put a coin in the hat? Because you enjoyed it? Why in the world -- Oh! To pay him! Oh. Well. She had some money, fifteen money to be exact. Fifteen gold that she assumed were money that she had taken before she had left, and she did not know how much she would need. How much was food? How much was a roof over your head? Was one gold enough to pay for a song? Was it too much? Would it be really mean of her not to give him a coin? Would she be able to talk him into accepting a hug, instead?
It was thankful that the man then turned to an old napping lady - napping outside! The world must be safe! - and seemed to forget about any payment she might have owed him, which she wouldn't remind him of.
"Um, so..."She adjusted her cloak back over her face and turned away from the half-orc to survey what was around her. (Perception Check: 11)
Aerlian turns back from the entrance to the tavern as he catches a humorous exchange between an elf woman and the half orc he'd been listening to earlier. He has a sense of moment, something that he should be seeing but isn't, he stares at the people seeing if he can identify what it is that he can't put his finger on.

Upon noticing the magic eminating from the Half-Orc and the sleeping crone, Fastolph raised an eyebrow. The second one soon followed when he recognised it as illusion magic. Now the only problem was what to make of it. After all, knowing there is magic afoot does not automatically translate into knowing what that magic is about. Still, it was a lead he could go on.
'Splendid performance.' Fastolph said as he approached the Half-Orc. 'Maybe technically not so much but it came from the heart and that is what matters.' He smiled. 'And a genius is never appreciated in his own time.'
He extented his hand. 'I'm afraid I'm tight on cash at the moment so for now the only thing I can offer you is a firm handshake and some words of encouragement.'
As he did so, Fastolph made sure to take a closer look at whatever it was that could cloak the bard and crone in illusion magic.
Lisalyth you see two humans heading towards a tavern and the dwarf that walked passed you to speak to the bard.
Keira it's a lovely spring day and a crowd is gathering outside the tavern ahead of you.
Allerian it just looks like people talking. Fellow travellers exchanging stories most likely. The elf woman stands out because of her blue hue skin and dark silver hair. She stands out the most. History check to know her hereditary background.
Fastloph as you near them what's causing the illusion seems to be emanating from their cloaks which don't look like much at all or at all alike. The bard is on deep purples while the old woman is in rags but a cloak is visible wrapped around her.
The half-orc nods at you smiling a tusky smile. "Much appreciated friend," he replies happily. "Have you journeyed far," he asks curiously.

With the half-orc now suitably distracted and no longer asking for the (potentially) precious gold money she had, Lisalyth stepped away from the two and towards the old woman. Old people were trustworthy usually, right? She didn't really know where she was supposed to be going, or who she was supposed to be finding, but maybe a lady as old as this lady would have wisdom beyond Lisalyth's sheltered years.
Lisalyth stoops over the woman, cautiously patting the woman's shoulder and asking, "Excuse me, miss, or ma'am, er, excuse me? Have you seen any symbols around lately?"
Gosh, she wasn't really good at the whole 'covert' thing, was she?
Fastloph as you near them what's causing the illusion seems to be emanating from their cloaks which don't look like much at all or at all alike. The bard is on deep purples while the old woman is in rags but a cloak is visible wrapped around her.
The half-orc nods at you smiling a tusky smile. "Much appreciated friend," he replies happily. "Have you journeyed far," he asks curiously.
'Only if you count Caorthann as far.' Fastolph replied jovially. 'It's my first time out and about so far from my home actually. Not that I mind much: it's a chance to see new places, meet new people.' Fastolph kept one eye (and smile) on the Half-Orc bard and the other on the crone. He also occasionally glanced at the Elven woman. She seemed... intriguing. Either that or just plan weird, Fastolph hadn't made up his mind. 'It's such a magical experience, wouldn't you say?'
As Kiera approaches the tavern she sees a beautiful elf. She’s never seen a blue elf. She was intrigued and wanted to talk to her.
She’s not sure who she’s supposed to be looking for. She enters the tavern hoping to over hear what she needs to know. She wants to be chosen so badly.
She walks into the tavern and looks around seeing where would be a good place to hear some information.
Lisalyth you manage to make the crone who looks at you with bewilderment.
"What? Who," she says in a struggling tone cupping her hand by her ear as if to aid her in hearing you.
"No use with that," the half-orc then says seeing his companion awake. "She's deaf as a doornail," he adds smiling at you now.
"It's the company I keep," the crone mumbles next looking around the square readjusting in her seat on the well's lower ledge. "What is it deary," the old woman then asks Lisalyth taking out a half of a spectacle to take a better look at you revealing herself.

The woman awakens and Lisalyth steps back in shock, as if she hadn't expected to be able to wake up the human-looking woman. "Oh my goodness!" She says, in a voice too quiet, and so she then says, in a voice far too loud: "I AM SO, SO SORRY TO WAKE YOU! I JUST--" Wait, if she was deaf, how did she hear the Orc? Lisalyth gasped, "WAIT! ARE YOU..."
No, she shouldn't say magic, should she? Magic was not supposed to be said out loud. What could she say instead? What if she just mouthed the word? Could the woman read lips? She hoped so. Looking around conspiratorially for a moment beforehand, Lisalyth dramatically mouths the word "Magic" for the woman, and then raises her eyebrows as if adding a question mark to the end of the silent statement.

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
