If you are interested go ahead and post the following: A breif introduction of yourself, a brief introduction of your character, your posting availability, and your favorite movie/podcast.
Some key points:
Posts should be once per day (weekends excluded, because... lets face it... we are all busy people)
PbP only, the campaign will not be on Roll20 or Discord
Chill players only, no grumps.
Posting should be regular but will be relaxed (if you miss a day or two no biggie)
This is a homebrew campaign, so please keep your races to the cores but feel free to use any class build you have access to.
Must be down to have fun.
I hope to get started fairly soon, but I am a Father/Student/ Full-time employee so it may take a bit to get everything squared away.
Im interested as I'm looking for something to get my dnd fix between my home game and a play by post one sounds perfect as I carry my tablet around a lot and have access on my phone and home computer.
I have a first level human druid named Gwythian who's a stickler for esoteric knowledge.
My favourite movie is hard to say really. I love horror, fantasy and sci fi and a good tear jerking drama from time to time. My favourite podcasts at the moment are Lore, How We Roll, Dragon Talk and Eaten by a Grue. Would recommend all. I also podcast my home game which is called Monday Night Smite. Only been doing it for a month so it's got a long way to go but we are starting to find out feet.

Adventure's I've published on DMs Guild: The Temple of Bhaal - A gothic horror themed "one-shot" single session adventure for 1st level characters. The Palace of Evendur - An ethereal fairy tale "one-shot" single session adventure for 1st level characters.
I would like to join. Outgoing Norwegian with no big DnD community to play with, so i have 2 play by post campaigns I participate in (one is just fights so i miss a lot of roleplay). I can post at least one post every day, but wont spam the forum with only my character and wait for others to post. Patience is a virtue.
My character is a Variant Human, Ranger called Jarmon Prideshot. He is an exterminator for hire, he picked up his older brothers trade of work after the brother had an accident and lost an arm, and thereby had to quit his job. Now Jarmon takes on small jobs and sends some money home to his parents and brother every now and then. He prefers using a crossbow to fight.
My favourite podcast right now must be Critical Role (although i prefer the livestreams), I know some people find the rulebending and stuff annoying and gamebreaking at times, but i believe the DM is boss over their own game and does whatever makes their players and them have more fun. When it comes to movies i cant really pick a favourite, but The Lord of The Rings trilogy, a lot of Marvel movies and Christopher Nolans batman trilogy are a couple of great ones in my opinion.

Also, is Norway as amazing as I have always dreamt it to be? My highschool political placement test told me I belong there lol. Ever since it has seemed like the coolest place.
Norway is pretty alright i guess. Never lived anywhere else in my life so i wouldn´t know. I know that beer is expensive and the dungeons and dragons community is too small.

I would love to join this adventure! Posting once per day is perfect as i am not so young and have job and rugby trainings ;)
I have created 1lvl dragonborn paladin. Young brat that was rised with other orphans in a temple. Bigger and stronger than other kids was sent for paladin training. Loves good food. A bit naive...well very naive...His dream is to save the world! Well whatever this so called "world" is. Green as his green skin;)
The movie? First Star Trek (but i like Star Wars to)
Hey, I hope it's not too late. I have never done a PbP but I would love to give it a try. I DM a couple 5E games pretty regularly and play a little too. I can easily post during the week, and most weekends. I love D&D for the fun and craziness more than anything.
I have a Deep Gnome Monk Urchin. I grew up on the streets in the underdarck where I made a living (if you can call it that) stealing and sleeping on the streets. I was taken in by a shadowy sect of Monks where they raised me and taught me their ways. I have completed my training and now it is time for me to move on in the world, and eventually maybe train an apprentice.
Favorite Podcast right now is Critical Role (kinda new to it)
If there is still room, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm 35 and been playing DnD for about 20 years in groups, mIRC, Ventrillo, and used to play PbP on penandpapergames and other forums on 4e back in 2010 so I'm no stranger to PbP and love the format of it. I've been on a bit of a hiatus from DnD the past few years so I'm getting back into it with PbP since it fits my life situation currently. I'm in another campaign here on this forum, so I check in several times each day.
Favorite movie is a tough choice...I love Seven Samurai, the original Star Wars trilogy (Empire), and the LoTR trilogy. Favorite books are LoTR, Dark Elf trilogy, and Sword of Truth. Favorite podcasts have been Acquisitions Inc, Dice-Camera-Action, and anything from Rooster Teeth.
Character would be a Neutral Good Halfling Cleric named Kruncheälog, but he prefers "Krunchy". He was born into minor nobility, but rather than pursue a path in local politics as his parents wished, he decided he wanted to spread his real love: FOOD, except has near zero talent for it. He was rejected by every respectable chef and establishment except one seedy (as far as Halflings are concerned) tavern and after a short time the owner needed to rid himself of his newest employee driving patrons away. Not wanting to destroy Kruncheälog's only remaining dream, the owner said one of his ales had a "strange, crunchy texture," and needed to be improved. Being completely obvious to this backhanded compliment, Kruncheälog took this as a completely divine gift and decided to travel the world to spread his culinary arts, and took "Krunchy" as his preferred name. It all had to be divinely planned; the tavern owner didn't object.
After being formally disowned by his parents by encouraging him to effectively leave town to spare their family of further embarrassment, he joyfully agreed and loved his parents for "supporting" his talent and became a travelling culinary artist to feed the famished and inspire the leaders of the World through cooking and brewing ales. After many people claimed to be rid of their ailments after eating his (exceedingly poor) food and drink, to mainly get rid of him, he started to travel to various temples to thank the divines for the gift and to honor them with his culinary offerings. It fed the hungry, so it was tolerated by the clergy, but they discovered that he was a natural healer and he was actually using divine healing. Krunchy felt that if he could bless his creations with divine intervention, all the better. So now, he continues his journey to learn more recipes and feed as many people as possible.
Armed with pouches of various spices, ingredients, malts, and cooking/brewing tools; Krunchy uses spices to "heal" people, by say, tossing them a pinch of salt which functions as healing. He also uses cooking utensils that function as weaponry (meat mallets as a mace, large sharpened stiring spoons as short swords, etc) to protect himself from hostile beings who violently reject his culinary prowess and protect those who have experienced his culinary prowess, those who are being harmed by violent culinary critics, or those have yet to taste it.
Ex- video game dev, now corporate sell out (lol). Currently looking for work, so I have a bit of time on my hands, but even when employed I can get in about 2 posts or so a day. I usually keep a close eye on my campaigns.
Character Summary:
My character is Grol, a level 2 Half Orc Paladin. Grew up amount a tight knit clan who were murdered by a goblin raiding party, left for dead he was raised by priests who taught them their ways as well as the ways of his people. He’s vowed to help others who find themselves in difficult times.
Favorite Movie:
I have so many. But if I determine this answer by which movie usually stays on when it comes on TV, despite being played to death, that would be any of the Lord of the Rings movies, although I’m a huuuge fan of the Horror Comedy genre. Tucker and Dale, John Dies at the End, Odd Thomas, and of course the venerable Ash Vs Evil Dead Series.
I'm from Canada. I've never done a pbp game before - almost no DnD community where I am so would love to join a game. I'm pretty rusty but love d&d. Favourite movie...probably Serenity. Nerd alert.
I can drop him to level 1 but I have a Level 3 Tiefling Eldritch knight - He's a former pirate who spent years as a prisoner to a Djinn.
Hey guys, sorry to be the harbinger of bad news, but recruiting has closed. If for any reason we get an opening, I will check back here for you guys and seek you out! Thank you all so much for your interest!
I'm pretty keen! Not a stranger to D&D, but wanna try out play by post. I'm comitted and reliable and will communicate any disturbances in posting.
Looking to post once/ day, every second day at the latest.
I'm from Australia and I'm a visual arts teacher. Fav podcast right now would be Adventure Zone. Fav movie os Happy Gilmore.
I have a number of characters, and I know you said PHB only, but a Tabaxi Barb named Rae has been swirling around in my head lately. I can also make this a dragonborn if there's an issue. Reskinned as a large white haired tiger, wielding a greataxe. Hot blooded but wise, he tries to carefully calculate options before comitting to a fight. Because once he's in... he's all in.
Is this still recruiting? It's cool if not, because I am chill. I'm looking for comedy-heavy D&D. I tend to play exuberant characters that try wacky things, but I'll never intentionally harm the party and I'll do my best in battle. Just … if the DM likes to create atmosphere by killing goofy characters, I may not be a good fit.
I'm interested in a pbp dnd game! this is my second pbp and i'll be starting my first d&d group next thursday. My character is a mute bard named Sardo Janlitt, who has a lyre, bagpipes, and a journal. She strong for a bard, and she's not very smart, but she's a good friend! I'll be the most available in the evenings and nights on saturdays, sundays, tuesdays, mondays, and wednesday. My favorite podcast is The Adventure Zone.
