"An old tune of the swamp people. I've spent a lot of time in the swamp outside town, and I've seen and heard many things, some of which I've written down in alligator-skin scrolls. I am no bard, however, for I am a wizard. Not as great as I was years ago, when I first became a lich (of sorts), but still quite skilled. I am Banjo Man, lord of the swamp."
"When a particularly insane, foolish, or unscrupulous wizard yearns to live forever, they can try to achieve lichdom. Many make deals with demons or evil gods to get the secrets to eternal undeath, but I tried something different. For years, I quested around this world and many others on a great flying ship, searching for a way to gain a wish or two. Eventually, I got lucky; I saved a man from an ancient dragon. As it turned out, the man was a genie of some sort, and he gave me one wish. I essentially wished for lichdom, and I got it, to a degree. It turns out, I never specified how great my undead-magical-power stuff would be, and I only really got the eternal life and a fruit basket. Having been satisfied enough with what I gained, I set off back home. On the way, the ancient dragon's son (who, as it turned out, was part hydra) attacked, making my ship crash in the great swamp. I ended up killing him by impaling him on a tree. Then, I settled down in the swamp, which made my power wane greatly. Now, I just kind of work at a lounge and try to make a living."
He claps his hands once.
"And so ends my overly long story. I hope you were paying attention because I am not repeating myself. Whether my story is true or not, I'll let you be the judge, my friend."
Clapping his crystalline hand and shouting in Abyssal . “ Bravo, encore, brilliant” finally after his cheering he says in common. “Thank you for this beguiling tale, I wish to know more. I have little but will pay for good information. As I said I seek metallic dragons and their kin do you know where I might find some?”

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Eager to quickly instill a sense of normality, the bookie formerly known as the 'Purple Worm' has seen to drawn in gamblers of just about all ages. Money may not buy happiness; but, the chance to cheer on and show one's thanks and faith in heroes of the city was worth any price! Some may still be skeptical now seeing the half-drow Zalandra, now garbed in blue robes and headband bearing a draconic visage, offering such enticement. Lion-O sees to it that no trouble starts up over things.
For Those Interested In Placing Bets on the Level 2 Match:
(Someone please help me come up with better names!)
Da Rules:
There have been a few changes for the Rank(/level) 2. Bets will still remain open until the until the 3rd round) of the match. Variable betting has been temporarily restructured so that the minimum stake can be no lower than 10 gp, and maximum set to 100gp with a 10% Vig.
(Stake x Odds = Payout(-Minus Stake, though it is returned as part of payout))
S/N Rulings: --*For this match, bets will remain open until the 3rd round. --*A gambler can bet on multiple categories, but only once per.
--*And to clarify, methods of incapacitation that do not involve a takedown (ie. Competitor being reduced to 0 hp) only qualifies as a 1st to fall IF said competitor REMAINS incapacitated until the match ends. --*If multiple competitors are rendered incapacitated at the same time via the above method, and remain that way until the end of the match, the stake is considered a loss. In such an event, all proceeds is divided and funneled back into the arena to support future matches (or so she says at least) --*If the Vig/commission is not paid upfront, it will be taken out of the winnings. --*Competitors are allowed to place a bet either personally or by a proxy. HOWEVER, they are restricted to placing said bet upon their team's victory or personally achieving 1st Blood(when applicable). --*In the event of a draw (not sure if that's even possible), bets will be refunded (at cost to MD) in regards to any placed on a final winning team. --*Those that don't understand the format change are free to ask for clarification. --*Lastly, all bets are FINAL.
(I would do a 1st to fall, but.. this strongbird man.. its such a for sure thing with so many enemies on the otherside that it's ridiculous to consider betting on anyone else at this point.)
(Nimbus to be added later once team determined, but won't change the equation enough regardless of which team to warrant a change in odds) Winning Team: 3.0 Wild Child (Rec, Julilus, Strongbird, Ohio, Psy, R'ajiira, Caleb) 1.5 Stranger Things(Abubz, Ironwood, Deciet, Marston, Fenla, Fin, Crassus)
Currently playing in: Quest for the Shunned City, Coliseum of Conquest, DragonDenn's Dragonlords, Shipwrecked on Fugue, Tomb of Annihilation, Razor's Lost Mine of Phandelver, The Lost Kenku & One Grung Above
Currently DMing: Princes of the Apocalypse, Out of the Abyss, Coliseum of Conquest—The Arena (Sometimes)

Sorry, Arcerak the Eternal, you just reminded me of this song.
Drag'thur: Acolyte Monk lvl: 1 Labors completed; 1/10

Wanted to clarify, Deceit is a lady.
Caleb, who as a halfling barbarian takes the name as both mockery and acknowledgement that he IS the team, bet 10 gold on Wild Child and paid the vig.
Also, may I suggest "Battle of the Bog"?

(@Acerak, what level is Banjo Man? I could have sworn I heard he was level 2, somewhere...)
(@Orileo When you asked for better names I misunderstood and thought you meant a name for the battle itself)
(@Doug Ah, I see! Naw, I meant different name/title for the bookie herself. What with the whole purple worm nonsense that recently happen.)

(@Bobo And you were charged an extra 4gp vig for it. Not sure if Mag would still have gone through with the bet.)
