Ok Krunchy is in there. I only have one special request for the party if you guys will permit it. Krunchy would like to be (at least tolerated to be by the other characters) the cook for the group. It's a fairly long (and somewhat humorous) bit of his backstory that I wrote in another campaign thread that never got started, if that's ok.
I was planning that, too ... but ok, if it's anchored to your background, I'm taking something else that im proficient with :)
No no do what you please. Honestly I doubt the party will actually eat Krunchy's food so someone with proficiency is probably needed. Please stick with your original idea.
Based on folks feedback, can we say that Morgram Steelfist & Valmarir arrive as a group and the others individually?
If anyone else wants to group up, you can either group with Morgram and Valmarir, or find someone else to team up with. Groups aren’t required, but just feels a little more organic.
In any case, let me know in the next couple of days!
So the group knows, I’ve ironed out most of the issues I was having with my campaign, just some final touches and We should be able to kick this off. I’m hoping to kick this off by Sunday evening. I’ll keep you updated. Sorry for the delay in getting started.
Also, I was thinking that we should use XP instead of Milestones. Anyone have any issues with that?
Personally I don't have any major preference with how the group is started. Sometimes in PbP it's a little easier to start as a group, but not actually know personal details. To offer some middle ground, perhaps a mix? Some characters could meet individually or in pairs. Whatever the DM prefers.
Tiny bit of character background spoiler for grouping:
Non-spoiler version: Krunchy would be fine either with arriving with 1 or more companions, or individually.
Just a little insight into my character: Since Krunchy is a terrible cook, he could possibly pair up with another character who actually has legitimate cooking skills or at least knows the basics. He could also be just as happy to initially be travelling alone.
So if anyone wants to pair with a dwarf cleric, then it's welcome.
Edit: Milestone might be easier for PbP, but honestly I don't have a major preference. If you're more comfortable with Exp based, then I'd run with that. If everyone has fun then it doesn't matter much in the end.
Rae is fairly personable and Charasmatic, so I'm happy for him to be well into his cups by the time others arrive.
Rae has brewing supplies, so if there's food covered, he got the drinks! Once he has a few, anything meaty goes down well ;)
Personally, I feel that Milestone may be easier from a DM perspective- being PbP it will be slow going, so being able to milestone levels may be easier to have us where you want us, but I'm happy for either!

I have a new idea that also go well. So i already switch the coocking tools proficiencies
So, i summerize:
Xander wants to come alone,
I will be togehter with Valmarir
Rey, Tordek and Krunchy have also no problem with grouping up (so they could also make a party?)
Milestone is easier to track (especially on PbP i think), but EXP is maybe better because we have different Level at the start. So the low level characters can catch up faster. :)
I'm also looking forward to Sunday. However, I would like to mention that I am from Germany and Sunday afternoon in America is evening or night in germany. So i will maybe have a delay to do my post.
My plan is that anyone who “goes dark” will just get sidelined until they return, if it seems like they aren’t going to be back, I’ll write them out of the story. Life happens, it’s cool, I can write you back in if the fates decide. Totally flexible.
Level 3 is fine, right now we have 2 of each level from a through 3. I recommend that Rey and Tordek level up to “2”. Otherwise, my understanding of challenge balancing might mean that the level ones might have a rough time.
Ok, looks like everyone but Rey has leveled up to “2”. Well start the campaign a little on the slow side to let AfroSamurai level up Rey if he so chooses. But I think we can get going.....
”Welcome to Brook Hollow” the sign said. Despite the humble and slightly decayed nature of the sign, the words provided a small amount of comfort as the miles of traveling had taken their toll. Days in the wilderness and any sign of civilization conjured feelings of warm food, soft beds, and at least a night of not sleeping with one eye open. The day had started out cool and windy, but slowly turned a darker shade of grey. The wind had picked up and you could tell that a storm was coming. By the look of things, it was a good night to be indoors.
As you come through a bend in the road you can see beyond a modest bridge the tops of a small town. The bridge was stone masonry and wood. You could hear the wood creak underfoot which made you wonder exactly how old this town really was. JUse past the gates Stood the remanants of a city wall, long gone but for the stone pillars that served as the entrance to the town. On one of the pillars, the words “South Gate” had been expertly chiseled.
As you passed through the gates, there was an Inn immediately to your left. While convenient, you couldn’t help but feel like it was a not-so-subtle hint from the town that outsiders were to be kept at a distance. The inn, like everything else you’ve noticed about this town was of humble accommodations. You notice a stout looking gentleman behind the main desk. Just a little over 6 feet tall, you could tell by his build that he likely had another, much more physically demanding job in the town. His hair was dark and cut close to the scalp. Clearly the book he was reading held his attention as he was completely unaware that you had walked through the door.
Whatever is easier for you... My background is a soldier, so that should be easy enough to work in your campaign...

I'm really thinking about changing to a human... Lots of our little Dwarf friends. OK with that?

Rae is a bit of a wanderer, so possibly 2, but also happy with 1 =)
"CoS" Rumble- Tabaxi Shadow Monk
Teak, honestly whatever you’re going to have the most fun with!
Hah, Rae feels very comfortable around dwarves! He likes to drink 'em under the table ;)
But seriously, I thought it was very fortuitous that he speaks Dwarven without knowing there were going to be Drawves in the party =P

--- Regular ---
LmOP, OotA and CoS as DM ---- SKT: Diero Merivaldi (Variant Human Arcane Trickster - lvl6) ---- ToA: Erevan (Drow Half-Elf Hexblade - lvl2)
--- PbP ---
Into the Mists - CoS: Euron Dread (Glasya Tiefling Hunter - lvl1) --- The Labyrinth of the Goblin King: Grigor Marsk (Human War Wizard - lvl3)
Thanks for the heads up, Melredor!
No problem on the delay, we’ll find our rhythm!

What level should we be DM? 1, 2 or 3?
"CoS" Rumble- Tabaxi Shadow Monk
Level 1 or 2 preferred. Our Bard is level 3, which is fine.
I say we start at level 3
Felix Windfall(Human-V Lv.7 Rogue) killed in ToA, Vallan Houndstrider (Halfling Ghostwise Lv.1 Fighter) in DiAI'm ok with 2 so I'm just leaving my character there.
After Apocalypse - Liavyre Withrethin Elf Ranger
Dragon of Autumn - Geoff Krowly Human Cleric

Is that consistant with your guys experiences?
Very good... I'll level up. Thanks!
