Crane chuckles and takes the string with a small, two-finger salute to him as she ties the string off onto the strap for the time being. "You being the nurturing type. I hear something or such about you acting papa bear to some small creatures."
Trick's face goes a deep red at her mention of this and begins fidgeting with the edges of his cloak. "N-no, I don't really-" he starts, when a squeaking sound cuts him off. "You really have terrible timing, you know that?" he hisses down into his cloak. "Fine. Yeah, I guess. 'Nurturing'..." From within the cloak, Trick produces a small grey mouse. The mouse sits patiently in his cupped palms. "Meet Roscoe."
Crane's face lights up at the appearance of Roscoe, her cheeks rounding in joy as she bends down to lift a finger out to Roscoe, gently nudging the spot to the right upper bottom of it's ear. "Why hello there, little Roscoe! You should meet Tig-- I certainly think you'd like her."
As if on cue, a small squeak comes from below the two of them - a small brown mouse. "Looks like we may have some friends in common, hey Trick?
Clarion walks around to the horses and uses his dagger to half an apple. He feeds each half to the horses petting them and making sure they are comfortable with him. He looses the reigns and starts leading the horse down to the Light Traveler. He needs to pick up a few more arrows and replace some items in his explorers pack. He notices uncomfortably how quickly Trick and Crane disappear. Speaking towards Wracoria and Callista he says "Shaddy bunch those two, know their way around dark corners I suppose. Could come in handy when the time comes, long as they stay out of my pockets. I'll pick up and few things at the Traveler and we can start for Phandalin. No rush, let me know when your ready." They approach the Traveler and Clarion hitches the horses to the post. "Go in and get what you need. I'll keep watch out here and take my turn when you are done."
Trick examines Tig closely, captivated by the creature. "Right... Friends..." he murmurs, lost in thought. Then he shakes his head and regains composure, his eyes darting around. He pulls his cloak around him. "Just because we have this in common, it doesn't make us friends," he says caustically. His tone lightens. "But uh... I've got your back for now. For Tig's sake."

As everyone finishes gathering supplies and stows their items in the wagon Clarion speaks up. "Ok, if everyone is ready let's start movin. I'll guide the horse like we were instructed. Callista, you are looking a bit tired. Why don't you climb in the back and take the first rest. Don't worry, if anything comes up we'll make sure to wake you." Clarion unhitches the horses and points them towards the High road and Phandalin. "Say your farewells to Neverwinter, wont be seeing her for well over a fortnight, depending on your plans of course. Crane, now that you have your dulcimer I assume we can plan on some walking tunes once we get out of town, yes?" Clarion's comfort level rises with every step toward the forest. Truly he deserves the nick-name 'Tumble' as he loves being blown toward that next adventure just over the hill ...
Members of the group run into The Light Traveler, met by a human woman behind the counter. With a quick greeting and exchange of needs and information the woman provides the group with their needs, some rations, waterskis and general adventuring gear. With an exchange of pleasantries and coin the group made back out to the cart where they began the journey out of Neverwinter, and onto the High Road. Some wanting to get out of this place, others with the stirrings of adventure in their hearts, all with the want of something better.
Clarion looks in control of the animals, in his element. The rest of the group seem to be getting used to each other, at least enough to complete the job. Making there way out fo the city and down the High Road adventure in their hearts. The day goes by with out problem, idle banter back and forth, but every one stay someone quiet and introspective.
As the sun makes its way down and the day turns into dusk, the group find a nice quiet glade where they can make camp.
OOC: Here is the map let me know where your character wants to be as you all make camp, in the OOC thread.
With their camping spots picked the group started setting up camp. Passing back and forth idle chatter. Suddenly a low grumble rolls through the glade, a single growl. That starts to intensify and multiply. Coming from the north, then as the group looks that way another growl comes from the south. A pack of wolves slowly make their way out of the trees, eyes set on the adventures. The wolves teeth are barred, the hair on the back of their necks stands on end. The southern pair crouch down, as if prepared to pounce.
The forrest goes quiet, the blood in your vein begins to pump, your body start to react in the most natural of instincts.
OK, we are now in INIT order, please roll your INIT in the OOC thread. When in battle I ask that you all follow a little template I have for your actions.
State what you want to do, roll both for To Hit and Damage, it just makes it go by faster. Remember you can break up movement.
Then at the bottom of your post please place a spoiler with the following information, depending on how the group interacts I may add some more in the future but for now we'll use this.
Name:
HP: current/max
Starting Position: (Grids on the Map)
Ending Position: (Grids on the Map)
Special Abilities Left: (i.e. Lay on Hands, or Bardic Inspires)
Clarion quickly realizes the danger and moves to a central position in order to see the area. He knocks and arrow and lets fly on the wolf that was between him and Crane. "Try not to let these wolves work together, they are pack animals." He yells after he releases his arrow. ATTACK: 25 DAMAGE: 11
The trained ranger and archer struck true. His arrow flying fast and hard, striking the wolf at the top of his neck right into it's heart where the wolf dropped to the ground dead, letting out a wimper. The other wolves let out a howl seeing their comrade fall to the ground.
The wolf took 19 points of damage. (When a crit happens in my game you get max dice, and then roll for additional, i don't double the dice because if you get two 1's then did a crit even happen?)
Crane pulling her trusty boomerang out from her cloak she take aim and throws at the wolf to the north. The boomerang sails true and hits the wolf in the side of the head, where it looks at her and gives a growl as her weapon returns to her out stretched hand. She gives a little smirk.
Crane rolled a 20 (16+4) and did 6 (4+2) points of damage.
The wolves howl once and then move in on their prey. The northern wolf sprinting at Crane after she just hit him, he lunges at her for a bite. Crane dances out of the way.
The two southern wolves run up to the halfling, flanking him and growling. The first goes for a bite, finding his mark. The second goes for the same attack, but just barely misses.
Wolf 1: to hit 6 (2+4)
Wolf 3: to hit 23 (19+4) doing 6 (2+2+2) points of piercing damage. Trick please make a strength check of DC 11 or be knocked prone.
No time for a rest from the travails of travel. Her eyes widened in alarm at the growls surrounding them in the clearing. Surrounded like they were reckless prey. Gritting her teeth, she panted, running more into the clearing and further away from the wagon. In a flash, her first three fingers stood stiff, as her arm moved into a perfect circle. Purple light shone through, and with a shout in Infernal, she aimed at the wolf in front of Bird.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Clarion quickly surveys the situation and seeing that Wracoria has slashed one of the wolves attacking Trick he takes aim at the wounded wolf hoping to bring the resulting wolves (that they know about) down to 2. As he is letting the arrow fly he thinks on how resourceful Trick was rumored to be and worries that the truth might be more humble. He really hopes Trick doesn't turn into a liability as they escort this wagon to Phandalin. Attack: 14 damage: 4
With a spark of purple arcane energies Cally's blast hurls out at the wolf striking it true, and impacting its head. The wolf crumples to the ground in front of Crane. The pair give a brief sigh of relief as they see both northern wolves have been taken care of.
Trick goes and with two attacks from his blades barely misses the wolf in front of him. His sharp blades taking off the top mane of the wolf. With the wolf's attention on Trick Wracoria shouts to the wolf and brings her longsword down, cutting deep into the wolf's side.
Clarion sees this as the perfect opportunity to let loose an arrow, and his aim holds true. With the cut from Wracoria Clarion's arrow sinks deep into the wolf as he drops to the ground.
The last remaining wolf stairs down the halfling and goes for another bite.
Wolf 4: To hit 23 (19+4), damage 7 (2+3+2). Please make another DC 11 strength check in the OOC, or be knocked prone.
Crane hearing one of her team mates shouting, she can only assume there are more wolves and runs behind the wagon and Wracoria to see that last wolf. She flips her boomerang in hand and hurls it toward the last remaining wolf. Hitting it in the side.
Seeing her comrade fall to the ground Cally rushes over and with another flick of her fingers purple arcane energies start to pour out from her hand as she hurls a blast toward the wolf.
To hit: 14 (9+5) dealing 13 Force Damage (10+3)
The wolf crumples to the ground as the beam hits and snaps the wolf's neck.
Crane chuckles and takes the string with a small, two-finger salute to him as she ties the string off onto the strap for the time being. "You being the nurturing type. I hear something or such about you acting papa bear to some small creatures."
