Geoff turns his attention back to his own table without saying anything, slightly shaking his head to himself in annoyance to the man's lack of manners. Feeling irritable from lack of sleep, he would be tempted to teach him a lesson, but does nothing to avoid drawing attention to himself.

Nearly everyone in Solace managed to drop into the Inn of the Last Home sometime during the evening hours these days. People felt safer in crowds.
Solace had long been a crossroads for travelers. They came northeast from Haven, the Seeker capital. They came from the elven kingdom of Qualinesti to the south. Sometimes they came from the east, across the barren Plains of Abanasinia. Throughout the civilized world, the Inn of the Last Home was known as a traveler's refuge and center for news. It was to the Inn that the three friends turned their steps.
The huge, convoluted trunk rose through the surrounding trees. Against the shadow of the vallenwood, the colored panes of the Inn's stained-glass windows glittered brightly, and sounds of life drifted down from the windows. Lanterns, hanging from the tree limbs, lit the winding stairway. Though the autumn night was settling chill amid the vallenwoods of Solace, the travelers felt the companionship and memories warm the soul and wash away the aches and sorrows of the road.
The Inn was so crowded on this night that the three were continually forced to stand aside on the stairs to let men, women, and children pass them. Escarin noticed that people glanced at him and his companions with suspicion-not with the welcoming looks they would have given five years ago.
Alex's face grew grim. This was not the homecoming he had dreamed about. Never in the years he had lived in Solace had he felt such tension. The rumors he had heard about the malignant corruption of the Seekers must be true.
Five years ago, the men calling themselves "seekers" ("we seek the new gods") had been a loose-knit organization of clerics practicing their new religion in the towns of Haven, Solace, and Gateway. These clerics had been misguided, Tanis believed, but at least they had been honest and sincere. In the intervening years, however, the clerics had gained more and more status as their religion flourished. Soon they became concerned not so much with glory in the afterlife as with power on Krynn. They took over the governing of the towns with the people's blessing.
A touch on Alex's arm interrupted his thoughts. He turned and saw Shanryar silently pointing below. Looking down, Alex saw guards marching past, walking in parties of four. Armed to the teeth, they strutted with an air of self-importance.
The guards are a bit taken aback by the question and move you along.
Kinlin slides along Xorn humming a small tune and the guards are startled to see him finally. They look at each other for a second and the time stretches ..then they grumble, "Kenders."
Moving up the tree Xorn sees his friend Alex nearing the entrance of the Inn.
“Let’s go inside “ said the wizard from the depths of her hood “We will be safer.” Alex and Escarin only saw the reflection of the fire in her green eyes, or mabe it was her inner fire that lit them. The shadows played a trick and her hood and cape seemed black for a second, as if she had chosen to serve Nuitari after her Test instead of Solinari. For a second she looked terrifying. But she moved away and the light changed above her, and she was again the same Shanryar as always, climbing up the last steps towards the door of the Last Inn.
She doesn’t open the door directly though, Escarin see how the door opens itself at a command from her hand.
"Yes, let us join the others and have a drink. Maybe someone inside can tell us what is happening here." A look of concern crossing Alex's face. "I can not remember a time like this and I don't like it."
"I can't believe how much it has changed in just a few years but then, the world is changing too, we have changed for that matter" his voice trails off as though the last words have triggered something in him. Shrugging it off he turns back towards the Inn and moves inside. "I could definitely do with a drink."

Having not been in town yet, Xorn replies “Yeah, sure have. A little extra security never hurts though.” As they come me to Solace proper and notice the multiple armed patrols, “Maybe not this much security. “
Upon seeing Alex, Xorn calls to him with a bull call that he would be familiar with to get his attention. “UURRRRNNNNUUHH!” when Alex turns at the call, Xorn snorts and waves.
Hearing the minotaur's call, Alex looks around to find the brut to which the call belongs. See Xorn walk with Kin, Alex returns the call with a piercing call of his own. Turning to those at his table "I am suprised to see the kinder not hanging from Xorn's beard, If you can even call it that." Alex stands to direct them to the table.

Shrugging it off he turns back towards the Inn and moves inside. "I could definitely do with a drink."
“Yes we have changed “ answers Shanryar to Escarin. Uncounsciosuly she touches her hair, that used to be of an ocre brown color, almost as the leaves of the vallenwoods in autum and now it was white. “But at least we have changed together... “ she smiles at him “let’s go, I’ll buy you that drink and those potatoes... “
(OOC: are we already at the table? If we have entered and are seated I will add some lines when Shanryar sees Tika and Otik. )
Escarin looks back at his companion, smiling, and finds a smile of his own comes despite the strains of the day. "I'll get the next round then. At least our other friends are here, we can hope they met with more success than we did."

“I’ll hold you to that!" Shar answers to Escarin offer to pay the second round.“At least they don’t get themselves killed. This is like those jokes that jester made back in Elkholm.. A kender and a minotaur walk into a tavern...” she smiles while she wait fot Alexander and Xon to meet each other.
Xorn approaches Alex and offers him a warriors handshake reaching for his forearm. "There will be no hanging or any other fooling around with my warriors braid. Off limits! Har, Ill take one of those as well." He says, calling after his small friend. Turning back to Alex "Well met Alex, I hope the the day finds you well. Come lets get inside, I need someone else to talk to besides this damned kender."
"Well met my friend indeed. All was good till seeing what is happening to my home. I had heard rumblings of war but did not believe them. Now I see goblins patrolling my home town." As he finds his seat again. "I hope others have better news than I for it has been a hard road back."
Seeing his friends randomly enter, he smiles then stands from his chair and makes his way over to his friends at the table across the tavern. He walks up behind them to greet them as a surprise.
"You all seem lost. Solace has changed, has it not?" He unveils his head from his cloak. "What a strange group indeed," as he chuckles lightly to himself. "It's been too long friends. I hope you didn't have much trouble getting here." He bows slightly to greet everyone.

As Kinlin give a head shake to Alex / To Xorn " I see how it is , I have literally had been in your shadow for these last few years and now your bored of me , let me see the light ! HE HE lets all have a good time / we need a rest after that long journey"
Shanryar, after saluting both TIka and Otik is now seated near the fireplace at the table, with the staff next to her. Seeing her friends reuniting she feels that the warm of their friendship is more conforting that the one of the fire. She felt how the grim thoughts that she had since they met the goblins melt away. She waits until all of them greet between them and sits at the table. She ask Escarin to sit next to her by tapping the chair when they come to the table. Then she takes down her hood, revelaing her face. All notice the change of her hair color, but she doesn't give importance to their glances.
" I am so happy to see you all my friends, and that we all could had made it to our promise. Let's enjoy Otik's potatoes and share our news..."
"It has been a long, long time Geoff. I see you have company tonight but I hope there will be time for stories later on, I hope at least one of us has something to entertain the others with after five years." The stress on entertain and the look in Escarin's eyes tell the others what he really means. He slides into the seat next to Shan, comfortable among the group but most at ease with his closest friend of them all. "Now did someone say potatoes? Because no amount of goblins are going to stop me from finishing a sizeable amount of them."
