Back in room 6, you see once again the scratched up paper bark posts, ledges at various heights around the walls with the vases adorning the highest ones. The dot of light has vanished from the ground, no longer tracing a figure of 8.
You see the same closed door to the east leading out to the now collapsed bridge.
The open doorway to the north which leads back down to the room which had the shadows.
Two open doorways to the west- one which leads back to the fungi room, another which leads downwards.
And one smaller door which looks like it's been made up from spare timber planks to the south. This door has a small single step down to it and is more set into the wall.
"Well, unless there are more doors beyond this one, it looks like we might be getting close to fully exploring this level." Liam pauses to look about at the rest of the group.
"Anyone opposed to going through this south door?"
Crispy chuckles at the mention of 'dusties or ickies'.
"That's fine." She says. "South is good. Lets just find this person and get out."
Dungeons sometimes gave her the willies. Sometimes. Crispy didn't fear anything, really, but it was in a dungeon that her old partner died in. That was the day both of them tried to bring a beholder crime lord to justice. Of all the criminal scum they had bribed, extorted, beat up, and brought to justice - that was the day they decided to see what they could do with a beholder. They were told to bring him in. They dispatched his guards and fought and fought more of them until the bodies lined the walls, till she couldn't see anymore from exhaustion, till every muscle fiber in her being threatened to fail. When they met Xanathar, a couple of threats, and a couple of snarky remarks was all it took to know they were over their heads.
That was the day it all ended, and her partner was disintegrated. How she escaped with her life was another story.
The door swings open with ease as Chubby pushes it open with his axe. Inside reveals a small chamber of a room with decaying barrells and shelving, a musty spell fills your nostrils. It appears to have once been a storage room or pantry. Against the back wall, there sits a humanoid skeleton, with a cat like skull and claw like fingers, hunched over with its head between its knees and arms wrapped around its legs. Its fingers are interlocked and you notice a jade ring on one of the fingers, seemingly untouched by erosion and time.
We’re probably after an arcana check here, but between Gregor and Crispy, you can tell that items which stay this shiny for so long- especially when they’ve been left unmaintained are most likely magical in nature.
Gregor will immediately pick it up and try to put it on his finger. (I’ve been playing Gregor too smart, too cautious, gotta get that impulsive half orc tendencies into my role play :P)
Attunement only takes a short rest though, doesn't it? Unless this item specifically requires a long rest...
Liam facepalms as Gregor puts the ring on his finger. He then watches closely if anything problematic happens. When nothing is readily apparent, he relaxes just a bit.
"Gregor? Did anything happen? Do you sense anything or feel any different?"
Most of everything else in this room has long decayed. The wooden shelves break and splinter away easily, and what was food is now nothing but a white, foul smelling moss.

Crispy doesn't care which way we go. It seems like we're going to explore all the rooms, so might as well.

Nia looked up. "South works. Though based on everything we've seen so far we should be ready for Dusties or Ickies."
Crispy chuckles at the mention of 'dusties or ickies'.

Chubby will walk up to the south door, and tap on it with his battleaxe blade.
Last to know and first to be blamed...
As a free action, can I regret my life choices?
"Hopefully it's not a mimic." Crispy jokes.

I kneel in front of the skeleton and peer at the ring and see if I can identify it, but I don't touch it.
Insight: 22
Investigation: 21
(Whichever is appropriate)
Gregor will walk reeeeeaaaallll close and try to see if he feels anything with his (very limited) magic.

We’re probably after an arcana check here, but between Gregor and Crispy, you can tell that items which stay this shiny for so long- especially when they’ve been left unmaintained are most likely magical in nature.

Liam watches Crispy examining the ring.
"You know, I have a couple of spells that would help if you're trying to determine anything about that ring..."
Gregor will immediately pick it up and try to put it on his finger. (I’ve been playing Gregor too smart, too cautious, gotta get that impulsive half orc tendencies into my role play :P)
Watching Gregor reach out for the ring, Liam is suddenly very concerned.
"No wait, it could be cursed!"
Gregor insta-dies.
Nah, you push it on- and nothing. You feel a slight tingle go up your finger, and you feel that in time, the properties may reveal themselves to you.
(Requires attunement, so don't forget to ask me what it is after a long rest edit: or short rest )

"Welp, I guess we're about to find out, huh..." She says sarcastically, listening to Liam, and watching Gregor take it.
She will then look around the room.

“Ha-ha! Gregor was needing a new ring. This be the Skelton of cat friend? Gregor will take fang to honor fallen friend.”
He then proceeds to desecrate the Skelton. “Maybe alive friends should search room? It seems to be storage area.”

Yes I think you’re right, edited.
