For clarification, where exactly does the THUD, sliding dwarf, and pursuing overseer take place? The main deck? The common room below deck? As is I'm not certain if Liam would even be aware anything is happening.
Nia spent a long while just watching Liam scribe his spells. The process fascinated her, her 'spellbook' was actually just a journal with a fancy cover and was used variously as a diary, dream journal, sketchbook and notepad, whereas Liam was scribing actual spells and formulae. She took the 'spellbook' out of her backpack and began to draw in charcoal.
Chubby pulls his substantial girth out of the breakfast chair, and ambles over to the fallen deckhand. Lifting the dwarf up back onto his feet, he whispers into its ear “You all right? Becareful...” in dwarvish, and then scrambles after the red bandana boss. After catching up to him/her, he’ll introduce himself, profusely compliment him on his amazingly well run ship, and ask if he can get a personal tour by the boss, whenever he’s free.
After arranging the personal tour, Chubby will retreat back to his bunk and inventory all his equipment. He has a sinking feeling the deckhand was caught going through the guests personal items.
Crispy seems to sober up fast, and leans against a bulkhead post, arms folded. Observing the dwarves and slowly looking around in case anything else unusual happens. Her fingertips play with her weapon hilts and if someone looks at her she gives them a saucy wink. She eventually wanders the ship keeping her eyes open.
If the commotion isn't immediately within the common room of the guest quarters, where Liam is working, then he takes no notice of it and continues his transcribing. He'll pause every now and then, if Nia looks particularly curious, to explain to her what he's doing.
Chubby pulls his substantial girth out of the breakfast chair, and ambles over to the fallen deckhand..
As you go to aid the fellow dwarf, the door between you and the crew deck is rudely shut before you have the chance.
Over the rest of the afternoon however, you do eventually meet a few more of the crew; A female Dwarf who appears a bit of a tom boy named Runi, Ragar, who offers up a game of dice to whoever is game and the one who you saw being thrown around, a quiet Dwarf named Fimlin.
Liam continues to work on his spellbook throughout the remainder of the morning and on into the early afternoon, taking only a short break to grab a bite to eat around noon. He wants to get this task finished so he can more properly focus on the upcoming endeavor with this unexplored island. He does listen to any tidbits of conversation that might happen nearby as he's working though.
It's a total of 7 hours work to get all six spells that he has the supplies for transcribed, and he's already gotten one of those out of the way, so only six left now on the airship. Since they took to the sky shortly after 0800 and Liam began working very soon after that, would it be fair to say he completes the task around 1500? Or would the short meal break and impromptu tutoring with Nia push it closer to 1600?
"So." She says, tapping on the hilts of her swords, smiling. "What's your story, short stuff? It's been a day or so that I saw a dwarf get tossed around."
“Aye” he says with a bit of a sheepish look. “Ah well, it’s just how Gorum is. Likes to take charge and boss everyone around a little bit- although it means he’s not very well liked among the crew. I think ‘e thinks it must attract the attention of Runi.”
I’m happy to say that Liam gets all his spells written in by dinner time, where Ruven has actually invited you all to join him in the guest common area.
Fimling senses a little sway in your voice and pipes up, talking like he’s rehearsed this next phrase before; “But ahh, don’t worry! We’re here to make your ride enjoyable and as smooth as possible behind the scenes. You’re in good hands!” He then gives a small half bow, before waddling off back to the lower deck.
Did Chubby ever catch up with Gorum, to get his schmoozing in and schedule an appointment for a personal tour?
Unfortunately, not with Gorum. However, you were able to meet up with either Runi, Ragnar or Finlin (your choice) who happily organise a tour for you and any friends after dinner :)
At this point in the evening, you guys have managed to explore the upper deck, amenities and your own rooms and the common room. The lower crew part of the deck has been harder to get to so far with busy Dwarves rushing around getting the voyage under way, however Chubby has been promised a tour of the crew decks by a few of the Dwarves after dinner.
At around 1800, the ship is well underway and sailing smoothly above the clouds. Ruven pops his head out of his private quarters and lets you all know that dinner will be prepared and ready in the common room soon and invites you all to join for a light wine and answer any further questions you have about the mission.
When you guys are ready, you can pull up a seat to a lovely feast with cooked chicken, exotic salads, roasts and fine Elven wine.
Nia yelped and was halfway through the incantation for Eldritch Blast before she realized what just happened. She snarled and gave the elf a good view of both of her middle fingers after cancelling the spell. "I'm going to shove my staff up your x'kreg, you kvoring r'karth!" She said, swearing in Infernal and grabbing her Staff of Adornment.
When Liam finally finishes his tedious transcribing work, he stands up to stretch with an audible sigh before gathering up all of his supplies and bringing them back to his room. On his way, he taps Nia on the shoulder to wake her up from where she fell asleep drawing in her journal.
"Wake up, sleepy head," he says with a faint smile. "You didn't have to stay with me the whole time, you know. Come on, let's get that charcoal cleaned off of your face, then we'll go up on deck for a while."
Once his things are stowed away, he'll do just what he said, heading up on deck to take in the evening air over the open ocean. He'll stay up there for a while, right up until Ruven gives his invitation to dinner.
On the mention of fine elven wine, Chubby hustles down to the common room and selects a chair closest to the serving area. He strikes up a conversation with the waitstaff, obviously asking about the vintages of the wine, where it was made, are they early or late season grapes, etc.
After buttering up the staff with plenty of compliments on the food, wine, and service, he’ll steer the conversation towards gathering information on the stonemasons who were in the original airship trip to the island. Did they appear to be equipped with any weapons (i.e. did they appear to be worried about their safety)? We’re there any guards who came with them, or were already there?
Chubby is just trying to get an idea of the security situation there, and if we’re apt to have any confrontations the moment we step on land

Those looking around would see it as it caused a bit of comosion. Through the stairway between the guest quarters and the crew deck.

Crispy walks up to Fimlin, casually.

Crispy walks down the hall and pops her head in the room that Liam and Nia are in, in an attempt to startle them, shouting:
"HEY WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING?" really loud.
Unfortunately, not with Gorum. However, you were able to meet up with either Runi, Ragnar or Finlin (your choice) who happily organise a tour for you and any friends after dinner :)

Okay, nevermind the Nia interactions then...
