Well now i think that Talos could be to "edgy". As we did not start yet I think i would change it to Hoar. Is it possible in this setting? Or maybe you guys have other ideas of God that will fit into Inquistor role?
DM can i change i to Hoar or maybe some diety of death?
I would like my character to be a cold killer. He gets order to kill magic user that lost control of his powers and he does it. He does not ask why. It could be a young untrained witch on a swamp, old twisted warlock overwhelmed by his patreon etc. But Jason knows limits of his powers. He is not a suecide kind. At least not yet
You're looking for a Deity of death? Who's ok with killing (particularly Mages and foul Magic users). Does that sound correct?
Edit: I think Hoar is a really good fit for what you've described your character as. That works for me if you feel him a good fit for your Character.
Also I will be posting tonight the Start of the adventure. I meant to do it last night but got caught up with some IRL stuff. Good luck all and may you roll well.
This may be a bit of a Stretch but there is also Shar
An excerp from her entry in Sword Coast:
People worship Shar as the goddess of night, secrets, loss, and forgetfulness. She represents pains hidden but not forgotten, and vengeances carefully nurtured away from the light. She is said to have the power to make folk forget their pain or become inured to a loss, and many people in distress pray to Shar for such a blessing.
And is a NE Goddess with the domains Death and Trickery. For you we're obviously looking more towards the Death side of her portfolio.
Personally I think Hoar is a better fit, but Shar is the best I found with the Death Domain tag. And has a hand in vengeance as well.

I don't (nor do I think 5e as a whole) adhere to deity/PC alignment restrictions. You can serve Bhaal but be CG and only murder those who have already escaped justice or punishment. As an example. At least that is what I've come to undesrtand. Alignment in 5e is a lot more lax than previous editions.
Would Inquisitor Jason not be just Neutral? He serves no law, nor does he sow discord. And his actions, while personally justified, target all users of magic with suspicion good or evil. Of course punishing those with less than Good Intent. Falling square in the middle again between Good and Evil.
Not trying to assign your character an alignment, but I did say only non-evil alignments. You all ARE the good guys after all. Not necessarily the Nice guys, but good none the less.

Yeah in older editions of D&D a paladin or cleric could lose the powers granted to them by the god/goddess if their alinegment shifted basically leaving them as a weak fighter or worse. I've seen a game where a paladin shifted so far that the dm said that their God smited them for the things they did....

Rekuberk Onc Level 8 | Half Orc | Barbarian (The Tales of the Fellowship of the White Cloaks)
Hello all, to start with a Hook. Please select one of the following or come up with one for yourself more fitting to place yourself the path to this Adventure:
•The characters have heard rumors of goblins terrorizing the settlement. The High Steward of Nightstone, Lady Velrosa Nandar, is a Waterdhavian noble. She is reportedly offering a reward to anyone willing and able to deal with the goblin threat. • Nightstone is a popular retreat for wealthy nobles who wish to hunt in the Ardeep Forest. Adventurers can earn good money by offering their services as guards on a hunt. • The residents of Nightstone have a longstanding and seemingly irreconcilable conflict with their northern neighbors, the elves of the Ardeep Forest. Lady Velrosa Nandar has been searching for skilled mediators to help resolve the dispute. • The Nightstone Inn is renowned for its food and cozy guest rooms. The dwarf innkeeper, Morak Ur'gray, has a fondness for adventurers and a nose for lucrative adventuring opportunities.
As soon as everyone has their reasons for traveling to Nightstone, we will begin.

My family has heard rumors of goblins terrorizing the settlement. The High Steward of Nightstone, Lady Velrosa Nandar, is a Waterdhavian noble. She is reportedly offering a reward to anyone willing and able to deal with the goblin threat. I have been sent by my family to assist a fellow Noble in protecting the people, as is our duty.

Calanon was sent by his superiors to learn more about the events in Nightstone due to their leader being interested in possible future oppurtunities. His missions orders were to iinvestigate in order to learn more and if possible open up communications with the leader of the settlement. Despite his reservations about being out beneath the painful light of the sun, the young drow accepted his assignment, leaving for Nightstone in the dead of night. For the time being he would pose as an adventurer and offer his aide in whatever way they saw fit.

To me personally it sounds like Jason should be chaotic neutral. If you want me to explain my reasoning I will upon request.
Taliesin was traveling around town staying at the inn owned by Morak Ur'gray. Taliesin had been told by the inn keeper that a wealthy noble was looking for some help and was offering a hefty reward. Knowing as how I'm quite a skilled person myself and I'm always looking for some money, Morak thought I'd be perfect for the job.
Jason recived order from his temple to check if some crazy wizard is not behind this goblin plague.
So for my character:
He cares about tradition, loyalty, and order but not about freedom, dignity, or life. He plays by the rules but without mercy or compassion. He is comfortable in a hierarchy and would like to rule, but is willing to serve.
My character will not betray companions but if he will have to kill one innocent to get to the one evil he will do it.
If we look into the history of real humans Inquistors all of them were quite evil;)
DM: Can I play him that way or you would prefer to shift him more to good?
Wilword likes his comforts and is staying at the Nightstone Inn. This means he is always looking for ways to make money. The dwarf innkeeper, Morak Ur'gray, has a fondness for adventurers and a nose for lucrative adventuring opportunities.

That would probably be better, no offense but check the patherons of DND section before picking a god, there's a link to it in the Cleric class

I will go with Hoar then. Thanks for pointing out issues with Talos and help! As Hoar allows only LE/LG/LN I will switch the aligment to Lawful Evil.
So..
On his cloak and shiled you can see sign of Hoar
Wait why Lawful evil you mentioned before you mostly just do your task it doesn't involve any sort of malevolent intent
