Better than rolling a nat 1, I guess it's a good thing I didn't need a performance check :P
( True and but a nat 1 is better then as a level 20 pc you roll with double profiency and advantage with a plus 17 ability score then roll double nat 1s.... That almost made me want to cry.)

Wilword has been heading north for some time since leaving Candlekeep. Currently heading toward Waterdeep he decided to stop in Nightstone and try and replenish his coin before he needed it to loosen some tongues.
Having found a room for the night and sorting his meager belongings he heads downstairs to see if there are any work going in town that he may be able to help with.
As Jason approaches the guard in the watchpost he rises his hand and shouts without any emotions:
"My name is Inquisitor Jason. I was sent here to investigate if there are any magic activities behind recent goblins plague. Both of your temples were informed and both agreed not to disturb the investigations. Here are the permissions"
Jason pulls two scrolls from his cloak and wave with them in the air
A guard pokes his head over a the tower parapet to see what this is about. Seeing a lone figure with papers in hand he looks back and nod to someone behind him. Slowly the bridge is let down, a guard hurriedly strides out to meet you. He is a man of middle years, in half plate and a helmet that looks aged but has seen little battle. "We were toldwe'd be receiving you." He looks over your papers as he speaks. "All seems to be in order. Lady Nadar would be a fine place to start your inquiries, she's also investigated the recent troubles herself. Sorry to say she is busy this evening. Tomorrow she will be accepting audiences with all who would assist with ridding us of our Goblin problems. Welcome to Nightstone" He says as you're handed your papers back. He steps aside allowing you to pass.
(The rest of the Party has all gone to the Inn. Or is already there)
Business is picking up. 3 of the 5 tables now have patrons, and almost half the seats at the bar are occupied. The is a low murmur across the place as multiple conversations are being had. One lone figure also sits in a corner alone except for a small mug and plate with partially consumed food on it. The Inn's Owner, a Dwarf named Morak, is busy tending the patrons at the bar, both in drink as well as tales as they all share a small chuckle at some story being told.
(Those of you who have made arrangements for a room, it is 2 Silver per night stayed. And it will be assumed you've already gotten your room.)

(Once again everyone will laugh and look towards Morak if this joke is successful, if a fail everyone will just think it's a bad joke and lose interest.)
"Finally for my last and final joke. Well, I guess it's more of a funny story than a joke, but either way here it is!"
"An elf and a dwarf come across a drow in the woods while adventuring. Preparing to attack, they are shocked to find an Efreeti which offers the three each one wish. The dwarf asks for his home hold to be filled with the best defensive weaponry possible. Not to be outdone, the elf asks for his home city to be surrounded by a huge, impenetrable wall, with no crack, crevice or even gate to fully ensure his people's safety. When it comes to the drow's turn, he thinks for a minute. 'How high is this wall?' he asks. 'About 30 feet' replies the Efreeti. 'And it's completely impenetrable?' 'Yes'. Again, the Drow thinks, before finally opening his mouth to declare his wish. 'Fill it with water'"
(If successful everyone will laugh, a little nervously, as they know there's the drow in the back corner of the room but they can't help themselves because it's too funny. Morak will also laugh uncontrollably as he thought that joke was gold, if I fail everyone is shocked with the racist joke and the atmosphere will get awkward...)
