I am interested in running The Lost Mines of Phandelver. I would like to run a group of 4 players who are relatively inexperienced with D&D 5E, or at the very least have not already read the adventure. This would be my first play by post game as DM, though I have run games in person before. I intend to play at a relaxed pace, and will be sticking to the free basic rules and the adventure itself to keep things nice and free for new players. Characters will be created as a group after all player spots have been filled.
So let me explain the game I want to run. The Lost Mine of Phandelver is the adventure that comes with the 5E starter set, I have played through as character but now I want to run it. If this game goes well this adventure also makes a good starting point for a much longer adventure. I want to keep this game simple, at least at first.
For character creation I want the four of you to talk and decide what kind of group you want to be, work together and create a team. Stick to Forgotten Realms lore for backstory, and stick to the basic rules and Players handbook for races and classes and such.
I will be posting at least once a day, don't freak out if I miss one here and there I work a lot. I want to stick to a very simple classic d&d format as described in the introduction in the basic rules, but feel free to have the characters chit chat or goof around a bit while waiting for me to move the story forward.
If you are still interested confirm by replying with some stat rolls. by that I mean use the dice roller on the forum to roll 4d6 and drop the lowest result like so 9 do that 6 times. these will be your starting stats that you will build your characters around. any questions just ask.
you can use these results in any order you want and of course they will be altered by your choices in the character builder. once you have confirmed and seen your roll go ahead and tell the group what kind of character you think you might like to play but don't go making anything final until you are all happy with the group. I want you to build this team together, your character is yours, but build them with the rest of their group in mind.
