Well Zale takes full damage as she wouldn’t be able to see Rezmir so no uncanny dodge lol.
Growling, Zale switches targets and rushes Rezmir.
To hit; (Disadvantage from darkness) 23,16
damage: 12
The Darkness wasn't there when she made the attack, so you can uncanny dodge. At the start of your turn the room went dark again. However, even with disadvantage Zale still hits her target.
Eric grunts, he has no more power left to dispel the darkness again "Coward!" he yells, while his Spiritual Weaponswings at his enemy in the darkness (10 eventually dealing 6 damages). As regular action he casts Cure Wound on himself again, regaining 7 hp)
Khessa's Attack: 8 Damage: 14 (slashing) + 3 (fire) = 17 or half (8) if missed (thanks to Potent Cantrip)
If Rezmir has maintained her focus on Darkness despite Zale's attack (I don't know whether it's a hit or not) and Anator's breath, Khessa must attack with Disadvantage. In that unfortunate case, this is a second attack roll and we keep the lesser of the two: Khessa's Attack for Disadvantage: 24
You stand ready to take a chance on your target. As you swing your sword, the darkness disappears from the room, just in time for you to see that your sword passes through thin air. At the location where you expected Rezmir to be, there's nothing but a pile of ash.
Khessa raises an eyebrow at Anator: "Don't you think you exaggerated a bit with the intensity of the flames, brother of mine?"
The blonde arcane warrior, however, after joking, looks around suspiciously, trying to locate any traces of Rezmir other than the pile of ash...
Anator's blaze and the final blow of the green-flaming Greatsword should not have been enough to reduce the fearsome opponent completely to ashes. "Is it possible that this is the end of Rezmir?" the tall adventuress wonders, perplexed "I wouldn't want it to be a trick..."
Khessa also communicates telepathically with Anator, having him explain what he saw happen... to decide if it could have actually been a trick or if simply a mysterious force (perhaps the fury of the Dragon Queen?) reduced Rezmir to ashes for her failure. [[ OOC: Anator has Blindsight... He must have perceived what truly happened - at least whether Rezmir turned to ashes or not. ]]
Anator saw that Rezmir was already pretty hurt. He thinks his last attack would have been enough to finish her. The moment it hits he saw her body disintegrating into a pile of ash.
Khessa suddenly goes from suspicion to exultation, running to hug Eric first and then Zale: "We did it! Anator told me, that little pile of ash is all that's left of Rezmir! My 'mother' must be a little harsh on daughters who disappoint her..."
While embracing her beloved dwarf, the blonde arcane warrior doesn't hold back from kissing him passionately, noting the marks that the battle has left on him: "You were my shield just as you promised... I have truly been 'shielded by both steel and love' - and by the latter perhaps even more than by the former".
"We just have to see if there's anything worth taking away with us..." the tall adventuress scans the room with her blue eyes, once he decides to break away from the dwarf's embrace "Then we can go back to announcing our success".
Khessa takes the Wyrmspeaker's greatsword for later examination and looks at Zale: "There is a chest to loot... and who better than an accomplished pirate for this task?" she winks "Just take care to check for traps...".
Khessa takes the Wyrmspeaker's greatsword for later examination and looks at Zale: "There is a chest to loot... and who better than an accomplished pirate for this task?" she winks "Just take care to check for traps...".
As you pick up the sword your mark begins to burn intensely. That sword should be in your possesion! It belongs to you! And no one else!
Zale looks confused for a moment when the darkness fades but her target is nowhere to be seen. Then she sees the pile of ash, and Khessa confirms her thoughts. The Dragonborn grins. After Khessa hugs her and then picked up the great sword and mentions the chest, her grin widens and she turns her attention to the chest.
First she examines it for traps, the last thing she wants is a vial of acid dissolving whatever is in here.
...As you pick up the sword your mark begins to burn intensely. That sword should be in your possesion! It belongs to you! And no one else!
Khessa is both surprised and frustrated that the evil Mark comes to life once again... she had hoped that the side-effects of that powerful object would have died out with the death of the one who bestowed it on her - namely Azbara Jos.
"This weapon..." the blonde arcane warrior warns, gritting her teeth to resist the unpleasant sensation "The Mark reacts to it... And in an unpleasant way!"
The tall adventuress is inexplicably convinced that that sword should be in her possession - but she tries at least to carry it in a scabbard, without touching it directly, considering the unpleasant effects! There will be time to ascertain its powers later.
[[ OOC: Is there any chance for Khessa to resist the lust for possession of this weapon, considering that it seems to react to the Mark - Mark that Khessa knows is linked to Tiamat? Any save allowed? Or she still must keep it - period? ]]

Investigation: 14
If she finds nothing, she will open the chest.
Thieves tools in case it’s locked: 15
[OOC: I'm sorry...]
You don't see any traps, the chest is locked however. As you try to pick the lock you suddenly feel a sharp pain in your finger. The lock was rigged with a poison needle trap! Zale need to make a CON save DC 13 to see how she handles the injected Wyvern Poison. 31 poison dmgon a failed save (succes = 15).
[OOC: did you reverse some of your previous dmg bc I allowed Uncanny Dodge?]

Ok, during the ritual yhe party notices that the fighting gets closer, maybe even in hallway next to Rezmir's room.
About the sword:
This Greatsword, a dark-colored blade of Netherese design and sporting a curling guard and a pommel embedded with a purple gem, is the legendary greatsword Hazirawn . This evil sword has personality and moral alignment of its own. It can converse in both the Common and Netherese. The soul of a once successful military commander for the Netherese empire, Lord-General Hazirawn, was pressed into the greatsword. Hazirawn has a terrible aversion to Wizards and is quite capable of influencing the person who carries him.
Once Eric casts his spell you all hear a disembodied voice:
Ha! So you figured me out, little Dwarf? No matter. I'm willing to bond with you. It doesn't matter which Wizard's blood flows, only that it flows!
"So be it!" Khessa then approves "The wizards who are helping the Cult of the Dragon will feed you for a long time".
'Maybe this is why the Mark reacted...' the blonde arcane warrior thinks 'It is a Mark placed by a wizard, while this sword is a bane to them'
[[ OOC: But before deciding what to do next, I'd like to know Zale's fate... It can make a big difference, whether our friend is able to act or not! ]]
"Love, don't take that sword lightly, sentient weapon are powerful and pursues their own goal, regardless the will of their owners. So use it to increase your power if you will, but do not put your trust in it, they are powerful tools but they are not friend neither they are comrades and companions" he says, pointing at the sword.
Zale stops convulsing after Eric’s healing touch. She doesn’t get up immediately, instead she just lays there staring at the ceiling. How stupid can she be? She literally just fell for the old needle in the lock trap. Her mother would be so disappointed. Ugh her thief skills must be rusty from all this adventuring.
Sitting up, she smiles at Eric, “Thank ye.” She says in a strained voice. Then she slowly moves back over to the chest and lifts the lid. (If she managed to get it unlocked)

The sudden silence after the battle feels... odd... then you hear it, softly... the thick castle walls muffle the sounds, but there's fighting!
Looking around quickly: you notice Rezmir's sword and the iron chest.

(Lol that’s just how things go haha)
(I forgot to undo the uncanny dodge thing, but she rolled a 4 for con save so she’s dead either way)
Zale, confident that she’d thoroughly checked the chest, proceeds to pick the lock. Then she feels the prick… “Ah Damn.”
Then her eyes roll back in her head and she falls backwards binging to convulse and foam at the mouth.
Eric exhales "young people are so reckless" he says while shaking his head. Then lays his hands on the Dragonborn body. healing 12 hp
OCC: Eric casts Cure Wounds, and so his last spell slot goes away...
